+AM3 Phenom II+DDR3+SLIƳ SATA II+Power button on board+Looks nice and matches the Blue LED my case has. -Onboard LAN preserve crashing, didn't shed an egg mainly because I use wireless connection. -As soon as you install two high end video cards, you only have one PCI express slot left(taken with wireless LAN card) I am pleased really pleased with this board!!! Next I now have to acquire far better video cards.

Cheapest AMD MoBo that supports Nvidia SLI. MSI is a great brand and build the MoBo in my quite 1st (self built) PC back in 199? a thing. And the board just recently died, some 13 years following acquiring it; not bad.The SLI functions well, with no complications. (Two Nvidia Evga 9800GT's) For a couple of day's, I believed I had a bad challenging-drive controller chip (sata) on the mother board, but it turned out to be a bad sata cable!! That's a initially. fyi: I appreciate Evga (and their video cards) and their life time warranties... I mean, their consumer service. Evga has performed awesome factors for me and mine and that's why I'll continue to write points like this, here.

SLI with DDR3, I did rather a bit of searching for this. Seriously dont like ATI graphics and really do like AMD processors. I had found a lot of boards out there for Crossfire but I think that the MSI boards are the only ones Ive found that do SLI with the AM3 socket and have DDR3 ram. I have in no way noticed a mobo come with only one sata cable, seriously when I helped a friend of mine develop a pc with a gigabyte mobo the thing should have had at least four come with it, exact same when i built my last one with an Asus mbob. Kinda wish that they had utilised the space taken up by the integrated graphics and completed a thing else, I mean really who buys a new mobo so that they can get integrated graphics?

Plays 1080p HD video and audio more than HDMI in Linux, which is why I bought it. Has an eSATA port, which is good. Some could want a board with far more card slots, but it's fine with me. This is the best board if you're looking to construct a Linux-based DVR or media center, and want an AMD processor.

Cheap. Capable of 16GB DDR3 RAM. Good BIOS alternatives. Built-in DVI has flaky efficiency (though VGA works fine), something built-into it makes a high-pitched buzz whenever writing to disk. The only reason to get this board is to support a AM3 socket processor with a lot of DDR3 RAM at low expense. I got this for a spending budget method doing strictly computational and virtualization tasks, so while its built-in graphics are adequate for most tasks, it does have trouble rendering graphics inside a virtual machine. Definitely not suggested for a production machine, but adequate for my purposes. The high-pitched buzz is genuinely starting to get to me now that I'm using it a lot more typically. Gotta do something 'bout that. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued MSI Consumer,We would like to apologize for the concern you have experienced with this certain mb. It is running a SSD as an auxiliary drive for loading video games, so that's nice. This was the only motherboard I could locate on Newegg, at the time, that did SLI and AM3, so I got this. I already had two 8800 form cards and they worked fine, just like they did prior to, and my new single Fermi card works fantastic, and hope to get another soon, confident that this board will deliver. Not particularly useful instructions. They say some thing like, "use slot 1" without specifying how to establish which 1 that is. At one point I thought, "Being Korean, they may well read Appropriate to Left". They must have stated, "Use Blue Slots", so immediately after having several crashes, I utilized the blue memory slots for my memory. The very same goes for which slot to use if you only are making use of one graphics card. They could have mentioned, "use the upper graphics card slot", which I did by just guessing. It claims to have five Sata connections but one is for an external, powered drive, so I had to take out two drives and put them into my second laptop or computer, due to the fact the board this replaced had 6. Their list of suggested memory did not seem to match any available, so I guessed at a OCZ Platinum ƒ x 2GB) DDR3 1333 LV4GK due to the fact it looked close to 1 on the list, which appears to function nicely with no issues, although when I got them, it mentioned, "made specially for Intel CPU's"

AM3 + SLI, wish more boards can do this. Decent overclocking potential, brought my x4 955 to 4.0GHz with only 1.4v. Have all the capabilities I want. none really. Good board if you want SLI on an AMD method, it does lack USB three and SATA 3. nevertheless for those that want them.

Uncomplicated to install. Setup screen came on proper away immediately after pressing the DEL important. Employing an AMD X6 processor 2.8. 8 gigs of memory It will not let windows xp pro install on to a SATA challenging drive. When it reboots it comes on with a NTDLR missing error. I have downloaded the Raid drivers from MSI, but they do not assist. The Bios recognizes both the SATA tough drive and the SATA DVD drive. Have had this board for pretty much a month so I can not return it to newegg. Nice looking board, appears to have been designed with lengthy video cards in mind. Initial off, I had trouble installing Windows 7 x64 with this board; the installation would hang soon after the first reboot. I tracked this down to the video card; after removing it and using the onboard card, Windows installed fine; even so, when I put the video card back in, Windows would not enable it to run, saying there was a driver conflict with an additional piece of hardware. The onboard card and the PCI-E card (SPARKLE SXS2501024D3-NM GeForce GTS 250) are both Nvidia, but use different drivers. This might have been the cause of the conflict.I installed a diverse video card, a MSI GeForce 8800 GTS. This card installed fine, showed no driver conflicts, but Windows soon locked up. After that, the only way Windows would run was in Secure mode- even a clean boot would lock up at start off. Pulled the card, and everything was fine once more when operating from the onboard card.Fine, that is, except for the video faintly wavering as if through a heat haze. Gives me a pounding headache ahead of too extended The board shipped with v1.3 of the BIOS, and I deemed that this may well be the cause of the difficulty, so I updated to v1.6, immediately after which the board would not POST past the NVRAM check. I installed v1.five of the BIOS, and everything was fine. I tried this a few times, and it would constantly hang with BIOS v1.6. I tried installing v1.6 both through the BIOS and Windows.I spent an awful quantity of time installing and reinstalling Windows, trying for a stable method. Right now, I'm operating off the onboard video card, but hard drives attached to the mobo will be there on 1 boot and dissappear on the subsequent; USB devices will dissappear while becoming utilized and then reinstall and reappear a couple of seconds later.I paid a significant amount of additional cash for two-day shipping to have this board by Friday so I could be gaming all weekend, but all I've accomplished is waste time fighting the darn thing. I don't even have a game installed, let alone been able to play one.I'm genuinely disgusted with this board ri Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued MSI Customer,We would like to apologize for the problem you have experienced with this specific mb. Quickly and Stable. Board layed out in a good way, not tough to get going. BIOS is stable and has alot of features. Very first one had concerns, none of the USB ports would work, if anything was plugged in it'd just say USB Not Recognized. Tried a lot of things and finally RMA'd. Sent broken 1 out Monday, got new 1 Wednesday as the rep was type enough to send the new 1 prior to receiving the broken. Docked 1 egg. Even with USB not working rest of the board was flawless. New board is ideal. Built this program for my buddy. he was alittle upset due to the first board not operating but now he couldn't be happier. Also bought an Asus 19" LCD that wouldn't stop flickering, read numerous folks getting this problem. We were about to RMA the monitor and then I hooked up another and it did the similar. Identified out a setting in the BIOS for the cpu was set to auto and need to've been disabled. After disabling this cpu alternative the flickering stopped and never returned.

Worked great at very first ahead of I attempted to use the uncomplicated OC switch which was 1 of the key reason I purchased this board. Upon making use of the OC switch my laptop or computer gave me BSOD. Soon after altering the OC switch back to default I nonetheless kept finding BSOD. I called the consumer service line only to speak to somebody who was ignorant with me since I was not as knowledgeable with the motherboard as they were. They told me that due to the fact I utilized the OC switch it probably ruined my RAM. Why the heck would MSI put an uncomplicated OC switch on it's motherboard if it doesn't OC appropriately and destroy your hardware? The tech support line employees are all outsourced so not only are they difficult to recognize but they are unfamiliar with American customs as far as being polite to the customer who spends alot of money on their merchandise. I will in no way buy from this organization once more. Stay away. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued MSI Consumer,We would like to apologize for the concern you have skilled with this particular mb. Every little thing working suitable out of the box. Board was straightforward to get wired up. Due to the board not being a true ATX acquiring some of the screws in was fairly tricky. In truth that was the hardest part of the install. Not going to deduct for it. I've utilised MSI considering that I started building my own pcs. Have never ever had a DOA. I definitely believe a lot of these folks just aren't utilizing precaution when working with pc parts.Still haven't set my 1600 memory to run at that speed. I will report back with any issues. From my first day this board has been a breeze to install and almost everything is working as it must.

Terrific all around board - superior OC functions, pretty decent onboard video and tons of alternatives/features. Although - make positive you don't underpower this factor, the onboard video needs a beefy power supply and you will finish up damaging either the board or the power supply. I would recommend an absolute minimum of 350w, but would attempt for 500+. (also depends on the processor) none, really If you use a phenom proc and the onboard video, be positive to have a 500w or much more power supply.

Looks great on paper - all kinds of nifty capabilities and expansion slots. DOA. Not much else I can say about that. Newegg's RMA service has been wonderful, and I just went back to the microATX board I was utilizing prior to (also created by MSI). Kinda disappointing; all the MSI stuff I've had so far has been fairly excellent for the cost.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130254That's the board I've gone back to; pretty a lot this guy's small brother. Fantastic RMA Service.Support 6 core.Unlock cpus. Mobo failed on arrival but did not know.It was downlocking my gpu(nvidia and ati) and constant flickers in the game.Found out immediately after four months of use due to no time to play games. When I requested RMA, MSI sent e-mail telling me it will not cover under warranty due to scratch on pcb board.I did not scratch my boards. I purchased open box from newegg and it came that way. Open box policy is 30 days return so I was out of luck. Final week MSI sent me a package.Wow. Brand new box of motherboard. Not refurb or applied. Brand spanking new. Fantastic job MSI great job.

SLI, external SATA, built in video with HDMI port, Very good spacing between video card slots, acceptable sound chip on board, 1 IDE connector, good quantity of room about cpu socket for fan installation, 5 sata in a block, 1 mounted on the board closest to front for front mounted sata connection. Lengthy flexible SLI connector Second SLI Slot (farthest away from power supply) the video card tends to block the only pci slot on this board. If you don't already have pcie x4 devices you may well be forced to purchase new cards. Could use additional slots but not unworkable. SATA ports numbers Ƒ-4) are not well identified on board or in book I was a little turned off by the concept of a single pci slot on this board, there are just some items that still don't come in pcie x4 that some of us might want to use. The worst component of this build was getting the fan on the cpu, that problem will vary according to what fan you have; I rarely use the stock fans unless it's a low end program for a buddy's kid. Even with all the new tech, the system for the fan attachment nonetheless sucks. Not making use of the overclock settings (yet). Some of these AM3 boards are super picky about ram, I employed a pair of Mushkin 1333 chips in here...no problems at all. I was impressed that it began up 1st attempt with no aggravation except choosing appropriate drive for boot. I had two 9600 nvidia cards, hooked em up and installed the bridge, no problems; I like the lengthy flexible SLI connector. The book doesn't mark pin1 for the motherboard hookups (should) I need to have to flip my hd light connector, power switch and reset doesn't matter how it is plugged in. I like it so far.

Appears like a decent board, somewhat anyway, AM3 socket and SLI mobos are slim pickin's... Mine came DOA; On the other hand, that's not why I'm giving it two eggs. The only PCIe x1 slot on this mobo is directly under one of the x16 slots, meaning if you have a second GPU, you have no PCIe x1 slots, because your fan will undoubtedly cover it up. And considering that several other reports say the onboard sound fairly a lot blows, that was a deal breaker for me, as it means no sound card. DOA aside, this doesn't seem like the best option for most individuals. If you need to have a spending budget SLI board, this seems like it may possibly be okay, mine came DOA and I'm not receiving yet another because of the lack of a PCI slot, and since I have sufficient income for a better 1 now. The beauty in this board seriously comes from the simplicity of it, with most of the characteristics integrated onto the nForce chip there aren't a bunch of extraneous controller chips all over the motherboard. I personally like the clean look of it.The Other key Plus to me is the spacing of the two PCIe x16 slots. There are two spaces in between them, permitting for a full slot space between dual-slot cards. For anybody who's worked with SLI setups just before, they know that this can be a enormous help in getting GPU temps under control when reaching for that ultra clock speed. Also, the on-board GPU ྰ Shader 8200 with VP3) is helpful for me to play high-def movies to a flat screen while also being able to use the computer system for other items. It's also handy to have just in case you have a video card failure so that you can still perform standard tasks. The motherboard will sometimes send garbage data to hardware monitoring programs about an extra temperature probe, on occasion the phantom Temp. probe has read as high as 324 degrees C, or as low as -128 degrees C.Yea... I'm going to go ahead and say each of those are totally wrong, but each and every other Temp. probe works the way they ought to. This is a motherboard that I personally like using for the gamer who wants to get the most bang for their buck with. It supports SLI so you can pair up a second graphics card for greater performance in games that support SLI, but it also utilizes the AM3 socket, which as we all know Phenom IIs' aren't always going to match up to Core i5s or i7s in the processing department, but which win hands down in the price department.

Using it with a 1055t and 2 gtx 260's, some people may not like the empty pci space but if your using a dual slot card it doesn't matter, north bridge heat sink is a little weak but it keeps the temp down, excellent raid options, the look is real nice blue on black not bad at all. it currently has my 1055 oced to 3.4 on a coolit eco alc. very very stable.
