They constantly say you get what you pay for...It's correct that this remote is a bit $$$, but it does what it advertises. I've thrown dollars down the toilet on more affordable "learning" remotes that ended up down the toilet as well. Logitech believed this design via. I was even amazed that it knew what my small HDMI switch box was AND knew how to control it!It's also downright fun to configure and test with the unique software. If it holds up in time, it extremely well may possibly be the "last remote I'll ever acquire!" It's slow to update when you make changes. It can take up to 3 minutes even though it pushes the software modifications to the remote itself. It gets a little frustrating getting to wait for it to re-program whilst testing the components and making little tweaks. Even with the slowness of the programming, this gets 5 eggs from me! I really like it and would very recommend to any individual with much more than 3 devices in their property theater!

This is the greatest remote I have owned. This invest in was truly for my Father-In-Law for Christmas! I think the IR as a lot greater (right now) than the RF just due to the fact of the lack of assistance from mainstream vendors (DENON, SONY, SHARP, And so on...) that don't use RF with no addon's. Certain I have to hold the remote towards the entertainment program, but it's definitely not that considerably of an effort. The ONLY factor I can really post about this remote that could be greater - is the speed of the Harmony Software (takes some time to load between pages) Not a con - but maybe an improvement would be the ability to modify how several dB you want the volume to adjust on the tuner for those who have a a lot more sensitive volume range. (Only a minor suggestion) - Nonetheless the ideal remote I have ever owned and my father-in-law is just as happy!!

Needed one thing my wife could use to control everything we have. This is it. Right after programing it works just as described. As long as you direct it long enough every little thing connected comes on and off perfectly. Appear and feel are nice extras, but functionality is what counts and it has it. Only con at the time was had to go to outside source for logos for tv stations. Don't know, now that could be available by way of Logitech. Not a huge dilemma. Don't commonly write reviews but this was really worthwhile.

Effortless to program; I use these remotes for custom installs since there is a Aid button for when points get out of sequence. This saves me telephone calls from my clients. I was a Universal Remote MX installer, what a pain. The IR input didn't receive commands so I used my 890 pro to grab the IR from my Roku. Logitech doesn't have the Roku N-1000 IR codes in their information base. Shouldn't it be under set best boxes? Logitech wants to figure it out.....Why would I set it up as a DVD player? I've had a few 880 and 890's that the buttons didn't work on or stopped operating right after a few months. I had to adjust the timing from 8 sec to 16, but was effortless to locate and update in the software program.

I enjoy this remote! It makes it so much easier to watch television or dvd's. Just set it up and hit one button and it turns all your equipment on and turns them to the appropriate settings to watch whatever your wanting to watch. Their are only two cons that I can think of. First off, I am having trouble receiving the remote to recognize the input my tv needs to be on and second, to use it with a PS3 you have to get a special adapter.

everything. This remote works fantastic. I didn't expect it to also control my xbox, so now I don't even want to pick up a controller to bring up netflix. nothing really. You need to tweak it a bit to get it just suitable, but that's what's so excellent about this remote - how customizable it is Spend some time setting this factor up and it can be one of the very best gadgets in your house. It controls my complete home theater and lighting.

Uncomplicated set up. Touch Screen Control. Intuitive. Straightforward to deal with. None but. This is my 1st universal remote. I was able to set this remote up within 30 minutes. I was very surprised. So far it has captured all of the functions of my devices:- Toshiba Regza LCD Tv- LG BD370 BluRay Player- Yamaha Residence Theater Receiver- DirecTV High Def Receiver

I have an old harmony remote, and I really like it. I'm about to retire it from my principal living room and use it for one more room in my residence, so I'm looking at acquiring this 1 for my living room. I read all of the critiques here and thought I would add some usefull expertise to make peoples lives less complicated. See cons The one flaw with these remotes is that when you are initially beginning an activity, from time to time a startup signal is missed (like the tv doesn't go to the right input). This is normally caused by the dog walking in between the remote and the IR receiver of 1 of my devices. I hate going by way of the support menu to resolve it (too numerous button presses). Just make confident to add a couple of custom buttons for every single activity to adjust any startup sequences that were missed. Example: add a custom button for tv-input, television pwr, rcvr input, and so on... Most of the gripes I read about here can be resolved by producing some customizations in the remote configuration. I would advise keeping your other remotes handy right after initial setup. Use them when you want, and make note of the function that you needed. Then go and reconfigure your remote to have that function for the activity you want it in. This remote is completely amazing if you take the time to tweak the configuration. If you don't take the time to do this, you will finish up frustrated.

It's possibly the ideal remote I've had and the setup process is somewhat effortless. The software on the remote and on the personal computer makes it straightforward to troubleshoot complications and it is simple to customize the buttons and commands. All the settings are on the world-wide-web so there is no worry about compatibility with new goods in the future. Like other users have said, it can take some time to setup, depending on your configuration, but being able to turn on/off everything with 1 button on 1 remote (as opposed to 6) makes it worth it.

Great remote, high good quality, great battery life, design, constantly prepared to go for me. The buttons really feel very good and satisfying to press. Feels really durable and has been so far. Set up took a small time and the software program could be a small superior but only have to do that once.

Uncomplicated setup and fine functionalityGood sale cost from NeweggOooh! Shiny! Seeking...searching.... Nope, nuthin'. I am wondering why there had been any low ratings for this item. Steps: Collect information on devices, connect to remote, set up remote, watch Television. I did download the newest setup app from Logitech, and I think that may possibly have helped steer clear of some problems.

All the attributes from my other remotes are readily available, even the menu buttons for the receiver. Anything I could do with my old remotes I can now do on one. Not the easiest thing to program if you have a bunch of activities. I spent about 4 hours programming it simply because I found small glitches and I was trying to use HDMI CEC, which compatibility with HDMI CEC would be nice. Database for the devices is not entirely right for particular items. The default buttons for up and down on the directional pad when controlling my str-dh800 receiver were mapped to TuningUp and TuningDown. I had to manually remap them to DirectionUp and DirectionDown to get it to work properly with the receiver. I wanted to attempt to manage the PS3 through HDMI CEC with this but could not get it to function appropriately. It would have been nice for Logitech to get this functionality working for the newer PS3's and other devices that use it, like receivers that have troubles with HDCP handshaking if they are turned on prior to the Television is completely up. I still have to use the PS3 controller as I refuse to pay ์ for a IR/BT converter. I could probably get it to work appropriately if I put enough time into programming it with customized buttons, but I don't feel like putting the hours into proper now.

Fantastic docking station, nicely built, has a good quality really feel to it. Software program is intuitive and thorough. Battery life, cost, some times the remote loses sync with what it has already accomplished, and the Television (sony bravia ൨) / X-BOX (halo) do not respond as they need to. Most of the time I can get it working, so it is not a big deal. You have to be exact about the sequence of events, and not deviate in anyway. I have gone back and forth on a couple of things to get them "ironed out". fourǛ eggs simply because it stops doing the simplest things at times.

Combines several remotes into 1. It programs genuinely uncomplicated! Right after programming, it took me about 10 minutes to come across all the controls for the several devices. Nicely lit touchscreen too! Love that it has a rechargable Lithium Ion battery! Didn't get it earlier! Controlling a Visio two. sound bar, motorola U-Verse box, RCA DVD and a Samsung 40" LCD flatscreen.

I enjoy this remote! Effortless to program, rechargable, activity based macros, tactile buttons and a touch surface - what's not to really like! none I have two of these remotes and have yet to discover a superior remote for property theater applications. I had an 880 that was very good but the 1 is perfect. It would be challenging to locate a much better bang for the buck and programming friendly remote than this 1.

It does control all the devices, just like it says. Not easy to program, but doing it on the laptop or computer is good. Although not that intuitive, most users will figure it out. It seems to be the ideal of the present IR remotes. RF would be nice, but I'll wait until I change my other equipment. If it lasts a decent time (say 4-five years) it will have been nicely worth the cash. Slow to do some commands. Specially channel modifications. Touch screen could be additional sensitive. Does random stuff from time to time, typically fixed by re-pressing button. Need to keep it pointed directly at equipment during power on/off. Can take 5 seconds to shut everything down correctly. Permit for delay on power-up/power-down or you'll use the assist button frequently. Every little thing works. From power-up until a streaming Netflix movie begins to play on the Television is only 48 seconds average (faster than the pc). Wired connection by way of my router to Road Runner. Only three clicks to access Netflix from remote, then scroll by means of the movie queue to pick your movie. Painless if you have a Netflix enabled device...

Runs everything I have. My wife can watch tv without me there. Samsung Television, Sony Rec, Sony Blu-ray,XBOX, and even my old Sonic Blue, Replaced five remotes they remain in the drawer now. Can't program it's self, Doesn't make popcorn Takes a little while to program. You have to fully grasp how your method is put together , inputs ,outputs of every single device. Easy to do and test but takes time to set up each and every device, about an hour for me. As soon as each device works you combine them for every single activity, watch Tv watch dvd, play a game ect. one touch turns on every device needed for the activity and selects the right inputs ,channels ect. It also has the capability to pick every device separatly and control all the functions.1 button turns almost everything off.One other good factor any device can be produced exempt from energy down so my sonic blue remains on 24ǝ

- Looks gorgeous on a table- Uncomplicated to follow installation- Has a charging dock that looks excellent, but still low profile- Excellent battery life- The Support menu has fixed any troubles that come up. It has some trouble configuring activities with the new Xbox 360. I haven't been able to get it to turn it off, or to consistently opt for the proper method to turn it on. I commonly have to use the assist menu, but the aid menu does fix it. I *love* this remote. It replaced 4 remotes with ease, and I don't feel like it's anywhere near it's prospective however. The Xbox thing isn't enormous, since you're far more than likely going to be working with a controller to play your games, so you can use that instead of the remote to turn off. I dropped half an egg for this, just mainly because I really feel it *should* function with such a key home theater component. If you manually turn on any of your devices, the remote doesn't "know" you did. When you decide on an activity, it'll turn that device off rather of on. It was seriously annoying until we figured out what it was. Not actually the remotes fault, but still loses 1ǘ an egg for that, mainly because it's annoying and demands time resetting it all again, Every single time.We control:- Sony WIFI bluray player, which includes all apps it has (hulu, netflix, Pandora)- Samsung LCD Television- Pioneer A/V receiver- audio set- xbox 360 (sometimes, see above)- residence pc media program

Works with every little thing. The Software program that comes with it makes the editing of how you use the remote very easy. Works with my Samsung Television Kenwood AMP Dish DVR and due to SONY sucking I had to acquire the further unit to get it to work with my PS3. Yet yet another reason to hate SONY! I wish they just didn't have BLU-RAY. Its just so Pretty. Simplifies every little thing. Dog thinks its a toy for some reason. Extremely scary. Takes a small long to upload your updates to the remote with the PC software program.
