None this issue is utter **** Didn't perform when, set it up tried to get it to work with numerous linksys technicians/senior technicians only to have absolutely nothing work at all and at some point have it lock up to where I can't even log in, linksys claims there is no likelihood for faulty merchandise in their firm and won't take it back, so now im stuck with this worthless junk and their WRT610N router that heats up and stops working unless I have a house fan blowing cold air on it which they also claim can't be defective even tho they can't get it to perform. I'm done with linksys I went by way of four of their WRT610N models in a month and a half to have all of them have a wide array of problems and now this, their good quality has fallen FAR from what it when was |

Wireless N, Compact size. i bought it to attach to my Residence Theater Pc given that Vista Residence has that wonderful wireless connectivity issue. It works like a charm with it. Setup was a pain in the behind. The setup wizard didn't function the first time via. Second time it set up the wireless and then when I attached it to the device the wizard couldn't uncover it. So I went into the settings and had to fiddle with it. For sopme reason it wouldn't accept my WEP essential. I tried a various one and changed it on my router but it nonetheless wouldn't connect. Updated the firmware and it nonetheless wouldn't connect. Finally I changed from WEP to WPA2 on the router and then the bridge connected. Nevertheless no idea why it wouldn't connect with WEP, but as soon as it connected it's worked like a champ. If it was feasible I would have given it 3-1ǘ eggs. Now that it's working it works great. Obtaining it setup wasn't a smooth approach for me although. |

Easy set up. Fails to hold a consistent wireless connection when utilizing WPA encryption. It appears to be associated to the essential renegotiation. Connects to a Linksys WRT610n. No other devices have a dilemma with this. Offered that WEP is not secure, this is unacceptable. Several individuals have complained about this issue, however the final firmware update was posted in Aug. 2009. Do not obtain this item till this concern is resolved. Linksys items have gone downhill due to the fact Cisco purchased Linksys. I will no longer purchase something created by Linksys. |

fairly simple setup if you are familiar with Linksys items Inside 25 feet, the signal was down to 35% on two.4ghz and 25% on 5ghz. The device in no way connected at a lot more than 6.5mb/s speed. Also, I was attempting to get it to work with my slingcatcher without having any luck. The bridge itself worked mainly because the slingcatcher could connect to the web, but would not connect to the slingbox. Neither sling support nor Linksys could solve the problem. The distinction in between the two assistance is that the Linksys reps seriously had no clue. They were asking to access features that didn't exist on the web config, clearly showing that they are poorly trained and was confusing the product with the WRT610N router. Linksys also asked me to upgrade the firmware (which they didn't have any new firmware accessible). I tried to explain this fact to them and the offshore support didn't appear to realize. They asked me to do it anyway and wouldn't you know it? The firmware upgrade froze in the middle and killed the bridge. Linksys then asked me to replace it General, I may well have had a defective product which I am prepared to give it the benefit of the doubt. Do be conscious of the fact that if you buy this item, you are on your own and don't expect any meaningful assistance. Linksys is no longer the fantastic organization with fantastic merchandise that they applied to be. |

Setup was easy - pretty much too basic. Nice Cisco logo. I need to have read the other critiques about this device regarding dropping connections. I was incorrect for shopping for this with no heeding to others' assistance. They are totally right. Walk away from this 1.At only ten-feet away from the wireless 'LinkSys' router, it showed only 74% signal strength. At around 25 feet (through walls, thoughts you) the signal strength was a mere 45%. Okay, so that's acceptable, and conforms to propagation of signal loss for that distance. But, the connections would drop in minutes. So, thinking it was associated to the low signal strength, I moved it 6 inches away (really, 1ǘ of 1 foot) and even although the signal showed 98%, the connection continued to drop. Thinking it might have something to do with a DHCP IP address lease time-out, I challenging-coded the unit to an open address on my network. At 1st, it did not accept the static IP address, so I reconnected to it once more, soon after discovering its address through my leased IP addresses. Walk away from this 1. The unit runs hot. Perhaps this is an attribute to it's inability to hold a wireless connection? Attempt a different unit, or just difficult-wire your remote device; it will be much less painful in the long-run, specially if you are acquiring this for wireless video streaming, like NetFlix. No wonder why there have been so numerous poor reviews on NetFlix streaming via DVD Blu-Ray devices that are attached to this device. Oddly, it's the bridge that Sony recommends. I'll bet they will be changing their tune on that soon. Simply, the LinkSys WET610N, now by Cisco, is not prepared for prime-time release. It is an infant and inferior item that was almost certainly rushed to industry due to a series of sales and marketing meetings, without having regards to it's effectiveness or potential to even function properly. Frankly, it does not hold a connection reliably, at all. Fantastic possibilities, but, a poor design and/or firmware; it's just not a trustworthy device that's even worth a fraction of it's price. |

It's working. Networked a Samsung Blu-Ray player. So far I've only utilized it to play music on Pandora. Streaming Netflex may well be a greater test. I'll get back to you. Setup plan fumbled close to the end of the install. The program recommended a commence-over and If that doesn't work call the manufacturer assistance line. The install seemed to be going fine until it got to the network security concern. The bridge was displayed on MS Vista "view network" alternative. Double clicking the device icon attempted to open an interior page on the bridge. Deleting the extraneous page address from the browser address window brought me to the login page. The password was set by the previously attempted install. Setting the security settings manually was easy and the device was ready to go. |

Appears to be operating now, but haven't run it via its paces as of but. The CD install instructions didn't operate. It couldn't discover the bridge at all and kept telling me how to wire it all up, which was already accomplished appropriately. So even though it was looking, I looked up the IP address that my Time Capsule router had given it from my MacBook, then opened up http:/롘.168..14 (in my case) and guessed "admin" "admin" for the user and password, and yay! I got a net based config screen. I entered my wireless net information and it is now working. If I didn't have the encounter to guess that, I would have had to return it. I hope the actual use of this device goes smoother than the install. |

Device is straightforward to configure and set up and I was able to effectively do a firmware upgrade. I necessary an ethernet bridge to connect a building 500 feet away from major networked constructing. This bridge did connect OK but consistently blocked access to quite a few secure sites (discovercard.com, bank, etc) resulting in "timed out" error messages and "blocked by a firewall" messages. Soon after a firmware update, the issue remained. Even bought a replacement of the very same model immediately after a call to Linksys seemed to indicate it was a defective device, but the replacement had the exact same challenge. Returned this model and purchased a Cisco Business WET200 which is operating good so far for our demands! |

Functions as expected, when it works. Paired this with the WRT610N, for wireless access to World-wide-web streaming video (e.g. Netflix) on my Sony Blu-ray DVD player (Sony recommends this bridge for use with the player). For the initially week, the player would lose comms about just about every day - with an error message about how the network was down. I had to then bring the bridge to my router, wire them up, and re-execute the setup in order to get it to function. Then, I decided to configure the WRT610N to assign the WET610N bridge a fixed IP address based on its MAC address. Due to the fact then, it has required re-initialization only as soon as. When employing a wired connection from the Sony DVD player to the router to watch streaming World wide web video , there are never any issues. When going via the WET610N bridge, the DVD player frequently freezes (a couple of occasions per hour, at least). Occasionally it automatically recovers following a number of seconds and continues, but occasionally it restarts at the starting of the movie/show.This leads me to suspect that when the DVD player loses crypto sync with Netflix (e.g. due to lost/garbled wireless connection), it has trouble resyncing. |

Pretty blue LEDs. Received signal strength is SLIGHTLY much better than that received by the built-in wireless-G receivers on a PS3 and a laptop. Constantly loses signal, horrible set-up method. Bought to turn a Xbox 360 into a networked media center. So I spent an hour attempting to set it up with the included software utilizing the automatic protected set-up strategy. And I kept acquiring error 105. Lastly decided to set it up manually and got it working on the 1st try (WPA2). But through usage it would continually lose signal throughout transmission. I attempted changing various settings on my router (WNR3500) and logging into and making use of the bridge's configuration utility. Linksys' assistance on the concern was clueless. I eventually decided to upgrade the firmware but realized that the bridge had lost its settings right after lately power cycling it in an try to right my problems. So, screw that, I'm not wasting one more 15+ min operating through the set-up once more and then risking signal loss although upgrading the firmware. The frustration I've encountered employing this device over the last various days is just not worth my time any longer. I will be returning this ASAP! |

In a four.5K square foot finished residence. 5G signal is weak 7%; two.four much stronger, but expected that given the distance. No dropped signal troubles on either band, but have settled on employing 2.4 band with the stronger signal. Uncomplicated to setup. Intermittently failed to forward port 80 (http). Customer support completely unhelpful. The Linksys WET610N has been a mixed bag, ultimately causing me to return the unit for a refund. We began to have intermittent browser failures connecting to the web through this bridge. The difficulty would go away for a time if I reboot the bridge, but would invariably reappear. If Cisco would aid me fix the issue I would be pleased to keep the router, but I was told by Cisco support that I would actually have to *pay* to have my problem addressed. I located it considerably easier on my patience and pocketbook to merely return the bridge for a full refund. This is just 1 a lot more in a lengthy line of Linksys failures for me. Fantastic speed when it's connected. Using this with my ps3 which is 1 floor up, directly above my linksys e2000 router. Disconnects too often, normally as soon as or twice suitable when I turn on my ps3 and occassionally whilst gaming/netflix/other. Truly annoying. I've checked the signal strength on my laptop in the identical location and it's wonderful. Not sure why this linksys item doesn't work so well with another 1 of their goods. I'll nonetheless use it due to the fact I already have it, at least until I decide to run a cable directly to my ps3. But if I had known how sporadic the connection was going to be just before I purchased it, I would've passed on it. I would've been better off spending my cash on supplies to run an ethernet cable. |

I worked as advertised, within the constraints of a extremely brief range. The range was too short to be usable in a full-size house. The sensitivity and energy is just too low to be beneficial at this time. Perhaps when they get realistic and start multiplying the energy by five or 10 times will they be beneficial. I would skip this unless your range is inside 20-30ft of the major unit. |

Connects to wireless network and bridges IPv4 traffic. * Permits IPv6 auto-configuration, but blocks IPv6 targeted traffic leading to a much less than obvious failure mode.* Wired interface is not 1000baseT so this limits bandwidth to 100Mbps.* Automatically selects a single band two.4Ghz or 5Ghz at boot, no option to challenging set. Valuable item for some applications, but overprice for the crippled function set it delivers. |

Really easy to set up, works great so far. Quite Pricey. Gets pretty hot when in a smaller space. I purchased it for my first gen PS3 to make it wireless, and it functions wonderful for that objective
