Intel Core i7 920 Quad-Core Socket 1366 Processor
Cons:None
Pros:Fast, Modern Comment:
Received a D0 revision processor. Currently running 4GHz stable in a Rampage II Extreme using only 1.21 volts which is quite amazing. These CPU's run a bit warmer than the core 2 quads of last generation but its a given due to the on-die memory controller. The CPU is currently liquid cooled, I wouldn't dare recommend using the stock cooler when overclocking this CPU. This CPU would run fine at this clock with a decent air cooler as well but I like the peace and quietness that liquid cooling provides. I don't recommend playing the CPU lottery if you desperately want a D0 revision, as C0 revisions are still being shipped out. |

Intel Core i7 920 Quad-Core Socket 1366 Processor
Cons:Which I could of got my hands on the D0 Stepping.
Pros:Huge leap from my Q6600. Overclocked the C0/C1 will hit 4.2 - 4.3 on Water with 35/72 Idle/load temps. Comment:
Simply the best line of processors out there right now. Overclocking is a breeze. Took me a whole 15 mins to go from 2.66ghz to 4.1 ghz. Stable at that too. |

Intel Core i7 920 Quad-Core Socket 1366 Processor
Cons:Runs hot when Overclocked.Expensive technology.
Pros:New Technology at this time.Runs with low voltage. Comment:
This processor is a beast. Why bother with the 940 and 950? I overclocked mine to 3.6 GHz and runs beautifully (32/69 temps) on air. Please do get a good aftermarket HSF and cool case for it. :D |

Intel Core i7 920 Quad-Core Socket 1366 Processor
Cons:Kinda expensive I guess?
Pros:It's Awsome Comment:
30 words or more well then,Coming from a dual core to a quad, this thing make a pretty huge difference. I love being able to run more apps. can get alot more done in alot less time. installation was simple enough. I never used the stock fan however, I beefed it up rite away to the Asus Triton 81 :PRun's at an avarage of 34c, gets up to 40c on a hot day with heavy use.Got it placeed neatly in my Asus PT6 Deluxe V2 MOBO Now I just need a good OS that can support my 6 gig of ram Recommeneded to anyone that likes good performance, and to run more apps. |

Intel Core i7 920 Quad-Core Socket 1366 Processor
Cons:none
Pros:fast and no installation issues Comment:
bought this for a new system and am very happy. wow...shows 8 cores in device manager; that is cool. loaded windows 7 beta and everything works like a charm. probably not so great an improvement yet to be worth upgrading from a high end 775 system, but if you are building a system anyway, go with the i7 and ddr3. |

Intel Core i7 920 Quad-Core Socket 1366 Processor
Cons:Steep price compared to core2/Phenom2's
Pros:Stupid fast in multi threaded apps thats harness 4-8 cores. Comment:
For people that make heavy use of apps that use of 4-8 cores the i7's are really the only thing you should be looking at.If you are just gaming or other things that can't make use of its power your better off buying a core2/phenom2 system and spending the savings on a better video card. |

Intel Core i7 920 Quad-Core Socket 1366 Processor
Cons:havent been able to hi 4.5ghz....yetC0 stepping... lol
Pros:overclocks, wayyyy better than my q6600 for multi-tasking, clock for clock. triple channel DDR3 1600(or faster) Comment:
its a pretty decent chip, great for multi tasking. loads everything faster, webpages, folder browsing etc. games clock 4 clock compared to other quads(my q6600), its on par for the most part.. the odd games its better tho. never hits 50 degrees celcius.. ever.. even at 4ghz. thank goodness for aftermarket cooling. really easy to overclock too... whew wasnt sure what to expect... i just love it as much as my q6600 almost 3 years ago now... quite simply its the best CPU for the money out there.. go ahead spoil yourself, get a 3way SLI mobo with triple channel DDR3!!! |

Intel Core i7 920 Quad-Core Socket 1366 Processor
Cons:Kind of expensive stillRuns pretty hot with stock cooling if you OC.
Pros:PowerfulEasy to overclock Comment:
So far I am very happy with the i7 920. At stock settings it can run pretty much anything I throw at it with no problems. Overclock it a bit and it's absolutely amazing! I'm new to overclocking and I already have it running x 3.8GHz stable. I'm using a T.R.U.E to cool and temps barely hit 70c under full Prime95 Blend test.I would recommend this CPU to anyone looking to build a new system. Maybe if you have a quad-core already it's not worth it yet, but perhaps when prices drop a bit. |

Pros:Fast.New technology Comment:
I've dreamed for it. Now I have it. Works very good. Fan is a little bit noisy, so if you want a lower noise you should buy another better fan. |

Intel Core i7 920 Quad-Core Socket 1366 Processor
Cons:It runs very hot under load, and its overclock ability is depended on the batch...
Pros:Fast on multitasking, video encoding. Comment:
It is like a lucky draw whether you got a good batch for OC on these i7 920. Hope D0 will do better. |

Cons:Expensive
Pros:FastNext-Gen Technology Compatible Comment:
Have had this processor for roughly 2 weeks and its been a pleasure. As the prices stands now the LGA1366 2.66GHZ really seems like the way to go. Haven't tried OCing yet though. |

Intel Core i7 920 Quad-Core Socket 1366 Processor
Cons:Noisy and inefficient Intel Heat-sink and fan1366 setup is still relatively expensive
Pros:Built in Memory ControllerNice cool idle temps (at stock speeds )Latest Technology ( HT is back Comment:
This 1366 chip sure has a lot of new features the key one being the on-board memory controller. However these new features currently do not directly result in massive (non-overclocked) performance. In other words if you are not considering overclocking this processor, don't expect to see much if any real world improvements over lets say a Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600. The area where this processor really shines is in its reported ability to run at very high clock speeds when overclocked. Some of the downsides of overclocking however is that it is currently unknown how long one of these new architecture chips can keep going at such high clock speeds, and they do run very very hot, so it is highly recommend that you get an aftermarket (1366 compatible) cooler for this chip as the included Intel one is quite poor and noisy. Also this Processor is Massive compared to all previous intel chips, there are so many pins that the new socket is even re-inforced and requires more force to install.Overall if you are considering upgrading your Q6600 to this processor i would recommend you wait until prices drop some more, since personally i have noticed little to no difference in using this new i7 920 over a Q6600 at equal clocks, other then the higher heat generated at load, or lower heat generated when idle. Oh and it is pretty neat to see 8 threads in task manager :) |

Intel Core i7 920 Quad-Core Socket 1366 Processor
Cons:It would be nice at this price point to have something around the 2.8 - 2.9 Ghz since the next step up 940 is a large price jump.
Pros:It is an Intel Processor, solid design. Far superior to AMD Solutions Comment:
I bought this Processor on Easter Weekend and it just arrived. It is a solid design and was a breeze to install. I bought the Asus Rampage II Extreme Motherboard and 12GB of DDR3 OCZ Reaper 1600 memory. This system just FLYSa compared to my old Xeon X3350 /w 8Gb of OCZ Reaper DDR2.If you are looking for a good motherboard for this CPU get either the Asus Rampage II Extreme or the EVGA Classified. |

Cons:expensive, though it is newit will get hot if you OC
Pros:Great all around-awesome at overclocking-stock heatsink is great if you don't OC Comment:
I decided to get this after reading so many reviews on it and I can honestly say it is amazing. It overclocks like a champ and is very stable. Good thing I got the 120 Extreme to cool this because it does run hot. |

Intel Core i7 920 Quad-Core Socket 1366 Processor
Cons:I dont like the original fan grapping in the 4 holes in the motherboard - Intel could have done much better. It feels like the fan will fall off.
Pros:FAST, incredibely fast. The task manager sees 8 CPU (4 cores x 2 threads). With 3GB DDR3 for the i7 and a P6T motherboard = FANTASTIC Comment:
Impressive performance. I left every BIOS settings at AUTO. I dare not do overclocking. All information on overclocking for this Core i7 and ASUS P6T motherboard are way over my head. Interesting enough, in WIN XP I could not install 1st Page 2000 (not 2006) and Words for Windows 95. These 2 programs I could install in WIN-XP with a Pentium 4 (3.06 Ghz HT). |
Replaced a dual core 6300 with this chip. While not revolutionary improvements, it still runs everything I have appreciably faster. Haven't tried O/Cing yet, but apparently is easy to do with this chip. Once the price comes down and more budget 1366 boards become available, this will become an easy upgrade choice for all.
