This issue was low-cost, and it had the screws as an alternative of those cr*ppy clips. Cooler master has a equivalent affordable screw on fan, but Newegg doesn't carrying it any longer. I don't over clock, the fan is reasonably quiet. On a price range, not overclocking, it's a fine fan. none at all. I'd purchase yet again, and will when I upgrade to an I7. Or most likely the next generation Intels what ever they are subsequent year. My Intel e8400 has a lot of life, and head space in it.

This cooler gives fantastic airflow across the processor keeping it great and cool and has grow to be the principal cooler in my computer system Its huge, and I do mean big. I have tried this on some of the microATX boards and can not install it due to conflicting componenet of the board.

Heat Sink with fan. Quiet. None actually. Wiring to the motherboard is kinda short. Depending on what motherboard you use, this may demand an extension as the stock wiring from the fan is short. I tested this theory on a couple of mobos and discovered that it fits micro ATX boards but not all ATX/extended ATX boards will play good with this unit. If you are savvy with wiring this is not an problem, but be aware of the brief CPU Fan to mobo connection otherwise.

I purchased several of these coolers for PCs I have put together at my organization. I did not require something more than the leading, but I refuse to use the flimsy OEM Intel heatsink. This unit comes with a baseplate that mounts beneath the motherboard. This may well be a minus to some that do not want to have to get rid of the motherboard to install a heatsink, but considering that I was employing these on new system builds, it is the only way to go IMO. Unit does what it is supposed to do, and it is sturdy and quiet. The 3 PCs I have used these on are all Core two Duo two.7GHz overclocked to three.4GHz at stock voltage and this cooler is much more than adequate for this application. If you are searching to seriously overclock your CPU with the accompanying improve in core voltage, you are possibly going to want a a lot more heavy-duty cooler.

of course no plastic clips. affordable. the speak to area may seem modest, but if you would see how your cores are positioned it covers them totally. read guides on how to apply thermal paste on arctics site, dont just go smearing thermal all more than the leading of your cpu. that can actually degrade overall performance. no directions. the bracket that goes below the board is made out of plastic so it could break/threads strip.

Mounts securely to motherboard using screws and a base plate rather of the totally irritating Intel plastic push pins. It is considerably substantially quieter than the stock Intel fan. It is not silent by any means but it is certainly tolerable. For the cost I can\'t complain. Moving the desktop to the floor and below the desk makes it virtually unnoticeable. <insert clever quip here> It's aluminum only. No copper core. I was suspect at 1st but it seems to be holding up fine on an old school 3.2ghz Pentium. Advised.

It arrived? Arrived with two broken fan blades. No apparent damage to packaging. Ordered a different. It most likely won't pay to return it as the shipping would almost certainly be as substantially as the item. If 2nd one is OK I'll update evaluation.

No push pins, makes swapping procs effortless. Incredibly loud for the initially two days operation. After day two, fan became substantially much more quite. Not as quit as a stock fan. Sticks out farther from the motherboard than a common processor fan. Fan energy cord makes use of only three pins as apposed to stock fans four.

AffordableUses screws, not plastic clips (GG Intel)Solid BuildingOperates fine None actually, does a great job of replacing a stock cooler for far more security, not necessarily for a lot more cooling power. Don't get if you need to hold a thing cooler, its about the very same size as the stock heatsink/fan, but it holds a lot greater. For me, my intel heatsink had 2 broken plastic clips, since as everyone knows intel ships the lousiest heatsinks for their processors.

In the case it's pretty quiet No four-pin connector? four-pin isn't seriously required but it does give a bit more fan speed manage from what I've read. Nevertheless is a excellent fan even though.

1.straightforward installtwo. screw on rather of plastic push in design3. only 贈. comes with thermal paste packetwas best for replacing an old heatsink/fan. I will in no way get a heatsink with the push in design once more, terrible style, it was a single purpose why I chose this a single.it brought my cpu temp from 60c-80c range to the 40c-60c range. none actually almost everything went smooth and as planned, no difficulties with service or item.

Quiet Pentium D runs amongst 65 C and 70 C on my Asus P5NSLI when idling. Not fantastic. With the stock fan it is about 10 C cooler. I will have to replace this soon. Am I the only one particular?

It's quiet, that's about it. Almost everything else.I purchased this cooler locally simply because I necessary it ASAP for a Pentium D three.two GHz machine I was building.Soon after I installed the cooler, I booted up and went into the BIOS to check the temps on the CPU, and was alarmed at what I saw. The temperature kept creeping up slowly and ultimately reached a threshold of an alarming 68C idle. At very first I thought I had installed it wrong, or it wasn't contacting the die entirely, but soon after reseating it and employing the high priced copper cooling paste, it was nevertheless the similar.I figure I'd go for broke and run a prime95 stress test to see how hot it would get, and after about a minute, the temps on the CPU got up to 85C before it shut down from overheating. Recall youngsters, bigger heatsinks aren't usually better. Save your income and acquire a thing superior.

Makes use of a back plate. The stock cooler of E5500 fell half-way off, only holding by lower prods, as I walked from my dining area table to my room. This fixed that challenge for the correct value and did it well. Audible but not noisey. Not confident if this is a much better style or flawed style, but the solid location of the heatsink that is in contact with processor surface is small in relation to that of the cpu. Maybe this is a great issue, far more area for heatsink fin surface area. Perhaps this is a bad issue if an important area of the cpu is not receiving optimal heat dissipation. Did not include things like thermal paste like the stock cooler had on it, or in a packet. Not a con, just excellent to know. Utilised it with E5500 cpu on MSI G41TM-E43 board, fits in Rosewill Challenger case.

Feels more secure than the classic plastic push pins. Cools significantly superior than stock. For the price it is an uncomplicated upgrade. *The thermal paste was not included in the box I received. A rapid call to a live operator and a transfer to tech support had me speaking with a friendly, articulate and simply understood gentleman who right away issued me a form to get the thermal paste. The shipping alone cost about half of what I paid for the product but Masscool was additional than happy to make up for the misplaced paste. It has been a long time due to the fact a business's client service essentially acted like they cared about their client. Fantastic knowledge and a wonderful item. None

12 bucks. Screw on plate for sink rather of lousy push pins. It did come with thermal paste! Fits fine! Need to remove motherboard but truly, no huge deal. 3pin fan header, again no large deal. My extremely clocked E6420 C2D is 5C lower temp idle and 10-15C lower under full load! Wonderful deal!

I hooked this to an old Pentium D 920 in a mid tower case. It's keeping my CPU at 60 degrees even when its over clocked. I clocked the CPU to 3.3GHz ƒ.8GHz stock). Anything is operating as it really should and the box even came with a small package of thermal paste. I like how it screws in instead of snapping in, this thing is on there snug. I have one more cooling fan that doesn't fit in my case, this 1 fits all the way in with very good clearance. The price is fantastic. This is worth 5 eggs. None. I didn't tighten one screw and the CPU temp was close to 90 degrees. When it was tight the temp went down to 60. It was my fault not the fans fault.

This is a superior style compared to the normal Intel for the 775 board.I hate hate hate the regular heat sink / fan that comes with the Intel processor for the 775 board. It is a terrible style for installation and especially for removal. Instead of working with plastic attachment pieces that very easily break and are challenging to function with, this guy comes with a metal mounting bracket that is super simple to install or take away with no any hassle. None There are no instructions in the box or on the internet on how to install this type of heat sink. It comes with two parts, one is a mounting bracket that you place underneath the mobo and it has some screw holes that come up the mobo that the heat sink then screws into. Would be good if they would include a diagram of that. Also comes with some paste so no require to order a separate tube.

this superb small factor replaced a behemoth stock cooler when i had to replace a customers motherboard. Small did i know i was dealing with a screw in(Should have read much better!), so i didn't put the screw plate underneath the mobo before I installed, but right after i removed the board and placed the plate, installation went great! no troubles whatsoever. Even comes with a smaller paste packet, but i tossed that aside for some AS five. Amazing Price! It didn't install itself. This is a great cooler for general purpose Computer's, but I wouldn't advise it for severe gaming or other CPU-intensive operations.

I bought 1 of these for a Celeron DC processor due to the fact the Intel HSF didn't fit on the board I was attempting to fit it on. This was mainly due to those stupid plastic pins. The Screw on style worked perfectly, and developed a nice snug fit. I only looked at the bios temperature correct following installation, and it stays at a continuous 32C though on the BIOS screen, which is very decent. I would say it's a good low cost upgrade from the Stock Intel HSFs. None that I know of.
