When operating does effectively, presents better range and speed than the older G unit I was operating Unit tends to get unstable and crashes. Generally reboots itself whenever the is heavy targeted traffic. Updated firmware and seems a bit far more stable, but have found a lot of complaints and equivalent troubles by way of google searches. Apple Television, ROKU, DIRECTV, and Windows based laptops had been in a position to stream multimedia content, iMac triggered a lot of reboots.

Setup was a breezeQuickly connection None that I can uncover appropriate now I haven't tried any on-line games but, but I will later. I'm making use of it for my PS3 given that the Playstation has a weak WiFi card in it. I was only finding a 15-20% signal strength with it. I wouldn't even stay signed into the PS Network while playing a game. Now that I'm using the bridge, it is estimating a 3.8Mbps download speed.

Cons:A bit expensive.

Pros:Very simple, handy device for devices without wireless networking capabilities.

I have a printer at home that did not have wireless networking capabilities but needed to be a floor above the router. Rather than spend more money replacing the printer or moving the network setup out of the basement, I just purchased this device to wirelessly bridge the printer to the network. Works like a charm.

Still operating after a year. Incredibly easy setup and fast connection. I got it connected to my blu-ray player and often (once just about every 15 connects)it won't choose up my connection. No major deal because I seldom use the blu-ray's connection. It's mainly applied as a hassle no cost firmware update. Also, if I reboot the blu-ray player it will generally perform, no want to reboot the adapter, so it might be my older player causing the issues.

Rapid, Straightforward to Setup, Good Bundled Software program, Good Help. I am working with this to stream HD media content from an upstairs office to a downstairs media cabinet. Operates good. I have had it drop off 1 time in the six+ months I personal it. I get no interference on the 5Ghz band. This bridge did what the netgeat equivalent wouldn't do. Spendy You get what you pay for. I personal and keep four small organization networks and one particular house network. I have applied netgear, d-link, and linksys products for a lengthy time. The linksys stuff comes with the ideal documentation and bundled application but is generally the most high priced.

Usable directly out of the box. Helpful automated setup application and one-touch setup buttons. Setup and configuration menu are linksys regular. Baseline functionality operates. Had to RMA the unit twice. Both units displayed the same signs and symptoms. Although the units connected on each wireless N and G, on both 5gh and two.four ghz, signal drop off was significant when paired with a WRT610N wireless router from Linksys. Three feet difference meant a wireless strength signal of 80%. A ten foot distinction and a single drywall meant 50% signal strength. This may also be due to the wireless router. Unconfirmed. Signal strength did enhance when the bridge was greater than the router. The largest concern was the configuration. Attempting to switch from auto-configured to manual leads the unit to lock up, which you have to unplug to get it to re-obtain the wireless network, even though the alter does come about. Other configurations such as the WMM display pre-set configurations but the unit refuses to accept these pre-set changes, taking 2 minuets to "load" and then showing the same screen. With the very first unit I contacted linksys support. Although incredibly helpful they had been unable to establish what was wrong with the unit and recommended RMAing it. I did so. The 2nd unit also displayed the exact exact same signs and symptoms described above. It is attainable they may possibly release a firmware version to repair this (this was on v1, Firmware 1..01) nevertheless I am RMAing the 2nd unit and getting a diverse Wireless Bridge.I rate the unit three stars for possessing baseline functionality (it connects and acts like a wireless bridge) but dock it a single star for not enabling advanced configuration adjustments and odd behavior for a total of two stars.I would advise this product for end users with tiny to no technical encounter who just want one thing that operates.

None that I can see. Quite huge. Range is a joke. Setup is a discomfort. The windows setup software is far also time consuming and could be far easier. I can't imagine how tricky these would be to use with a non-cisco router. I bought the E3000 and three WET610N wireless bridges to replace an aging D-Link DGL-4300. My 1st mistake was to fix one thing that wasn’t broken. I upgraded mostly for the wireless-N and greater security. Nothing at all genuinely was incorrect with what I had. Each the HTTP and Windows setup for the E3000 are really standard. Accurate customization is merely not attainable. I considered DD-WRT but knew that would void my warranty. My biggest problem with the E3000 is the range. It is not nearly as excellent as the 5 year old DGL-4300. None of the locations changed, the environment was specifically the very same. The old DGL-3420 bridges far outperformed the WET610Ns. I am returning the complete order and basically consuming the restocking fee of ฽. I spent hours and hours trying to get the E3000 and WET610Ns to run in location of the older 4300 and in the finish only gave up. Moral of the story is don’t repair anything that isn’t broken, you may well not like how it turns out.

Wonderful original notion. The item generally operates nicely, BUT if employed on a Computer, it is crippled by style from the start off.As this vendor so frequently does now, they dropped the ball in 1 important location and it ruins this item. There are only a couple of instances where this product need to be place to use (mainly if you have no USB ports or you have a game console) Read on... This is remarkable, and it is what product managers need to be fired for.802.11N is stated to be 270-300mbps (laboratory interface speeds that nobody can get close to). Actual Globe N throughput can be 100-150mbps (if you are extremely skilled and lucky). No one gets 200+, and these who post this are totally clueless. 300mbps at 90% error drops is 30mbps. The reported connection speed suggests Nothing to anybody, so cease stating this.My N*tGear USB N adapter currently gets 100-120 (Realworld) and I was hoping to get this bridge and get a additional stable 120+ via my wired Gbit NIC. But this is impossible. The wired connection on this device 100mbps. This is not stated by Linksys because it is aspect of their scam to act dumb and leave this spec out of their docs (on printed on the box). This product is almost of no genuine use to any individual. Awesome that this was made. As helpful as 100mhz DDR3 ram on a 4Ghz i7. What a scam.At least one particular other reviewer here understands this. Thanks!! It is amazing that there is not One PCI N adapter that operates past 50mbps (real) and all of them are being discontinued.Only 2-3 out of 100 USB adapters are not garbage. The routers/WAPs seem to be fine, but the client adapters just don't truly function however. This normal is only slightly less of a scam than the scam identified as 108mbps Super-G. That technologies really should have lead to a class action law suit. It was a full fraud that hardly ever (if ever) performed greater than 54mbps G in most any environment.Wireless Ethernet functions, for what it is. And what it is, has absolutely nothing to do with stated specs. This certain item could have turn into the only high performance player in the N game, but they blew it by saving Ū on the wired interface. Will reviewers stop saying "how rapidly" their World wide web connection is with N. None of you can use 54mps ྾ genuine world) G totally adequate, so cease with the N becoming "fast" comments, they are meaningless metrics with your ten-20mbps WAN connect

Set was simple enough following the on-screen directions from the set up computer software. Connected to Samsung DVD player and one more to an Xbox 360. Had no difficulty streaming fourǛ bars and "HD" from netflix without dropouts. In the course of 8 months I have had to run the set up system on both devices 3 occasions as they would no long connect to the network no matter what I did. In addition, they regularly drop the network connection among uses but I am typically in a position to either power cycle or use the speedy connect button on the access point and router to reconnect. This procedure is SLOW as is the power cycle. We have a 3500sq.ft two story property and the one particular I had up stairs (router down stairs) dropped the network and had a tougher time connecting routinely than the 1 closer to the router even even though our HP laptop has superb signal upstairs. Eventually moved them both down stairs and switched both to 5GHz band and have much better luck although they still drop the network far too often amongst utilizes. For this cost and when employed with a like wireless N linksys router I expect a lot far better outcomes. Over the time we have had them I really feel like I have regularly been battling them.

The setup was incredibly simple to comply with along with the CD walkthrough. I'm not testing the range on this but appears to perform fine and it saved me operating a network cable upstairs. Makes it possible for me to have many wired devices without needing a wireless card for every single one. It connected no difficulty with an older G router with WPA2 security. Also, once you do the initial connection (and possibly ahead of if it's wired, haven't tested it), you can directly connect to the device if you want to alter the individual settings later. I had an concern with this where it will lose the wireless connection and for some reason can't reconnect (-1 egg). Unplugging the power and waiting a handful of seconds and then plugging back in gets be back up and running in under 15 seconds. The challenge is rare and is simple to repair. I also haven't upgraded the firmware (assuming an upgrade is offered) due to the fact I noticed that is was on version 1. With it's uncomplicated setup and largely trustworthy usage, I'm giving it four eggs. I haven't had it long enough to test the ropes, but so far it seems to do the job fairly properly. Also, I recomend this device more than a wireless card due to the PRO talked about above, of having the capability to connect a number of wired devices away from the base router without having running any cables.

It's fairly convenient the moment you get this thing set up. I'm using it appropriate now on my laptop as my test subject. Don't have to be concerned about setting it up once more if you have to connect it to a various personal computer, it's fairly substantially all plug-n-play...that's following you get it set up even though. Setting up was practically a discomfort in the a**. I ought to have recognized that soon after connecting this factor to my router as setup told me to do, I shouldn't have utilized the similar computer system I was working with setup with to connect the WET610N. Just wanted to place that out there.but after that's more than with....it's smooth sailing from there. I knocked off one particular egg simply because of the setup hassle. What worked for me is that I had 1 Pc to set up and one more device that I wanted to use the WET610N with (which was my laptop but this is temporary simply because I purchased the WET610N for my future Xbox 360 that I reserved in the Contemporary Warfare two bundle) and of course your router.

It operates. Can stream video devoid of dropouts. Installed inside AV gear cabinet and it works even with doors closed. Worked the initial time I hooked it up to the AV gear employing a switch to connect both a BD DVD and a DTV DVR. Compact size and looks fantastic. Software would not function either hardwired to my router or wireless. Could not recognize my network or router, error 108. Went into Linksys program and manually configured it. It then connected. Tricky to tell if it was operating until it was connected to AV box. Only has one particular Ethernet connector which demands a switch to connect much more than a single AV box. Cisco/Linksys tends to make good hardware but poor setup software and documentation.

Totally none Worked for less than one particular day. Employed it ti make my blue ray player wireless. Watched one particular film by way of netflix. The next morning, watched 5 minutes of a film and the bridge locked up. 3 hrs later with useless tech assistance and nevertheless not operating. two Dixie cups and a string would work far better than this. Waste of time and funds. If you do buy it. Upgrade the firmware ahead of you use it or there is a good likelihood of it failing.

I use this bridge to connect my directv HDDVR's to the world wide web router. All items are Linksys and matched hardware (This is incredibly critical when building any wireless network unless you like fighting with compatability difficulties!!). Functions wonderful, east to setup, runs WAP2 with AES flawlessly, wonderful speed, wonderful item. Not for the novice... You are not going to be in a position to run the installer software and be up and operating like they claim. You have to recognize the concepts to make this work. As soon as setup is complete they run forever!! I have 4 total and they all work extremely effectively. Beats wiring my whole home. Directv and Blueray players all run perfectly on them.

None this issue is utter **** Didn't perform when, set it up tried to get it to work with numerous linksys technicians/senior technicians only to have absolutely nothing work at all and at some point have it lock up to where I can't even log in, linksys claims there is no likelihood for faulty merchandise in their firm and won't take it back, so now im stuck with this worthless junk and their WRT610N router that heats up and stops working unless I have a house fan blowing cold air on it which they also claim can't be defective even tho they can't get it to perform. I'm done with linksys I went by way of four of their WRT610N models in a month and a half to have all of them have a wide array of problems and now this, their good quality has fallen FAR from what it when was

Wireless N, Compact size. i bought it to attach to my Residence Theater Pc given that Vista Residence has that wonderful wireless connectivity issue. It works like a charm with it. Setup was a pain in the behind. The setup wizard didn't function the first time via. Second time it set up the wireless and then when I attached it to the device the wizard couldn't uncover it. So I went into the settings and had to fiddle with it. For sopme reason it wouldn't accept my WEP essential. I tried a various one and changed it on my router but it nonetheless wouldn't connect. Updated the firmware and it nonetheless wouldn't connect. Finally I changed from WEP to WPA2 on the router and then the bridge connected. Nevertheless no idea why it wouldn't connect with WEP, but as soon as it connected it's worked like a champ. If it was feasible I would have given it 3-1ǘ eggs. Now that it's working it works great. Obtaining it setup wasn't a smooth approach for me although.

Easy set up. Fails to hold a consistent wireless connection when utilizing WPA encryption. It appears to be associated to the essential renegotiation. Connects to a Linksys WRT610n. No other devices have a dilemma with this. Offered that WEP is not secure, this is unacceptable. Several individuals have complained about this issue, however the final firmware update was posted in Aug. 2009. Do not obtain this item till this concern is resolved. Linksys items have gone downhill due to the fact Cisco purchased Linksys. I will no longer purchase something created by Linksys.
