Cons:Small size

Note: Order a 2.5" to 3.5" bracket $1.93 for this SSD (SKU 65321) This is a nice drive that has good SSD garbage collection built in to support non-trim supported OS's, and uses the same controller as used in Macbook Air SSD, so you know it's reliable! (unlike some Sandforce-based models).I wanted to upgrade my parent's computer from slow old 80GB seagate IDE harddisk, and also at the same time do a MB and CPU replacement. With this SSD there is a VERY large improvement in startup times and program startup time. I didn't really care about getting a SSD with SATAIII support, as this is a big bump in speed compared to a spinning HD.I was able to clone the old 80GB HD to the new 64GB SSD by shrinking the NTFS partition with gparted live cd, and then cloning that shrunk partition with Clonezilla live cd. (You need to save shrunk partition using 'saveparts' to file on external HD, then restore that cloned partition back to new SSD, and mark it as bootable in flags in gparted)

It says 5x faster than a 5400rpm laptop drive and it really is 5 times faster than my old 80gig sata drive. Renewed my love for my laptop!

I buy this with my i5 2500k and mb combo and install my window 7 pro on it. But it does load very fast anything in that drive. It is only 60g but after installing your windows in there, there are still 30+ gigs left for other stuff.

Kingston SSDNow V100 Series 64GB 2.5IN SSD SATA Solid State Disk Flash Drive
Cons:none as of yet

Pros:economical, fast to use, quick, great upgrade for older and newer laptops with physical drives!
Comment:
I've been thinking about adding an ssd for over a year now and saw that Kingston are one of the reliable ones and are backed by a good warranty. I really like my Thinkpad T60, but found the original drive slow, so I backed up the my laptop's drive onto an external, popped out the original physical drive, replaced it with the Kingston, slapped in a Win 7 disk and there you go. My system is so much snappier now it's amazing. I haven't timed it, yet reboots are quicker, but the real improvement webpages, apps,etc... they load so fast now. This is not the fastest ssd on the market, but since my older laptop has an older sata controller I didn't care. With the speed increase, I'll probably get an extra 2 years out of the laptop. You have to keep in mind that hard drives are constantly caching and burping away, a snappy ssd makes things way more efficient with less wait states.cheers!SEADRIVE

Kingston SSDNow V100 Series 64GB 2.5IN SSD SATA Solid State Disk Flash Drive
Cons:Not as fast as the latest(more expensive)SSDsStill a high price/gig compared to regular hard drives.

Pros:Great price on sale.Runs cool and quiet.Getting speeds close to the advertised specs.
Comment:
Bought this SSD to add some pep to my older LG775 Win7-64 system. Boot times have dropped to under 15 seconds and applications open instantly (MS Office and Adobe PDF) This SSD is big enough to hold the OS and core software programs. I use a 1Tb hard drive for any data storage. I have previously upgraded my CPU (E6600 Wolfdale)and video card (HD5670) but the SSD definitely gave me the most noticeable bang for my buck!

Kingston SSDNow V100 Series 64GB 2.5IN SSD SATA Solid State Disk Flash Drive
Cons:Started to "chkdsk" after 4 months, andFailed after 5 months and a half.

Pros:Pretty fast as a system drive
Comment:
I was pretty excited when I bought this drive, 6 months ago. I installed the firmware update  as recommended, just before moving my C: drive on it.After some time, Windows started to check the disk at bootup even thought the SMART status was perfect. Some time after, the system drive became corrupted after a chkdsk and a lot of programs weren't working anymore. The story ended after it weren't recognized anymore by the BIOS nor a SATA-to-USB converted. I'm happy to have backuped all my data a week earlier.I RMA'd it and still waiting.

Cons:Not the fastest, but Ok: faster than any HD anyway.New technology.

Pros:Fast start of OS and programs, no more wait after the mouse click.Optimized for Windows 7 (TRIM support).
Comment:
Adding this SSD to a Win7-64 desktop is really a nice upgrade (Athlon II X4 630 based). The system is now much more responsive, even with many applications. I installed the OS and programs on the SSD, and use a HD for the users' data and videos.

Fast when it worked. Windows locked up, rebooted and the Dell E5410 I had it in no longer detected a boot device. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Consumer , We have discovered a technical concern with our SSDNow V100 which could result in drive failure. Even though we have observed this concern in only a small percentage of drives, Kingston strongly recommends that a new firmware update D110225a be applied to all V100 drives to prevent achievable failure. Got this drive on sale to try out a SSD without costing too much. it works very well(Will use it as a Z68 Cache drive later and see how that works.). With its GC feature, it would also be a good drive for an old XP system.

Cons:Very power hungry

Pros:Fast in every day usage, and relatively inexpensive.

This is an excellent drive for desktop use, or laptops which mostly stay plugged in. The speed boost is huge over conventional laptop platter drives, but unfortunately this model really tends to suck power.

Comment:
This is a great SSD, I got it on sale at $82. A 2.5in to 3.5in adapter would be appreciated since my case does not have SSD brackets (I have a Antec P182) but I'm still satisfied with my purchase.

Cons:Low capacity, still expensive nowadays, SATA2 only

Pros:Great read/write speed, fast boot, easy to install, does not heat too much

Using SSD as Windows system drive only, had to do some tweaks and relocate some folders, otherwise programs start fast with it. Cheapest I found for an SSD for now.

Kingston SSDNow V100 Series 64GB 2.5IN SSD SATA Solid State Disk Flash Drive
Cons:Would develop disk errors after about two months use, then refuse to boot into Windows.

Pros:Much faster boot ups than with a standard 7000rpm drive.
Comment:
Was happy with this drive until it craps out. After the first two months booted up and diskcheck kicked in and spent ten minutes finding errors then refused to boot into Windows. Reinstalled, lasted another two months before moving to another system, where it lasted a month before diskcheck kicked in again, found pages and pages of errors then refused to boot into Windows.RMAed it one week ago, they received five days ago and still waiting to hear back. On the bright side, they did pay International Economy Fedex back to them..though it was a difficult process as I don't live near a Fedex depot (they don't cover pickup). I'm giving them three stars in the hope it arrives soon.

Works out of the box. Booting up windows is snappy (~20 seconds). Game loads in a few seconds. Good performance at this price point (I bought it for $75). Although it's labelled as 64GB, Windows 7 sees it as having a capacity of 60GB.
