Low-cost. Dead. Worked for a tiny over 2 months, utilized max 10x to burn dvds. I typically trust Lite-On but it let me down. Now I can't even return it to Newegg since its over the 60days. I have to deal with Lite-On. It expense much more to ship it to them then to acquire a new a single. I'm purchasing a ASUS.

Got this two days and am incredibly nicely pleased. Runs fantastic and quiet. Had to move jumper plug in the back from slave (SL) to cable choose (CS) for laptop or computer to recognize it. Dilemma solved. Product documentation would have been nice to have.

Tested it on my xp and windows 7 machine. Worked perfectly. Burned about 10 dvd's and three CD's, no coasters yet! Was shipped in two days. None that I can uncover.

- Effortless to install- Drivers were in the Windows XP library - IDE... I bought this for a client who needed an optical disc-based re-imaging. It took maybe 5 minutes to install (including screwing on Dell's green tray runners on either side) and Windows recognized it immediately. I burned a restore disc as a final test, which was deemed a good results. The only con becoming the fact that it was IDE was a limit of the motherboard, so it's not worth an egg.

Lite-on normally makes a SOLID burner with excellent write speeds and really low negative burns...my ihas 220 had 5 Bad BURNS IN 3 YEARS!!!!! This is not one of those drives, in fact shows up as a Toshiba Samsung drive....if that makes any sense at all, failed following two months...out of 10 BURNS ten Failed at 50%...Quite frustrating... Not even worth the RMA... going with a distinct brand, I feel betrayed by Lite-On....

Ive generally liked Lite-On Drives. Have never had issues with there drives. Will generally buy Lite-On drives until they prove me wrong. It doesnt wash my automobile.

nice updated version of my prior lite-on DVD burner,quieter & more quickly with excellent recording reproduction and playback ! you wont locate a far better OEM at the cost !

Basically flawless performance. At this cost you just giggle and move on. Purchase two and that disc-copy backup step will now support a higher range of media on your old parallel ATA memory-starved machine. n/a Keeping that Dell Dimension 8200 alive, and now simply burning DVD movies from VR files in Nero on a 24ǝ eight year old PATA XPsp3 Pentium four machine.

The drive works with my Liteon LVW-5045 None I can see The drive works fantastic! another note to hellp other people....I have had issues for years with my Liteon LVW-5045 and have more than and over searched the I-net for a solution but the units are old and outdated. Even so, when the DVD burner drive works it is a Good media machine. I put this drive into the LIiteon and it WORKED Wonderful! WARNING I did have to do a lot of ugly modifications to the front opening but for me entirely worth it to have my Liteon perform.

plays my sons kid movies . . . newegg's shipping is the whip! not subsidized by the government the old one played some but not all of his movies which would play in our newer stand-alone dvd player. this 1 plays those movies as nicely.
