Inexpensive, 550 Watts, 25A rail. Following 1 week it blew. Computer shut down though playing GTA IV and wouldn't turn back on. The green light on the mobo lit up showing that it was receiving power, but it would not turn on. Switched to one more PSU I had on hand and Pc is operating fine once more, just glad nothing else was damaged.

Best cheap/budget power provide company in my opinion. None... I use these PSUs all the time to make rigs for non gamers.

Has a ball bearing fan and is affordable. Lasted two days and then started shutting down before the method could even boot into XP. Replaced with an old 400 watt power provide and anything worked fine. Will try to RMA it back to the manufacturer. Will spend a tiny a lot more cash next time and get a trustworthy power provide.

Its an excellent design providing a steady 300W power output with 550W peak power output, and this is accurate if given a moderate to low operating temperature. . . so don't force it to eat all of the hot air from inside your personal computer case.120mm Fan. Of course I'd like to see a thermostatic model used to decrease the Level of heat inside the power provide in instances that the laptop or computer becomes warm. But, actually, I'm just glad that it can take any 120mm fan (including the properly working fan that it comes with, of course). At this price category, power ratings are "peak" ratings. Capacitor health extremely reliant on operating temp of personal computer--be confident the personal computer case is fairly cool inside (but, of course, all power supplies last longer when run on cool air instead of hot air). Note to Manufacturer--Use Chinsan Elite SD (FYI: Chinsan's Bangkok workplace is the only one that functions, so call them) or you can use any economical cap that can deal with High Heat. Nichicon would be beautiful, but I recognize that it would impact price; and, Elite SD is as good or better. Note to Manufacturer--Arrange shutdown circuit to occur at the typical figure between the peak rating and the constant rating, such as: 550w (peak) + 300w (average) and half of that combined figure is 425w, derate slightly, so shut her down at 415w, because some consumers aren't wise enough to prevent the mixture of an really power-hungry video card with an economic climate power supply--so save them! (by arranging a safety shutdown). Four of 3a diodes IS a correct discrete bridge rectifier. There are four of these inside of popular 1-piece rectifier units. I've no notion why Keerda chose additional labor for soldering; on the other hand, this distinction in bridge rectifier is look-only and has no electrical or good quality differences whatsoever. The rectifier included is perfectly fine. As for the Fuhjyuu caps and BH caps, success with making use of these is reliant on operating temperature. These are lower-temperature makes. As with any capacitor (used in this identical circuit) its operating hours versus temperature as the most important concern. Thus. . . As with any power supply, if you want it to last, don't blow all of the hot air from your personal computer into your power provide--cool your pc down with some thing else initially. We shall hope that the manufacturer soon makes a wiser choice of caps; but, as shoppers, we can make "wiser ventilation/cooling" and get the job done that way, just fine.

Single 12v rail, ᤙA, decently quiet ball bearing 120mm fan. See other thoughts. 550w rating is a bit misleading, I don't picture that this would output 550w for quite long without having giving off the magic smoke. If you read the label it says the output is 400w, not genuinely a con, you gotta spend to play as they say, but one thing to preserve in mind when deciding if it has sufficient juice for your application.

Got it on sale, for the cost it's a bargain. Low noise with great ventilation, with extremely acceptable ი V rail power output. Although it was not becoming taxed in the upgrade I was installing it in, ran incredibly cool all of the time. (Asus P5LD2 MB, Pentium D 3.0MHz, Saphire X1800XT Vid card, 1 ultra 100 PATA 160GB Drive) About a week soon after installation, the power on/off switch failed. There is now power to the motherboard regardless of the position of the switch (that is you can push the start button of the computer, and it will fire up with the PSU switch in the "Off" position). I began the RMA process for return to Newegg, but I feel I am going to put it on hold for awhile. I'm not too inclined to devote about half of what I paid for it to return a PSU that's flawed but working. If it lastly craps out (which by reading other reviews is most likely), then I will; for now, I can constantly unplug the cord if needed. Beside, there is no guarantee that the replacement will be any much better.

I have two of these items floating around, and they've each worked OK for over a year... almost two years on one of them. That's more than I can say for a lot of other cheapo brands. In terms of having a PSU to hold more than a lower-end system for awhile, then you could undoubtedly do worse. That doesn't mean it's good. This isn't a 550W PSU. It's not a 400W PSU, either, regardless of what it says on the label. If it had greater excellent capacitors and a right rectifier installed, you could in all probability get a stable 300W out of one of these. That's about what the internals are developed for. As it is, I wouldn't seriously trust it with over 200W for any extended period of time. The older of my two units also has a capacitor starting to swell a bit. One of the large input capacitors, no less. It would've been bad news if I hadn't found that and the thing had blown up. I got curious and opened one of these items up the other day. It's made by Keerda, if you're asking yourself. It's a lesson in price-cutting, that's for confident. Four 3A diodes instead of a suitable bridge rectifier, the infamous Fuhjyuu capacitors on the input, pretty much-as-poor and woefully undersized BH caps on the output, and, here's the best component: it appears they disabled the overload protection. No, I'm not kidding. It seems the way they turned this 𞵜W PSU into a 蛶W" PSU is by, literally, clipping out the resistor that would set the trip point for the overcurrent protection. So essentially, if you overload it, i.e., try to use it at its rated wattage, it won't shut off. It'll just make smoke.I bought these PSUs based on the typically very good critiques here. I won't make that mistake once more. I didn't have truly high expectations to begin with, but this factor is a joke. I'll eventually break out my soldering iron and fix up the ones I have, but I won't be purchasing any far more. No way.

Worked fine. It is really light. Typically the excellent of a power supply is evident by it's weight. I bought a mushkin 600 watt a though back and it was at least twice as heavy as this. The only cause I deducted an egg is the fact that it is really a 400 watt power supply as it states on the side. 550 is peak power output. 2 sata connections is not practically enough for most men and women. I would say if you were making a low cost machine this fits the bill. Nonetheless if you have even a decent graphics card I would get some thing else for sure. That getting stated as lengthy as it keeps functioning I will be content with it.

2 Method and working good with all the connectors I need to have for these low budget gamer systems. In fact I like them so much my perform just ordered 20 of them to install in customer systems as essential. None for the price. I dont know what individuals are talking about with the 1650's. Im running this in two systems. 1 P4 478 800 FSB w/ HT and a 1650 Pro AGP 8x oc'd with no issues. The other method is a Athlon 64 3800+ X2 with a 1650 pro PCI-E oc'd and nonetheless no issues. I think they need to check their ram or other components very first, sounds like the board might have swollen caps since its obviously an older board.

Quieted down my HTPC box tremendously. I can hear only my CPU fan now. It is a quite superior value more than other 120MM fan type energy supplies. It would have been good to have some of the molex energy lengths longer. I compensated by using some extenders. I am working with this operating 24ǝ to power my Mythtv box (Knoppmyth).AMD Opteron 165 / ECS KN1 Lite / GF 6200 LE PCI-E / PVR-500MCE/ Air2PC HDTV / two X 300 GB HD's

low-cost, has a massive fan Plugged it in and it worked terrific for about 5 mins, lengthy adequate for windows to boot up and then it died. waiting for my RMA to be processed. I really should have gotten a much more costly one. When i get the new one i will have been without having a personal computer for about 2.five weeks. I have paid more in shipping and return shipping than this factor expenses.

It is good and it works flawlessly which is surprising thinking about the cost. Though I did have a phantom shutdown but it hasn't happened once again. The connectors are cheap, the 4 prong connectors were too tight and kept pushing the wire out of the connector that mated with it. Also I had to use a 2 "Y"s to power everything: two CD/DVD, 1 Floppy, two HD, 1 AGP and 1 Cooling fan for the AGP

It turns on and it powers my pc. HIS ATi Radeon x1650 agp does not like this. I also had to throttle the agp speed to 4x. Though it runs source games nicely(so far), it still encounters problems in Crysis and COD4.

None that I can tell, it was DOA. DOA This item was dead-on-arrival. I was so excited to start off constructing my own personal computer and now I have to deal with this. Returns are only covered by Manufacturer Warranty so no automated RMA's for me. I'll have to do this the old fashioned way and I'm not looking forward to it.
