Fantastic CPU
Comment:
My first time putting a system together and I could not have chosen a better set of items to install (I've replaced single items many times, but never a mobo or CPU). I bought a new XFX mobo and OCZ memory to go along with this PCU and the installation was quick and easy minus a little issue with the hard drive actually working. My system is AWESOME! I purchased the combination of CPU, mobo and RAM for very specific reasons and my expectations were met and exceeded!

Comment:
These Pentiums are some sweet processors for the money. For only being dual core they sure perform well. Its Intel say no more.

E5300 2.6Ghz Dual Core GREAT
Comment:
Mounted on P5N-D mobo without issues. Even though CPU came with a fan, I installed an 8W553 CPU cooler instead. Running W7 Pro 64-bit. Playing Left 4 Dead 2 without an issue. Everything maxed out! Great combo deal for the buck!

great deal for the price
Comment:
Excellent for its range. Fast, runs cool. It was nice to see that it came with the CPU fan and heatsink. The thermal paste wasn't included, but if you looked closely at the heatsink, you'll find that a layer comes pre-laid, just be careful pulling it from the package that you don't damage that layer of paste.

Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5300 Dual-Core Socket 775 Processor
Cons:None really. It doesn't compete with $200+ quad core CPU's, but it shouldn't have to. For 95% of users, this CPU is plenty!

Pros:Fantastic budget dual core CPU that is just about all that a user who doesn't game heavily or multitask like crazy would ever need. Low power consumption, too!
Comment:
I actually bought the slightly slower Pentium DC E5200, but it's so similar to this one that a review applies to both chips (it runs a mere 100 MHz slower!). I used it to upgrade someone's Core 2 Duo E6320 (1.86 GHz, 4MB of cache) and they noticed a tangible upgrade in how Windows ran and how fast their games ran. They were not overclockers, and ran both CPU's at their stock clockspeeds.

Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5300 Dual-Core Socket 775 Processor
Cons:None that I can think of

Pros:- Low power consumption- Good budget price
Comment:
Purchased for a HTPC, torrents and light gaming build. Low power consumption was a must since the computer was going to be on 24/7. Because of the gaming aspect I chose the E5xxx over the E3xxx series because of the doubled l2 cache g 2mb. I chose the E5300 over the E5200 because of Intel VT.On stock settings at idle the chip runs at 36 degrees with power consumption at 65W.Specs:Intel E5300P5QPL-VM EPU2x1gb DDR2-800 Kingston ValueramAsus EN9500GT/DI

Comment:
This cpu is great in it's class. Works and preforms better than expected. Fast and easy install, nice to have thermal paste already installed on the fan assembly as well. Makes installation a snap. Runs very cool, even while multitasking and game play. Will be buying more for sure....

If you are looking to upgrade your old mother board with something a little more up to date, this item is a great buy for the price. Think about it...going from lets say a P4 to this is a pretty sweet deal for seventy bucks.
