My issue and purpose I gave threeǛ eggs is mainly because on the component I got the "key" pin was not removed. So it would not fit into my IDE ribbon that I have. Not figuring out what pin the important was, created it hard to get it to operate. I had to drill a modest hole into my IDE ribbon to let the essential pin slip in ( I wasn't certain about cutting the pin) after that worked perfectly.

Was able to get all of the information off of my failed laptop drive. I hooked the harddrive up via a external USB CD-Writer. I removed the CD Drive and place my hardrive in its spot then plugged it in. the energy connector pins are a tiny loose.

Excellent small factor. Helped me recover data from a failed laptop difficult drive. Did everything I expected. It is a little cheaply built. The HDD connector seems incredibly loose when I attempt to disconnect a hard drive. But that is what you expect when you get a thing for 5.50. Overall, it is cheaply built but it got the job completed and none of my data was lost.

This cable was extremely useful in transferring all data. I had a firewire->IDE difficult drive enclosure which I regularly use for transferring information from hard disk. Its an adapter..... Not considerably to it.Worked fine to take the western digital drive out of my dead dell inspiron and put the drive into my old dell optiplex gx270 so that I could retrieve some files that escaped my normal backup to an external drive. It wasnt cost-free with cost-free shipping.

It comes straight off to reveal the normal 44-pin laptop IDE connector underneath, or at least it did on the unit I worked on. HP presumably puts their own adaptor on for a a lot more reliable connection to the internal PCB edge connector when you slide the drive caddy assembly back into the laptop, with much less risk of bending pins from not getting it line up exactly... but it ought to come off with no a lot fuss.
