LG W2442PA-BF Black 24" 2ms Widescreen LCD Monitor Built-in Speakers
Cons: -needed color calibration-circular base is a bit big

Pros: -fast response time-price-thin panel
Comment:
Purchased 2 of these for the side monitors in my nvidia surround setup (Using dell 2408wfp for the middle monitor). Color Calibrated to : red=60, green=50, blue=40, brightness 100%, ace = 1, acm =1. This improved the image quality quite substantially from the out of the box settings, although Further calibration is necessary for fine tuning it. Gives me the peripheral vision of nvidia surround at a reasonable price.

LG W2442PA-BF Black 24" 2ms Widescreen LCD Monitor Built-in Speakers
Cons: -Doesn't seem stable enough to withstand a hit on the table (if you ever feel like hitting your knees or toes on the table legs)-I've seen better designs

Pros: -Easy to Change source (HMDI,DVI,VGA)-Not a lot of reflection-Clear image, even when facing sunlight-Bought at 190$, awesome price for this size and quality
Comment:
You can switch between HDMI, DVI and D-SUB easily with a "Source" button in front the monitor. The powering up(when you turn on the monitor and the source is already working) speed is good enough ; it takes longer than my LG W1934S but is still faster than my BenQ V2210 (these tests were performed under the supervision of my patience). There are three different physical input for video(and media) : D-Sub, DVI, HDMI. All of them are spaced in a way they don't interfere with each other and positioned so there's no bending stress on the cables or connectors even at the lowest position or close to a wall.Sound output is at the same place, didn't test it.When I open it or touch any corner, it starts wobbling (design can't supress the momentum efficiently and/or base dimensions aren't adequate for the monitor's).Other than that, well it's serves its purpose well and I'm no specialist so I won't go into the details with shading, colors and whatever most people won't bother to consider before buying. I like Asus's designs better.

LG W2442PA-BF Black 24" 2ms Widescreen LCD Monitor Built-in Speakers
Cons: Could have had a couple more input options (ie RCA in for video editing setups)

Pros: Great SizeClear pictureVery nice looking monitorSale Price!
Comment:
I had one of these prior, and since I decided to upgrade to eyefinity I grabbed another 2 on sale to complete the 3 head system. They look magnificent lined up together and I've been lucky that no dead/stuck pixels have shown up. The black semi-matte bezel looks nice, and the monitor can stand higher (elevate) as well as tilt up/down, which is helpful for aligning out the mini gaps for eyefinity.

LG W2442PA-BF Black 24" 2ms Widescreen LCD Monitor Built-in Speakers
Cons: The only small weakness is that the speakers don't amplify the sound much and are a little tinny. The tinniness is what you would expect from monitor speakers, but the low volume when watching videos that haven't been adjusted for sound can be annoying at times. However, they're still better than the laptop speakers they're substituting for, and they'll do until I can afford proper external speakers. They're acceptable for skyping, but if you listen to music while working or play games, get external speakers if you can afford it.

Pros: This monitor is great, I've never noticed a problem with the refresh rate. When I first hooked it up I would get slight buzzing at full brightness, but that has disappeared. The stand is nice and sturdy, and I really like the adjustable height feature - it adjusts smoothly and without much effort, but then stays at the new height.
Comment:
I am very glad I got the no dead pixel guarantee - my first one had a stuck green pixel right in the centre of the screen that I couldn't stop staring at. It was easy to return, however, and the second one arrived with no problems. It's definitely worthwhile to pay extra to make sure there are no dead or stuck pixels!

LG W2442PA-BF Black 24" 2ms Widescreen LCD Monitor Built-in Speakers
Cons: Screen slightly blue, difficult to calibrate, other owners may report dead pixels. Not as good as LED for image quality.

Pros: Pivot, fast 2ms GTG response, good contrast, great price.
Comment:
Works fine even for games and is the cheapest gaming monitor with a HAS so you can pivot for reading text. For pure text, the Samsung 2443BW-HAS has the edge but costs a lot more. Less one star only due to the default bluish tint setting. Hopefully LG will dish out an LED version next year at the same price point.

Cons: Color PresetsViewing Angles

Pros: High Contrast RatioPerfect MotionExcellent Screen UnifomrmityNo Backlight BleedAccurate Color after CalibrationErgonomic StandPrice
Comment:
This LG is a steal, it has a much better contrast ratio and black level then the Samsung PX2370 and costs 120$ less. Motion is perfect, there is no ghosting or color streaking during games/films or in motion testing programs like PixerPixAn. Screen uniformity is outstanding for a TN panel, nearly as good as an S-PVA or IPS panel. The contrast ratio is as high as they come at over 900:1, which can only be topped my S-PVA and C-PVA panels.

LG W2442PA-BF Black 24" 2ms Widescreen LCD Monitor Built-in Speakers
Cons: A tad too bright... for my liking but not a real bother to me. Volume controls on the front are a tad daft.

Pros: Awesome tilting base (can go 90 degrees... although I haven't tried it yet). Decent colour calibration tools
Comment:
I've been using this a 2nd monitor/tv (from our cable box) and it works great. The cheapest way to get an HDTV! The volume from the onboard speakers is quite low but they provide an audio output jack to go to the computer speakers or sound system... which works well.

Excellent Monitor
Comment:
This is an Excellent Monitor for everyday use. Its got the minimum ports (HDMI, DVI, and VGA and built in speakers). The monitor is very easy to adjust in every direction. It is also very stable (ie it cant be easily knocked over). The picture quality is decent. I compared it with my laptop screen and its pretty good, although not as bright and as 'colourful' but close enough (for me). The price point is reasonable, but I got mine on sale with $80 off so the for me the value is high. Overall I would highly recommend this monitor for an average user.

Exacltly what I wanted
Comment:
I really wanted a monitor that had a lot of adjust ability and this thing is perfect it can go over 4 inches up or down, has loads of tilt and it swivels 180 degrees when I have a client on the other side of my desk who wants to see what I am working on. My only thing is that I have the same model but a bit older that swivels like it's on butter. This one is ok but not as smooth as the one I have. It's great value and it had all the features I wanted and the price was right. It showed up much earlier than I anticipated-almost overnight. I love it.

Cons:None so far

Pros:No Dead PixelsHighly adjustable, Great variety of ports on monitorSturdy Stand
Comment:
I've been very impressed with these monitors so far. The panels arrived with no dead pixels and have a good brightness level. I'm very happy with the picture quality but I'm not a photo/video editor or anything. The monitors were very easy to assemble. I love the clean, professional look of the matte black finish as well as the sturdiness of the stand.

Pros:Vertically adjustable standLarge sizeHDMI InputHigh contrast
Comment:
Get the NCIX zero dead pixel warranty for a whole 12$. Chances are you'll need it. When I got a stuck pixel on the monitor out of the box, NCIX was quick to respond and send me back another one so no complaints there. However, I don't know what happened with LG when they were shipping these monitors. So many complaints regarding dead/stuck pixels is not normal. The new and revolutionary F-engine is complete garbage. You'll DEFINITELY have to adjust the RGB colors yourself to get an image that's comparable with other new monitors because the default settings are incredibly dark and faded. While using the F-Engine, it's annoying to switch between settings and the contrast setting remains consistent from one setting to the next which is ridiculous. Even then you're still stuck with an image that has cold and fairly lifeless colors. When compared with an Acer H233H it's not as bright and the colors are not as warm or as vibrant but the brights can be made brighter and the darks darker due to a higher contrast. Movies on the LG also look better relative to games for this reason. I'd have to recommend that you purchase the LG W2343T-PF 23IN if you have no interest in the HDMI input. For a much lower price it's one inch less and they claim the contrast ratio is much higher based on LG's standards (although I've never seen it in action personally). I was disappointed because I've come to expect higher quality products from LG but all in all it's a good monitor for the price (I got it on sale for 249.99$).

LG W2442PA-BF Black 24" 2ms Widescreen LCD Monitor Built-in Speakers
Cons:stereo audio out,weak built in speakerspoor brightness/contrast.

Pros:Large,Multi source inputs and select.
Comment:
Disappointing and hard to calibrate for the home user.I highly recommend the new 23 inch model over this 24.The 24 inch is large with a lower Dynamic contrast ratio, and lesser brightness. These monitors don't come per color calibrated and LG's advise for the F.Engine feature is useless. F.Engine is suppose to provide real color, and contrast by dynamic real time image processing but fails greatly.Calibrating the monitor is highly recommended, the default sets provide a yellow and dark image. The monitors options for HDMI, DVI and VGA is great and allows for each to be connected to a device with a input select  option. I have my computer connected to the DVI and my Xbox 360 on the HDMI, both use the audio out of the monitor but the audio is limited to stereo.Although the audio out is only stereo it can be used for headphones. The built in speakers are a nice though, but are quite week, much like cheap laptop speakers. The 23 inch model is much better value and quality over the 24 inch model.

Love this monitor
Comment:
This monitor has crisp definition. What I love about it is the ease in which you can turn it 180 degrees and adjust height and angle in a second so that I can use the screen one second from my desk and the next from my bed (to watch movies). My friend attached his x-box to it through the HDMI port for a great gaming experience. Two issues with it: 1 - I found it a bit pricey but paid the extra to avoid having to buy a mount and avoid the book stacking issue people had with other monitors and 2 - I had one dead pixel. I also had to adjust the text print so that I could read from a distance. Overall a great monitor.

LG W2442PA-BF Black 24" 2ms Widescreen LCD Monitor Built-in Speakers
Cons:-Built In Speaker Is BAD

Pros:-Price-Screen Size-Nice Quality Picture
Comment:
I bought this for myself to replace an aging monitor. I was a little worried about getting this one, only because I have always had a Samsung but have been very happy with my LG TV. When I first set it up I noticed a dead pixel. It wasn't in a bad place, but did a replacement as I had paid for the coverage. As always, NCIX customer service was great. I had a new one in a couple of days. The color looks as good as my Samsung did and is great for watching YouTube or movies on. I have tried a couple of HD videos as well and looks great. I also have a 15 ft HDMI cable that I can hook my PS3 up to. That also looks great, but not as good as on a good HDTV. As others have said, the built in speaker is really bad. It doesn't bother me much since I use my external speakers anyway. But for the odd time I use my PS3 on it I run the headphone out to my PC speakers. I would highly recommend this monitor, just don't use the on board speaker as your main one.

LG W2442PA-BF Black 24" 2ms Widescreen LCD Monitor Built-in Speakers
Cons:useless speaker

Pros:Height adjustableportrait modeaspect ratio correction button for old gamesNo glossy case/screen
Comment:
First of all, I have no dead pixel on mine although I paid the premium for coverage. When I looked for a 24" lcd back in August, I had two options that satisfy all my conditions:LG W2442PA and Samsung 2443BW. I pick this LG because of the price. This lcd doesn't look awesome honestly, but that's what I want. I really hate to see all shiny and glossy monitors on floor because they get dirty very soon, and the contents on the display are what I care. The monitor's default colour setting was not great, but I tuned it to very neutral setting after 20 minutes. The horizontal viewing angle is good for watching movies, but the vertical part is bad as other TN panels. Normally it won't bother me, but this lcd can pivot. The person next to the center can't see the display if the monitor is in portrait mode. The HAS works OK except the lock. The lock for minimum height is a thick wire pin at the back of the monitor. I wonder how I cannot lose it. The monitor can be raised more than 15cm so I can put my speaker below it Woohoo~.One nice feature is '4:3 in wide' button. It basically eliminate horizontal extension in full screen mode applications such as games. It is hardware solution, so it works in every situation. Thus, they are good both in conventional and wide screen formats.I found there is a set of speakers in the monitor, but I wonder why they are there. I guess no body would use that tiny speaker instead of headphones or even earphones.

I purchase this screen for a friend and the screen come with dead pixel in the center of the screen. Ncix refuse to repair or refund after only 1 day of purchase. I'm very unhappy, my friend will never buy from me again. You must take the dead pixel coverage with this screen! A good alternative is the samsung syncmaster P2370 (extreme quality monitor vs LG). I'm desapointed to have buy many stuff here and get cheap services after all. The garanteed is one of the most important think when you buy electronic stuff. I don't understand why I can get my money back or repair when I receive the sreen already broken. So be aware of this screen, you will be advise. Read all reviews and you will see that I'm not the only one.

Cons:Dead Pixels, 4 Monitors, 4 Dead Pixels. Colours aren't as crisp as they could be.

Pros:Nice Size, Decently Priced.
Comment:
The most important thing I can say about this monitor, is GET THE DEAD PIXEL COVERAGE. I bought this monitor in-store, and had to take it back FOUR TIMES. That's right, I had FOUR of these monitors pass through my hands and every single one of them had a dead pixel. After that, I had had enough and ended up buying a different monitor instead. I might have been happy with this monitor if it wasn't for the dead pixels, but I won't know for sure. I went with a Samsung after returning this, and I'm much happier with it. I wouldn't recommend this monitor.PS: Would have rated Two stars, but lost my Order ID.

Cons:~Dead pixels x2 (See my summary)~Minor backlight bleeding at the top and bottom of screen (Only noticeable with complete black background)

Pros:~The NCIX zero dead pixel coverage !!~Bright display~Height / swivel / tilt adjustable~Non-glossy finish~The blue led power button (I like the color blue lol)~Also, the screen is HUGE. A ton of real estate to work with
Comment:
First things first, the NCIX zero dead pixel coverage is a MUST buy! I didn't think I needed this coverage, but still decided to get it.So, I take this monitor home and set it all up, and unfortunately I found a dead pixel. Near the center of the screen, It was pink. Took the defective monitor back to NCIX, and exchanged it for another NEW monitor. It took a few days to get this monitor, due to lack of stock. Understandable. So, ready for round 2. The excitement about my 2nd monitor was short lived, when I found another dead pixel near the top left of the screen. This one was white. Gross !Took the monitor back to NCIX for my final exchange. So far so good. 3rd times the charm I suppose. Wowzorz. Sorry about the long story, I was trying to be thorough. The point I was trying to make was to get the dead pixel coverage. The NCIX team was also super helpful. Unfortunately for LG, I don't think I will be buying another product from them. It's sad, because I thought LG was a good company. Overall, it's a decent monitor for the price. You do get what you pay for.

LG W2442PA-BF Black 24" 2ms Widescreen LCD Monitor Built-in Speakers
Cons:Speakers

Pros:height adjustable, DVI cables included, sturdy stand, HDMI, audio in/out
Comment:
I looked at all sorts of monitors before settling on this one. The major reason being the height adjustable stand to match my iMac's 24" screen. I also use it with my Xbox 360. It's easy to swap between sources and having the audio out is key.The picture is quite good, not as good as the iMac, but after some calibration it's close. There's some light bleed along the top, but it's not too noticeable. When playing the Xbox at 1080p it looks freakin' amazing.Included in the box is DVI cable, VGA cable, audio cable & power cable (and some cd's that I probably won't use). The speakers are quite possibly the weakest things i've ever heard. I had to laugh when I heard them, but I knew they were bad when buying the monitor, I just use headphones. If you need a monitor that has it all at a good price, this is it.
