Value, onboard video selections, USB ports, eSATA port, right angle SATA connectors (though my case doesn't demand them). Unclocked 3rd and 4th cores quite very easily on Phenom II X2 555 BE. I'm not interested in overclocking, but there's lots of prospective for it. No onboard Toslink optical audio (if utilizing for HTPC), didn't recognize correct RAM timings for G.Talent F3-10666CL8D-4GBHK (easily corrected in BIOS). This board performs perfectly for an entry-level uATX build. WinXP Pro x64 required some drivers installed from the CD, but it's no show stopper. Newegg is the ideal.

Fantastic board, easy to unlock addtional cores, no issues acquiring drivers from the MSI web site as other individuals have mentioned. Built a SBS 2008 server making use of this board, Athlon II X3, GSkill memory and two WD RA3 raid drives in a mirror. I would acquire an additional with out a second believed. While the RAID setup was uncomplicated, it would have been nice to discover some documention on the setup procedures. You will need to allow it in the BIOS and then all SATA drives are observed as SCSI including a DVD or CD-ROM, sort of funky. You will require the RAID driver to see the array when installing an OS and employing RAID.

Unlocked my X3's hidden fourth core and L3 cache from the bios. Has some cool overclock functions. Sufficient space for everything I want in it. I know if I buy AMD I ought to overclock, but I've never ever truly accomplished it just before (I obtain AMD for the decrease price) and the software program controls aren't terribly clear on what I must adjust. The board did what I wanted and it performs excellent with Win 7 64

Low cost This board worked on my program for about 24hours when it created my method crash and reboot randomly for no purpose considering that then. Ran numerous memory tests, tried one more difficult drive, another psu but the computer was still crashing... Figured out it might be the Mobo so cleared the cmos, nonetheless absolutely nothing. Tried my components on a known functioning mobo and verything worked nicely... Sent this board for RMA ... Buying ASUS I guess I just wasn't fortunate...I've heard MSI did very good products... I'm not saying i'll by no means purchase from MSI again but i'll stick to asus for a although, I've never ever had issues with asus boards...

Good price None so far. The BSODs are probably from the OCZ RAM that shipped with the Shell Shocker Deal back on tenት񳏊. I had tons pondering it was the board, RAM tests from both Windows and Memtestx86 did not report and difficulties. Even so after replacing that RAM with a set of Corsair, I have not had any more BSODs.

MSI has made a great product. This board is dummy proof. Good characteristics for the common individual. I biult this with a Phenom II X2 555BE and it is smokin!! Fast is not the word. 2GB ADATA ram and running no greater than 35 C with a load. Went to bios and enabled core unlocker and imediatley went to quad core with out leaving 3.2 Ghz. If you want to heat it ip a tiny, It has a function on the motherboard that makes it possible for you to increase speed from ten%-20%. The motherboard does all the math. Even enables you to do a stability test and monitor anything. This is a wonderful board for the price. If you are on a budget, you can't go wrong with this. Ran to 3.7 Ghz just to test and it didn't even blink. three.two is fantastic for now. Have not discovered one however! I built this cpu for 趆.00 motherboard,Processor, 2GB ram. This is a fantastic set up For household, office and entertainment. I would very advise this for typical use. HD works well. If you want additional, you will have to buy other factors seperatley. I am extremely happy with this set up and I am confident you will be also..

Really great and low cost motherboard. Almost everything worked perfectly right away. Can't ask for more. It got all I require. Took 1 hour to develop, 1 hour to install windows 7 and all the drivers. Everything is great. Fan controls is set at 100% by default so the CPU fan was actually noisy at first. You have to set the fan manage in the BIOS to lessen RPM. Working with a AthlonII X3, didn't attempt to unlock but this board got all the overclock/unlock functions.

Effortless setup, directions clear, great price tag. On board LAN worked untill I loaded drivers. Now even after reloading the OS (windows 7) there is activity on the LED's but goes dead immediately after login. Weird! Does function with a net card. Contemplating asking for an RMA but hate to tear down a new laptop or computer. Consumer not pleased either. Appears like a waste to give up a PCI slot to replicate one thing onboard. three YEAR WARRANTY!Tons of MultiMedia features, HDMI is lovely, VGA, digital out as effectively, great sound characteristics. Simple to work with motherboard, well built. Many internal SATA connectors w/RAID help, 12 USB ports plus eSATA as nicely. Superior computer software for power tweaking the board. All solid state capacitors.... AND Lastly A CPU FAN THAT YOU CAN INSTALL/REMOVE IN A ABOUT 5 SECONDS!!!! YEAH!!!Will benchmark with Passmark's Overall performance Test to post my peformence quantity's later. The Phenom II seems to be beating the Intel 'I" CPU's on price vs overall performance these days. Only 1 legacy PS2 Keyboard/Mouse port so make confident you have at least a single USB mouse or keyboard. I'm an independent seek advice from and came up with this 1 as our new corp. workstation standard. 1st system make was perfect. No problems. Blistering rapid, tons of capabilities, stable, nicely created/designed.Utilised Paragon-Software program.com Difficult Drive Manager (for drive mirror/copy) and Rescue Kit 10. to do their P2P conversion. Pulling a Win XP challenging drive out of five year old Computer and into new hardware... face it... it won't boot. Paragon's OS migration fixer worked perfectly. From there... I did a plain Jane upgrade to Windows 7.... worked quickly and perfect. Uncomplicated, simple conversion. With the Win7 upgrade, all the Win XP issues had been left behind.

•Decent layout with smaller heatsinks, and board headers are towards the edges for much easier routing.•Power circuitry for the CPU is hearty adequate to deal with Phenom II processors.•Supports core unlocking, if you're into that sort of issue.•Active Phase Switching LED's are novel, but they can be turned off if you don't require them.•Rear panel connectivity hits all the appropriate notes considering the general price.•Onboard video works properly enough for HD video playback and casual gaming. •More legacy connectors than I would ever care to see, even on a spending budget board. I personally haven't purchased a peripheral that employed IDE, floppy, or PSǘ in numerous years.•Only one fan header, which is disappointing not only due to the fact the case where I've installed this board has two fans, but also since MSI has better BIOS controls for fan speeds than any other manufacturer at the moment.•No heatsinks for cooling the CPU energy circuitry. I purchased this board for a home office computer develop with the possibility of watching HD video. The user wasn't demanding, so I didn't test all of the enthusiast features such as the dip switch overclocking or core unlocking. Paired with an Athlon II 250, a 500GB tricky drive, 2GB of RAM, and a BD-R/DVD-RW combo drive packed in a Cooler Master Elite 341 situation and an Antec EarthWatts 430 PSU, this board performed admirably.

Included a decent video "card" onboard, excellent cost, support overclocking, and of course rapid shipping from Newegg. It doesn't connect to a Computer speaker (no massive deal if it gave audible POST testing thru the speakers thru the onboard audio, but it doesn't) and the motherboard appears to be DOA. I have even went as far as removing every thing connected (HDD, DVD, Fans, USB jumpers from front and back) and it nevertheless wouldn't POST or give me any audible clue. I suspected that it doesn't have an actual POST alert, due to the fact the manual integrated says Absolutely nothing about troubleshooting or POST errors. I guess they count on all motherboards to be operating and in no way have issues?Even right after removing all memory, it nonetheless wouldn't give an audible POST error. The fans spin up, but that's about as far as I've observed it go so far. The CPU even soon after five minutes doesn't even get warm, so I'm fairly positive it's DOA, just wished it would give an audible alarm to let me know for confident. Sadly, this is the second MSI I've dealt with, and each instances I've had troubles. This time Significantly worse than just before. Guess I'm going to stick with ASUS and/or Gigabyte from now on. Price for features, fantastic bang for the buck. Has alot of bells and whistles. I seriously like the overclock profiles you can set up. Unlocking the 4th core on a 740 tri-core Heka was a uncomplicated Bios selection and the overclocking Genie is a no brainer...I would buy a different...wait a minute I just ordered the second one and also received an email from the egg for ideal product choice for this board...Get one particular...you won't be disappointed! I Miss not possessing the other ps2 connector on back. It has one.... guess that's adequate to set up windows, often in the course of the install windows doesn't recognize a usb mouse. I like the looks...the blue LED on the motherboard nearly lights up the whole inside of my situation.

no pros: Nicely, i sent a rma to newegg for a replacement motherboard, got it all set up and turned it on. What a supprise! i figured all is fantastic now. It posted and i got the OS loaded on my new Difficult drive. restarted personal computer and then i got a bluescreen stating a sofware or hardware challenge..memory dump and all!... tried clearing cmos but didnt make any distinction.. went into bios and did uncomplicated settings to try to get it working..Then it worked ok. turned it off and the next morning, The dilemma resumed..Acts like a cold start issue of some sort. After it warms up some , it loads up and seems operational. Then out of the blue it crashes. I tried windows xp..vista.. and windows 7. More than time the exact same issue persists. Absolutely nothing resolves the challenge. What a waist of time. Its too bad this mobo doesnt function. I couldnt believe i could get two in a row thats negative!! of course i employed up my 30 days for a rma, but i did send msi a e mail to see what they will do...In the meantime i ordered a gigabite mobo and will see if my luck has changed. Sorry MSI... i have a MSI 790FX-GD 70 and it functions perfectly. but im alittle leary of attempting any other of the models . As well negative it didnt function out. This new create is receiving a lot more expensive as time goes on! Effectively laid out, adequate connectors (SATA connectors could be a difficulty if you use all of them; space is tight, BIOS was fine and auto-detected RAM; no complaints; posted from the get go none, but see caveat beneath S/PDIF out Ɠ pin connector) on board but no S-bracket, and they seem almost impossible to locate. I contacted MSI but haven't heard back yet (it's been about 5 days). This is a serious issue if you are thinking about an htpc. Think about the board in the bigger context of your Television and receiver.MSI forums indicate some troubles with their Live Update system. The common report appears to be that you really should manually flash BIOS and install chipset updates. A tour of those forums would be worth a look. This board has been superseded by E45, so BIOS was a challenge to locate (it was stable, so I didn't finish up flashing it / seemed unnecessary).4250 doesn't seem significantly of a step up from 4200 accessible on 785G chipset, but nonetheless runs 1080p like a champ.
