1st off, the aesthetics of this board are fairly good. Very good layout, HDMI is a plus, and so is the onboard gpu. Phenom II x6 1100t functions with this board! Great overclocking attributes. No Firewire ports or connectors. MSI has not officially listed the phenom II x6 1100t on their CPU compatibility list. Came with just one particular SATA cable. MSI areas these big shiny stickers on the board, the sticker over the cpu socket was strongly adhered to the board (be cautious when removing the sticker, you could easily pull some component off the board if you're not cautious.

Excellent mobo, specifically for the dollars. Loaded with attributes packed into a modest size. None, challenging to beat for the money. Wished I had got ATX as an alternative, but this board is fantastic and doesn't withhold any characteristics (except expansion slots...but thats my fault for misreading thinking it was ATX)

-Not a poor layout genuinely.-I love the color scheme. MSI often makes their boards appear great.-Lots of BIOS choices for an 880G board. Looks as full-featured as the GD70 boards.-Nice-seeking CPU power phases, but I get the feeling they're not seriously that nice (see Cons). I bought this with a 1055T and 8GB of dual-channel G.Ability RAM, and the board worked fine for ten minutes or so, then troubles started: out of nowhere, it literally had a small fire start off on it, on 1 of the FETS down by the SATA ports. Needless to say, I RMA'd that board, and Newegg was good about it as usually. The replacement I received worked for a couple hours, then I walked out of the space to get a thing out of the fridge, came back, and the computer had powered down. I tried to turn it back on, and absolutely nothing happened. Removed CMOS battery, unplugged from wall, unplugged almost everything unnecessary (even kbd, mouse, hdd's, DVD, CAT5 cable), and plugged back in. Nevertheless, no power at all. Tested PSU on other mobos, and it was fine. As are CPU and RAM. I plugged the PSU back in just for a single much more attempt, hit the power button, and 2nd of the CPU power phase from the bottom had a huge spark fly off of it with a huge "POP!" noise. Freaky! RMAing once again. I know this board says it supports Thubans (six-core AMD CPU's), but I am not convinced. I don't consider it was built with robust adequate elements to genuinely be able to power a Thuban-- this is me speaking from encounter, so keep in mind that I may have just had actually poor luck twice in a row. Other individuals may have Thubans operating fine in these E43 boards. Mine just... literally burnt out, each occasions. It's a shame; I love MSI, they make good hardware. From now on although, I'll be wary when not acquiring an MSI mobo that's not top rated-of-the-line. I'll most likely get a full-ATX mobo with an 8-pin power connector next for the 1055T.I DO program to obtain MSI once again, they've never failed me till now. I don't consider that their stuff is of low high quality simply because of two bad experiences in a row; I've utilised MSI boards on more than a dozen builds and they are one of the best mobo makers out there right now. Just please, if you get this board, assume twice about putting a Thuban in it :)

the capabilities and the price make this board actually tough to say no to, specially in the course of the black friday sale. no advanced characteristics, such as usb III, but for the price...i can reside with out. can constantly upgrade the board later if it becomes an problem. it's a great board for the price tag. i was looking to develop a affordable pc for graphic style function due to the fact my old pc just wasn't cutting it any longer, and was seeking to spend as tiny as feasible. this board helped in that method. my main concern was hdmi, and far more than adequate sata ports. this board had that, and it was dirt inexpensive.the auto overclock is cool, brought my 955 to three.62. need to be in a position to go greater, i'll mess around with it a single day, but for a rapid boost its hassle-free.

What other people have listed. Board is solid. See below. Not exactly a con (because I need to have known greater), but still an issue. This board does not include a SPDIF/RCA out bracket, which you might will need for a htpc. In and of itself, this is not a major deal, but the s-bracket is impossible to discover and MSI "customer service" is unhelpful. If you require optical out to a receiver, this is not the board to go with. This board has also been replaced by the E45 version, so it's hard to discover the updated BIOS for this board.

Good motherboard, a lot of SATA and USB ports. Comes with a decent onboard video chipset and has an HDMI port built into it. Also came with a esata port, while I didn't will need it. The effortless OC switches are a good addition, despite the fact that I have but to use them. Only 1 psǘ connector. When I bought one particular for my private Pc I didn't want 1, but when I got an additional for the family Pc an additional a single would have been helpful. Oh nicely... Can't tension adequate how excellent it is.

Cheap, nice top quality AM3 DDR3 board that supports DDR3 RAMEasy to overclock and looks like the core unlocker is straightforward to use too, if you have a CPU with locked cores Not positive if this was the board or the RAM, but I had to go in and manually adjust the timings and voltages just before it was stable This board is tough to beat at the value, specifically if you get discounts and/or combo deals.I wonder how several of the 1 eggers who rate themselves as "High" tech information remembered to plug in the CPU power.........My build:AMD Athlon II x4 640 ƓGHz OC'ed to 3.3GHz)Wintec AmpX 2x2GB DDR3MSI R5670 512MB GDDR5 Graphics Card (awaiting RMA)APEVIA Case with 500W PSU2x 1TB Seagate Barracuda

Exceptional set of characteristics, particularly in the back panel. Quite a few boards, even expensive ones, provide neither a serial port or an ESATA port for external SATA devices. This board has both. The board was well laid out except for the SATA ports. Overall the board created the develop pretty straightforward and straight forward. Anything worked and the board and newly built pc booted up the initially time with no hiccups. 1. Four of the five SATA ports are placed horizontally rather of vertically, creating it difficult to connect SATA cables with out considerable bending (The user manual even warns about not producing 90 degree turns in the cables, even though they developed the ports so that it may be difficult not to do that or to obtain SATA cables with 90 degree connectors.). Thankfully my case (a Rosewill Challenger -- great case for the funds) had enough space and cubbyholes so they SATA cables could be bent steadily rather of at proper angles.two. MSI only provided a single SATA cable with this motherboard. Come on MSI -- yet another couple of SATA cables would not have killed the budget. Luckily I had some extra cables from earlier builds. I would acquire this motherboard again. It's a good value for the money, even with the inconvenient placement of the SATA ports.

89 bucks when I got it does anything I want, nice FSB speed and good to slide a single PCIe card in. SATA ports other than SATA 1 are sideways not straight up and down so excellent for the wires. Low power usage for eco friendly people and a high level of upgradability with the PCIe 2. SATA 1 port being straight up and down was a bummer but no huge deal, motherboard didnt come with screws but no major deal either. only 1 PCIe 16x slot not for SLi or xFire people ƒ GPUs or more) but I knew i didnt will need a second PCIe Excellent for a microATX case and it runs beautifully, I didnt need to have to use SATA drivers to install Windows 7 Pro because the BIOS is set to SATA 1 & 2 Ports as IDE :P. if you want SLi or xFire dont get this board it doesnt perform with it and if you have a Full tower case it might be a hassle to put in this board

Beautiful seeking MOBO, I enjoyed how they had the OC switches (but i in no way tried them). I had this motherboard much less then a year (summer of 2010) and when i first got this thing, it was working incredibly nicely and smooth. But months has passed and i noticed some errors. Very first it was the blue screen telling me a thing wrong with the graphics. Then i noticed my processor was beginning to heat up to 50C (when i initially got it, it was only 30C). Then i noticed when turning on the laptop the motherboard would take a although to "boot up". Now I'm totally unable to use it, it would turn on (fans running) but nothing was showing on my monitor (i changed out my processor, changed out RAM, Power supply's, employed unique monitors, in no way applied a video card only the on board). I just want to get a new one by mailing my old one back to MSI and receiving a replacement. It had adequate capabilities for my requirements, which is truly far more than I would use. Worked fine with my hardware except for one significant difficulty. Anytime I run something that entails a lot of video processing, my pc would crash and it would give me a "hypertransport sync flood error" (seen in Asus and MSI mobos). I've researched about the error for a long time, and have tried all the things other people today have carried out to fix the difficulty, which includes rising cpu, memory voltages, and other settings in bios. Also had to appropriately set memory timings, but nothing worked. None of the preset bios configurations like fail secure works either. They aren't quite helpful anyways taking into consideration some of the automatic settings weren't right. All of the components are compatible with this mobo and I have tested all of them except the cpu and memory in a different laptop or computer. The challenge persist whether or not I use the onboard video or a discrete graphics card. I have tried to locate a fix for the concern for a couple of months now on and off when I am at house. Emailed that customer service representative and haven't got a reply in two weeks. I've given up and will just replace the board following overcoming the lose spent on this 1. Nicely and safely packaged with expertise. Fired correct up. 50 cent stickem aluminum optional heat sink would of been good. The dragon breath of the CPU cooler probaby would make memory heat sink coolers run hotter so 5 eggs is in order. As the Highlanders said, "There can be only 1."

Nice PCB color, and bios has a lot of selections. (will probably in no way use a tenth of the alternatives) IDE connector is in an odd place. fourǛ of all the SATA interfaces are mounted at 90*. The board I received only had 1 PCI-Express x1 slot. The display and link to MSI clearly showed two (x1 slots). Couple of days soon after my order the picture changed?! SPDIF connector was missing. Windows 7 OS loads up quicker than the BIOS?! (BIOS lags for nearly a minute! OS loads in under 16 sec.?!) For the value paid, I feel I've been cheated. Won't be purchasing the MSi brand again for awhile. Would have sent it back, but I just didn't feel like putting up with the hassle.

Great MB for the price. I got this in a combo consisting of the Athlon II x4 640. Got them both for 贫 so I cant compain there. Doesnt want to overclock my CPU past three.39 without coming unstable. If your gonna overclock I assume you must go with a superior board. I've carried out a bunch of research and cant appear to get this thing to OC correctly even when working with variables that are identified to function with this CPU. I'm not gonna take an Egg away since I cant get her to 3.6 ghz which is what this CPU is recognized to be stable at. The bios isnt as great as some other boards but works good for my requirements.

This evaluation is for the second time I purchased this board. Excellent cost for what you get out of it. On-board HMDI, DVI, and VGA connections which offers you versatility in video connections. It has overclocking abilities on the board. Haven't attempted it but fascinating to look into. If you're making use of this board as a small business laptop or computer, it may be distracting with the bright blue led on the motherboard which shines through the case vents. Fantastic board for the price. There are no USB three. ports for the cost you pay but you get Ƒ) E-Sata port.

Worked wonderful for about two months. I bought this motherboard specifically for the integrated video which seemed to function fine at first. Soon after about two months the video started to go bad on this board. There had been vertical lines showing up on the display from time to time. Ultimately the video went out absolutely and I could no longer get any video output from the motherboard. I sent the motherboard back to MSI and received it back from them within a few days. I reinstalled the motherboard but the same day I did, the video went out once more. In no way buying MSI again. I guess I will attempt to get a refund at this point because this motherboard is useless. Its a great cost with lots of good features. Applied an Athlon 3 core processor. Works great and low expense. I use this as a test bed pc. I need a serial port to connect the debugger to. I added a DB9 serial port to the mother baord header, but I was unable to get serial port communication with the device. The drivers are installed appropriately, they are part of the Windows 7 OS, but no communication. I ran some com port tests and it indicated the port was not working. This is a killer for me, I cannot use the motherboard for its intended purpose. I purchased from another corporation, they have a 2 week return policy, nicely past that. MSI does not have its own RMA according to the MSI site, bring back to retailer is what it says. So I don't know what will take place. I have usually had excellent luck with MSI, so I am not going to knock the brand. Just poor luck this time. Very good functions vs cost. Uncomplicated unlock core. 0nboard overclock switch feature. Overclock also by Bios and software program. On board video OK for general purpose PC. Supplied ATI Catalyst drivers (USB filter) triggered a blue screen followed by boot recycling. Would not perform with USB wireless keyboard and mouse (logitec 550) but would work with wired. When I uninstalled the AMD drivers ( identified under the chipset drivers) that came on the drivers and utilities DVD the system has not expertise a blue screen or any boot recycling. 1 click in the BIOS to unlock cores sent my AMD x2 555 to four cores ( B55).
