Kingston SSDNow V100 Series 64GB 2.5IN SSD SATA Solid State Disk Flash Drive
Cons:-runs a bit hot under load for an SSD I noticed, might not be good for laptops-essential that you have updated firmware, though mine came shipped with it (D110225a).

Pros:-Speedy for price range-Good size for OS drive
Comment:
bought this for a bigger OS drive. Like any SSD it's much snappier and faster than any HDD, so if you can find it cheap like this (~$75) be sure to pick one up.

Kingston SSDNow V100 Series 64GB 2.5IN SSD SATA Solid State Disk Flash Drive
Cons:Size is finally not big enough, but if you move the "My Documents" on another drive and install only the minimum, it's ok. A 120Gb would have been better, but it's my mistake.

Pros:-Windows 7 is way faster with this. Boot in 15 seconds.-The system always seem to answer. No more hangup.-Cheap and it has the latest firmware.
Comment:
This is my first SSD and it's great. The system is a lot more fun to play with. If you click on something, you don't wait too long before it's there. For 80$, it's a good upgrade. I don't know if I should have wait and buy a OCZ Agile 3 60GB for 90$. OCZ seem to have a lot of problem with the durability of the 25nm flash memory so I hope the Kingston with the 34nm technology will be better. And NCIX is as always great to do business with.

Kingston SSDNow V100 Series 64GB 2.5IN SSD SATA Solid State Disk Flash Drive
Cons:Not the fastest SSD in the worldNo real support software

Pros:Good speed for the dollarClearly reduces laptop power consumption
Comment:
I bought this to replace stock HDD in T420. Has worked great so far, no problems to date. It's not the fastest SSD on the block, but it's definitely an improvement over having an HDD in terms of weight, data safety and power consumption. SSDs are changing in price very quickly, so this may very quickly not be the best bang for the buck. Still, no stability issues compared to my OCZ Vertex 3 which has been a bit of a nightmare.

Kingston SSDNow V100 Series 64GB 2.5IN SSD SATA Solid State Disk Flash Drive

I have a Crucial RealSSD C300 64GB as my OS/applications drive and purchased this one for general file storage. I also run one game from this drive, Dead Space. It just does not cease to amaze me how fast these SSD drives are. Do yourself a favour and at least upgrade your OSD drive to SSD!!

Kingston SSDNow V100 Series 64GB 2.5IN SSD SATA Solid State Disk Flash Drive
Cons:It is rather important that the firmware is update d on this as it could fail otherwise. I bought an external DVD player to update  the firmware and later found out that it was already update d.

Pros:All the pros that one would expect of any recent SSD.
Comment:
This is a decent SSD. I have it installed in a netbook and its compliments the purpose of it perfectly. I used it for school. Boot up, and shut down, times are super quick.I choose this over other brands because it seemingly had a better reputation for reliability at the time. I do recognize that it is not as quick as some of its contemporaries, but believe the difference is so negligible that it is irrelevant. If you come from a 5400 or 7200 rpm hard drive you will not be disappointed.

Cons:not the fastest

Pros:fast!cheap!
Comment:
Yup. It's being used as my boot drive on a Windows 7 PC. It works well. System starts up very snappily and programs are highly responsive. Howver, it's not super high capacity so if you have a lot of games, you might need to use a hard drive. also, it's faster than an HDD, but it's pretty old and slow as far as SSD's go overall. but its' cheap.

Great drive (so far) and a great value for the everyday customer. There is an emergency firmware update  which my drive didn't need so, most likely, all new NCIX stock is update d.

Kingston SSDNow V100 Series 64GB 2.5IN SSD SATA Solid State Disk Flash Drive
Cons: None

Pros: FastOne of the cheapest SSDs
Comment:
Though not the fastest SSD on the market, it is a great step up from any platter drive. I was debating a new build to replace my Q6600 setup, but thought I'd try an SSD upgrade first. What a difference! Probably the biggest difference of any upgrade I have done since switching from single to multi-core CPUs. It breathed new life into my old system, and makes everything snappier. Mine came with the newest firmware installed, but make sure you check the Kingston site to see if yours does. And don't forget to buy a 3.5 inch drive bay adapter as this SSD doesn't come with one. I PM'd the OCZ adapter down to dirt cheap and it worked great.

Kingston SSDNow V100 Series 64GB 2.5IN SSD SATA Solid State Disk Flash Drive
Cons: Complete failure.

Pros: Very quick.
Comment:
This drive was very quick and responsive when installed, but needed a firmware update  that wasn't widely publicized. Because I didn't know to do the update , the drive failed catastrophically. Unfortunately this ends up being user error, but I wish at least NCIX tracked whoever ordered this drive and warned them, as Kingston should have warned NCIX.For anyone who hasn't done the update  and whose drive is still working, do it now!http://www.kingston.com/support/ssdnow/v100_firmware.aspThis failure makes me completely unsatisfied with the drive and I warn other users against it. I really hope that the replacement drive, once update d, is more reliable.

Cons: None that spring to mind in this price range

Pros: Good performance and price
Comment:
This disk is behaving well in a compaq mini running linux. Very quick to load and run applications. It seems to be working extremely well. The hard drive it replaced is no match for this, although win 7 must be a handicap in itself with such a low end spec machine. Memory upgrade coupled with this hard drive makes the small machine a pleasure.

Kingston SSDNow V100 Series 64GB 2.5IN SSD SATA Solid State Disk Flash Drive
Cons: Failed early

Pros: Faster than HDD
Comment:
This drive greatly improved my boot time but failed after 3 weeks. I was unimpressed. My day was somewhat broken as a result. I spoke to Kingston and I received a new drive on the 4th business day the conversation. I had to deliver the drive to Fedex but I discovered several days after receipt that Kingston sent me a V+ replacement. I had no problems with the V model(until failure) but I would not have posted a review in any case. The rapid response by Kingston and the product upgrade is a different story. I have not installed my new V+ drive yet (I'm sure it's OK) but I am very satisfied with their processing and the upgrade was icing on the cake. 4 stars for Kingston.

Cons: A few tweaks to optimize

Pros: Fast and Reliable, runs cool, easy to fit anywhere
Comment:
I'd dual booting with an OS on a regular hard drive, and notice a clear difference when booting from the SSD. It's faster when booting, opening programs, and executing database operations. To maximize, make sure your it is your system partition and that you do a few tweaks:http://www.techspot.com/guides/246-ssd-performance-tweak-utility/

Kingston SSDNow V100 Series 64GB 2.5IN SSD SATA Solid State Disk Flash Drive
Cons: Kingston website does not provide 4kb random read/write speed, but you can find it on Google.

Pros: Improved game loading speed, Windows start up speed, installation speed, etc.
Comment:
Switching from a WD black 1TB HDD, I can't say I'm that impressed, until I start playing games on it.Tweaks are done, system tuned. I will not talk about specific synthetical numbers, because you can find accurate numbers here:http://www.ssdreview.com/ssd-review/compare/kingston-ssdnow-v-100-64gb-25-inch-d100811a/Windows 7 installation finishes in 8 minutes. Good enough.Start up speed. WD black 1TB finishes loading everything in 1m45s. Kingston v100 64gb does the same job in 60s. Both time including 30s post time. System start up includes Logitech SetPoint, G-series Profiler, G27 gaming software, EVGA Precision, Nod32 antivirus, ZoneAlarm firewall. Windows 7 shuts down in 3s.Software installation and loading: 2~5 times faster, but those installations didn't take much time on the black HDD anyway. Photoshop takes 2 seconds to start, other programs load instantly.Game load. I tried five games so far.Divinity II: load up area 1~3 seconds faster. Fair enough.Supreme Commander: Hardly notice any change, maybe map loads 1 second faster, I can't tell. During massive units play, it slows down just like before. Maybe it's system bandwidth limited.Counter Strike 1.6: map loads in 1 seconds. Fair enough.Assassin's Creed: Whenever there's loading, it loads instantly or within 1 seconds. It's about 3 times faster. Now here's the good one, Need For Speed 14:1. Do you remember before each match, you need to select  a car? Now, each of these cars shows up right away as I scroll back and forth! On HDD, it took 3 seconds for a car to show up when I scroll over 20 cars, I'm pulling my hair. This change is simply great!2. Do you remember how long it takes to load up a match on a HDD? For me, it was over 10 seconds, sometimes maybe over 15 seconds. Now, it is 3 seconds! Very impressive. No more frustration when I restart a match.1All in all, this is a good buy. Total 59.6GB usable. I give 32.0GB to Windows 7 64 bit and some softwares, with 27.6GB to game partition. This SSD is 67% loaded, no noticeable1 speed drop  so far.Price was 79.99 when I got it from elsewhere. For a first SSD, its value is good enough. However, I might look at a Sandforce 2000 drive next time, because this kingston SSD cannot satisfy me with windows start up time.System: Intel QX9650, 400x10Asus Maximus Formula (RF BIOS 0803)Kingston PC2-9600, 4X1GB EVGA GTX285Seasonic M12 700W

I bought this for my wifes work comp. More than enough storage room for her needs and installed a 500gig HDD for her back-ups. First time I've used one, so I was curious how it stacked up against my system which has WD 1 TB Black Hdd. Well I want one for my comp now!!! I'll need about 120gigs or more but well worth the upgrade from HDD.Note that you don't defrag these things so you'll have to read up on proper use. It's easy though and you need to monitor the life span of the drive, Easy to do with available software. Don't let that scare you from using. The price for these is now at a point where it can be afforded and the performance boost is well worth it, at least thats my opinion. I"ll be replacing my Hdd as soon as I can afford it.

I'm a casual gamer, mostly using my computer to surf, but this month I decided to go all out and build myself a real gaming PC. I had no experience with SSD's prior to this, but after reading the forums here I decided to spend a bit extra and go for it.Now I have only owned for half a month, but WOW. Windows 7 starts up amazingly fast, i'm literally ready to go in seconds!I'm no expert, but I'd have to say if you're simply looking for speed at a good price (esp on sale!), this drive will definitely do the trick.
