Intel Core i7 920 Quad-Core Socket 1366 Processor
Cons:Takes a buttload of voltage to get to 4.4GHz

Pros:Overclocks well.
Comment:
Got a D0, will do 4.2GHz on air with high voltage, but couldn't take the load temps. 4.0GHz x 1.35v3.8GHz at 1.200v (stock). Can't ask for anything more.

Pros:8 Virtual core!Shared cacheTriple channel ramAmazing performanceCheap
Comment:
Just the memtest when I built my comp with this beast amazed me. I recommend it over any lga1156 because of triple channel ram ddr3 that really makes a difference.

Pros:Fast, with great overclocking potential

Received a D0 stepping version of this, extremely good overclocking capability, with a lower voltages required from the previous stepping. Will not bottleneck any video card out at the moment.

Intel Core i7 920 Quad-Core Socket 1366 Processor
Cons:Supplied cooler is junk, a bit expensive.

Pros:Screaming fast, overclockable, doesn't run THAT hot.
Comment:
Bought this i7 920 for a new build 2 months ago. I immediately noticed that the stock cooler was not really efficient, and proceeded to purchase a Coolermaster V8, which definitely helped. At stock speeds, temperatures rarely go over 33C. Got it in a 24h sale at $299+tx so was a good deal for the chip (which is a D0 BTW), but X58 systems are still expensive. Otherwise go for it!

Intel Core i7 920 Quad-Core Socket 1366 Processor
Cons:- Heats up a lot (130W TDP)- Stock heatsink is barely adequate

Pros:- Very fast- Overclocks well (3.8Ghz for me)
Comment:
I bought this for my new build and I must say, it is very fast. Even at stock speeds, everything loads up very quickly. Windows 7 boots up in about 20 seconds. The only problem is that it heats up a lot and very quickly. At stock with my Corsair H50, the load temperatures were at 60 degrees. In all, I would really recommend this processor for anyone diving into Nehalem.

Intel Core i7 920 Quad-Core Socket 1366 Processor
Cons:No weaknesses that I can report!

Pros:Everything runs flawlessly and a great overclocker.
Comment:
This mixed with a decent aftermarket cooler (Noctua HN-U12P SE1366 in my case) can give your friends a serious case of overclockers' envy! Without even trying I was able to run the clock speed up to 3.8GHz and with a bit of time I'm sure that getting it stable at 4.0+ GHz would be no problem at all.

i have two of these puppies now.this chip blows all other chips out of the water in terms of a cost:performance ratiowell worth the extra dollarsgot an Asus P6T Deluxe (v1, not v2) and a thermaltake ultra 120 extreme and overclocked it to 3.8Ghz no fuss no muss.Very very very satisfied with the results. This thing seems at least 4 times faster than my Core 2 Duo E6300.I'm a very heavy power user and even I can't push this thing to it's limits for an extended period of time.... it's so powerful

Intel Core i7 920 Quad-Core Socket 1366 Processor
Cons:A little more involved to OC than a Core2. Uses a lot of power especially when OC'ed and throws a lot of heat when under a massive load. Most things can't max it out anyway so it runs pretty cool most of the time.

Pros:Got 4.40GHz OC on a Noctua cooler with the Intel DX58SO mobo and OCZ Reaper DDR3 1866 HPC. CPU is ungodly fast, makes everything else seem like slow motion. I upgraded from a Core2 Duo 6420 OC'ed to 3.4 and this thing is ridiculously faster. GTAIV holds 60fps steady, my Core2 at lower settings could barely hold 30. You will not slow this thing down. My RAID-0 is holding this thing back, get the fastest HDD setup you can afford.
Comment:
Temps, at 4.40 and 1.275V I idle at about 27 and load at about 64-68 on Prime95 small ffts. Playing Far Cry 2 or COD 4/World at War/ GTA IV the CPU sits at about 35 degrees which tells me it is sleeping on the job.

Intel Core i7 920 Quad-Core Socket 1366 Processor
Cons:I definitely spent more with this processor and Asus P6T SE board, but I am so glad I did! I know it will meet my needs for years to come.

Pros:Fast fast fast. It gobbles up everything I can throw at it! Nice job Intel.
Comment:
I was amazed with the size of the factory heatsink and fan. Unlink the Pentium4 retail I bought years ago, the included fan is very quiet (almost silent). Even under high 3D gaming loads, this guy only runs about 40C in my Cooler Master case

Intel Core i7 920 Quad-Core Socket 1366 Processor
Cons:None so far....

Pros:Fast, 4 cores, easily overclocked
Comment:
This is a very nice CPU, especially when you're upgrading from a P4 AGP setup, like I did!Obviously, since this thing has 4 cores, and can run 8 threads, it's got a lot of processing power available, which became quite apparent as soon as I started Folding with it, i.e. my Folding at Home score went WAY up. Needless to say, the complete architecture upgrade made the big difference, but of course this CPU has also contributed to my now, once again, being able to play the latest games.Of the Core i7 CPUs available, this is the cheapest, but is so easy to overclock, even for a relative overclocking noob such as myself, that it's quite simple to get as much, or more, performance from this CPU as some of the other Core i7 CPUs available. If you're in the market for a new computer, and are hesitating to get the lowest CPU in the Core i7 family, there's really no need to hesitate, because this CPU kicks some butt, overclocked or not.

Pros:- 4 cores 8 contexts- on chip memory controller
Comment:
Huge improvement over my last single core CPU (AMD Athlon 64 3000+ f 2GHz). Great for multitasking and mutlithreaded gaming. I haven't overclocked mine but from what I've read it can go well beyond 3GHz on air and 4GHz on juice. Too bad I was shipped a C0 stepping.

Comment:
bought this for a new system and am very happy. wow...shows 8 cores in device manager; that is cool. loaded windows 7 beta and everything works like a charm. probably not so great an improvement yet to be worth upgrading from a high end 775 system, but if you are building a system anyway, go with the i7 and ddr3.

Pros:- Powerful CPU- Easily overclockable- Hyperthreading actually works

I love this CPU. I can run CPU intensive games and this doesn't even break a sweat. I yet have to find an application that'll tax this bad boy.
