Logitech MX518 Gaming-Grade Optical Mouse
Cons:An ok software is included and the mouse only goes up to 1800 DPI.

Pros:So far an excellent mouse with a great range of sensitivity. Very accurate when needing to make precise movements.
Comment:
Overall an B+ grade gaming mouse. Works flawlessly without a hitch and is easy to use once you get the hang of the using the logitech software included. Only thing that i feel it could have is a higher DPI. While not important on small monitors, it is a big deal on very large setups. As well as a lack of weights. However, it is amazing for any gamer who wants a nice fitted mouse that is simple but smooth.

*It has a great amount of buttons*very responsive*logitech soft. supplies wonderful manage for dpi adjustments**can't mention adequate that altering sensitivities on the fly is terrific The rubbery film on the sides peel immediately after use making it seem kinda dirty. It ended up being too for my hand/grip.*IMPORTANT*I use the claw kind grip for a mouse and have about average sized mitts, so actually took a lengthy time for me to realize that the back of the mouse pushes too far back/up that it distanced my fingers from the buttons just a small too considerably. This truly lowered my accuracy in every little thing I did. If you use this grip type, don't have major hands and want fantastic accuracy then don't get this mouse. Overall, I feel most games shouldn't get this due to the back just sticking out too far. While I know a friend who makes use of his elbow as his pivot with a GIANT mouse pad and has bee employing this 1 for YEARS. Just goes to show the mouse to hand relationship is an intimate 1.

I've had this mouse for years and love it. The feel is great and on-the-fly DPI function is an added bonus. I paid 80 bucks for this ages ago...just goes to show you that quality products hold their value. Sure there's mice with more buttons, higher DPI (good if you've got a 100ft screen), fancy lights...but this mouse is all business. For anyone hesitant to pay big bucks for a super high end gaming mouse...buy this one. You won't regret it.

This mouse is very comfy, which is why I purchased it. I opt for this mouse vs. other mainly because it was significantly less expensive than wireless (I assume it was on sale as nicely). It is not wireless.

Fits properly in the hand. two buttons on the side exactly where the thumb is (if you are suitable handed) permits simple macroing of buttons (say alt, ctrl) for gaming. I'd rather have additional buttons on the side than close to the wheel. Harder to hit. i will use this until it breaks

The multi dpi setting is pretty helpful. Great mouse for any process. My earlier mouse (a generic 1) was really picky about the glossiness of the surface it worked on, but this mouse works fine. I nevertheless would advocate a right mousepad, of course. -The scroll wheel feels a little gummy, despite the fact that with added use it's beginning to really feel greater-The 3rd middle button is somewhat awkwardly placed, in that you have to adjust your hand position to actually use it Prior to utilizing this mouse I held my mice in a sort of "claw" grip: pinching with the thumb and little finger and with the palm elevated off the mouse. Given the size and ergonomics of this mouse, it's far a lot more comfortable to rest the palm against its body and guide the mouse with light pressure from the index finger as opposed to pressure from the thumb.

1. Good GRIPtwo. excellent style and colorthree. outstanding ergonomic stylefour. the weight is also goodfive. added buttons, DPI manage are really nicesix. Good construct good quality 1. the texture is not each and every anit-sweaty.. It's the similar texture as MX510, which is also really superior mouse.Since the texture is not anti-sweaty. It will get STICKY, but you can just clean it which I'm carrying out it occasionally.IF YOU ARE A SMOKER or just have lots of sweats, THE MOUSE WILL GET STICKY AND GET SOME STAINS ON CLICKS. SO GOTTA CLEAN IT OFF....two. Cannot truly see what DPI u r using.. but more high priced G500 has that function so.. This mouse design is extremely old indeed. BUT Fantastic MOUSE. No need to have to changed if it functions right. And it does. I have used each Razer, IE3., G1, G5, G7, MX510, G3. I should say MX518, G5, G3 are far the finest mice. They actually have very good grip, great button positions, and outstanding construct excellent. Certainly advise this mouse for anybody.

Comment:
Superior overall mouse. I've been utilizing it for a couple days without any strain, but I've been carrying out workplace function, not gaming. The grip is a lot better than the factory-issued mouse I had been using. Adjustable DPI came in handy to get just the speed I wanted, even if I'm not planning on working with the on-the-fly adjustment on this certain mouse. The buttons aren't exactly programmable... but you can decide on from a collection of choices for just about every button (including a custom keypress), not just the two on the side. The wheel is a bit low in the mouse; pressing it takes some obtaining utilised to as it practically feels like the whole wheel disappears into the base. The "crater" look is, as expected, beneath the surface and purely for visual impact.

As a retired pro gamer this is hands down the greatest mouse ever developed. I game casually now so I swapped more than to these popular razor deathadders, worst decision ever. Its been a year now and I finally ordered an additional 518 soon after having owned nothing get 510, and 518 prior to the swap. Its so considerably smoother and a lot more precise. I will by no means get an additional mouse as extended as this one is around. NONE Very best mouse ever

Already owned 2 of these and searching to get a 3rd soon after having the 2nd one for nearly 5 years now. Ideal mouse ever. Theres a reason its the highest rated mouse in the market even following this quite a few years. The black material on the mouse can commence to peel immediately after extensive use (mine started following three years). Also did not support that I decided to peel away at it either. Aside from that, none. Make sure to use any mouse with clean, dry hands. I suspect the peeling I mentioned above had to do with me occasionally acquiring back on the computer right after having gone to the restroom and washing my hands with no drying correctly.

This is by far 1 of the very best mice available in the industry. I've had 1 of these for almost 5 years and it's nonetheless going powerful! Anything about it is just wonderful and I don't believe I'll get any other brand of mouse for a long time. None actually, except that from time to time if you scroll up too fast with the wheel you may well accidentally enhance your sensitivity. However that's just a user concern that's simply resolved, no need to have to subtract an egg for that. Receiving a new one of these for my new gaming rig. Here's to this mouse lasting as extended as my old one.

Cons:-glossy finish

Pros:-comfortable-2 side buttons are nicely positioned-precise
Comment:
I've used this mouse intensively for the past 3 years (lots of gaming, mostly mmorpgs). The mouse is shaped nicely and it's comfortable but I found myself having to squeeze my fingers hard on it most of the time so my hand doesn't slide off. The mouse is a bit big for my hand and the glossy finish doesn't help getting a good grip. Once I got used it though this mouse was pretty much a perfect gaming mouse. The scrollwheel is a bit hard to scroll and to press down, which is exactly how I like it but it may not be ideal for browsing or doing anything other than gaming. I do recommend this mouse to any gamer, even today.

High resolution with optional manage for fine tuning it to be just suitable (for instance, I uncover that 1400 is the best for my utilizes)Looks pretty decent, although honestly I wouldn't have cared considerably if it had been a puke green or something as lengthy as it works well. It's nonetheless a nice bonus. (I'm not a fan of the "dented" appear though.)Super-accurate tracking even at high speeds. I can turn and snipe in an instant with just the flick of a wrist in higher speed games like UT2004 utilizing this factor. In all probability a lot less negative for your eyes to actually see the light due to the fact it's a LED rather than a laser. (Well, you shouldn't be looking directly into it either way, but everyone gets a bit of exposure soon after all.)Contours perfectly to 1's hand. Not a laser mouse. (This is a pro, not a con. Laser mice seem to have more troubles with much more surfaces. Unless you will need to manage a robotic arm at a 1Ʌ ratio to do a brain surgery, you don't need far more DPI than this.) If I had to feel of a con all I could come up with is that I'm not aware of a left-handed version for left-handed mouse users (but then I'm somewhat left-handed myself and still prefer employing my appropriate hand for my mouse.) I've owned a lot of mice over the years. I specially hate the generic shape of most of Microsoft's and Razer's mice where they can fit either hand. (Chase two rabbits and you'll catch neither, proper? Because they maintain it generic for each hands, it's not as great for either. I'd rather see a appropriate left-handed version for left-handed individuals if they want to support them.) Some years ago I picked up a MX510 and was just amazed by the difference in comfort and good quality. No longer did my hand hurt for the duration of long gaming sessions and my accuracy improved considerably. The upgrade to a MX518 later on only made me all the happier. It took all the best of the MX510 and improved considerably upon it. At this point, I have two MX518s in case one breaks down soon after they cease making these and may possibly get an additional considering that the other is the older 1600 DPI model that's shaped and weighted just slightly differently (not since of the DPI, but because this one appears to normally be a bit nicer.)

This mouse has lasted me for years. Extremely responsive, really durable! I haven't had to compare this mouse to something else considering that it's so reliable! None! I'm not positive if it's just me, but I get a little residue develop up from the left and proper clicker and I'm not too certain how to pop it open to clean it. I don't want to risk breaking my 4+ year old mouse that nonetheless works just as fantastic from the day I opened it from the box.Though I did more than-employed the mouse so a lot so that the four, five paddings below the mouse the little smooth points have been worn out. I'm not confident where to get new ones, or should I just purchase myself a new MX518.

Cons:none that I found so far

Pros:comfortable, sensitivity very useable. buttons are in a natural position for your hand

This mouse may not have weights that other gaming mice have but they don't seem to be needed. The mouse tracks great, having on the fly switching of sensitivity is great, although leds letting you know what sensitivity level you're at would have been nice. This replaced an aging Dell mouse that was crappy to begin with, but I'm very impressed with it. A friend of mine owns one, and has been telling me for years I should buy one, I finally listened and am glad I did, and now with a 20$ instant rebate, you can't go wrong. If you need a good quality gaming mouse, you'd be foolish to not at least consider the MX518, I think you'd be glad that you did. I'm not a hardcore gamer but this mouse is perfect for me.

Logitech MX518 Gaming-Grade Optical Mouse
Cons:- Not very durable (for me anyways)- DPI is fairly low compared to what newer mice have these days

Pros:- Very comfortable for all uses- Great tracking and precision
Comment:
The MX518 is probably the best all around gaming mouse I've ever used. I've had about 5 of these since 2005 and I can't seem to find anything I like better. Although this mouse is pretty large its still very comfortable for a person with smaller sized hands. In FPS games I use a claw grip with a G9 but for RTS, MMORPGs, general browsing and everything else I do on my computer I use my MX518. Thats not to say the MX518 isn't good for FPS goes though. Its excellent for palm users (which I am in everything except for FPS games) and especially snipers. P.S. I've noticed that these newer models have 1 small and 2 larger feet at the bottom instead of the 5 small they had on the old models. Everything else is pretty much the same except for that and the max DPI went up by 200.

ErgonomicOn the fly DPI Switch none I've recommended this mouse to everyone I know. I've owned this mouse twice in the five years it existed and have absolutely nothing poor to say about it. Getting paid many prices for it, I can say that 36$ is a steal- you're receiving a lot of bang for your buck. This mouse will make you superior at FPS, RTS, MMO, and browsing the internet.Logitech hit it out of the park with this 1.
