Intel Core i7 940 Quad-Core Socket 1366 Processor
Cons:Pretty Expensive

Pros:Very Very Fast CPU!!!Overlocks like a monster!!!
Comment:
This thing is a monster! Runs smoothly on any application, any game, and anything else you throw at it. Im running it with the Prolimatech Megahalems and it keeps it very cool even overclocked to 3.8Ghz.

wow
Comment:
no cons. fast and easy to install. just make sure you have enough wattage in your power source to handle it, and enough fan to keep her cool (i would upgrade from the fan it comes with, but then again; i never used it so who knows. it may be fine).

Intel has laid the smack down with this beast
Comment:
I have had this for a couple of weeks, with the msi eclipse, 12gb ocz 2000mhz "overclocked", gtx 295 and it just blows away my previous build. For extreme overclocking turn off hyperthreading to go from 8 cores down to 4 this will give you a more stable system. What else can I say but, wow....

Intel Core i7 940 Quad-Core Socket 1366 Processor
Cons:Does "forced to use DDR3" count?

Pros:Crazy fastQuad Core with HYPERTHREADING
Comment:
I upgraded from a old Pentium M....and there is a major difference in speed and performance. I've compiled the linux kernel(2.6.29rc5) with no optimizations, took 20minutes..what used to take 2-3hours on my Pentium M. Managing multiple tasks is seamless, You can minimize out of a high demanding game open real heavy applications and return to the game with minimal lag. Down side? have to use DDR3? uh this isn't really a downside in terms of speed, it's just that you are force to use DDR3.

Intel seems to get a kick out of blowing away the rest of the field. I bought this with the 58SO board and 6 gigs of Corsair Tri channel ram.Without any over clock or advanced cooling it smokes anything I have ever seen. I guess the 965 will be faster but the price is out of my reach In the meantime this CPU and board are ROCK'N'ROLL buy it and hold on to your shorts cause it will amaze you

Intel Core i7 940 Quad-Core Socket 1366 Processor
Comment:
I purchased this CPU with an Asus Rampage 2 Extreme and 3 gigs of of ocz triple channel pc 10600 ram. i upgraded from a q9300 and a 790i. and im amazed at how much faster this is. in 3d rendering this CPU is 2-3 times as fast as my q9300. also this CPU made me run crysis 5-7 fps faster. the cooler that comes with it isn't bad. it comes with thermal paste pre applied and keeps the cpu at 50 c when its been running at 100% usage for 45 minutes. overall its a very nice CPU and i am extremely happy. i recommend to anyone who has the money. BTW you cant use ram with a voltage higher than 1.65.
