Wow! Had I identified what a difference this would make in the general responsiveness of my technique I wouldn't have dragged my feet so extended on producing the obtain. Programs install in half the time and apps pop open so quickly it virtually makes you flinch! None. Well worth the funds. Factory read and write specs are faster than my board can handle. With AHCI enabled I'm nonetheless only benching 275read뢒write in ATTO, but thats plenty quickly! Gonna have to step it up on the MoBo soon I guess ;)

mushkin said they are willing to keep using the 34nm nands untill 25nm iron out all the bugs. thus you do get the speeds that are advertised or at least reallllly close. hardly ever ever in stock, get it when you can. oh and the cost dropped 15$ like a day right after i purchased it haha. no biggie but still a small annoying. bought four OCZ vertex 2's back in the day when OCZ was king of SSDs. but with OCZ screwing up with the 25nm nands i'm turning to mushkin for my future SSD desires.

Comment:
*Simple installation- includes 3.five" bracket*Extremely quick*Sandforce controller: Like any SSD, performance degrades as the drive fills up. Nevertheless, the controller for this drive is really sophisticated and offers with this particularly properly.*Less heat produced! Cost is often the drawback with SSDs, but speed doesn't come affordable, Sassafrass. Care to have Outllook load in 1 second? How about Visual Studio? Photoshop? You proably have to have this drive.

Comment:
A lot more affordable than other Sandforce-based drivesSimple installationTRIM supportInstant performance boost None so far I am working with this drive in an older Toshiba laptop which only supports SATA1, yet the efficiency distinction is nonetheless remarkable.I am running Gentoo Linux with a 2.6.35 kernel which supports TRIM and ext4 as the file method. Setting up a SSD to fully exploit it's efficiency capabilities required some extended reading, but eventually I identified all the required details regarding file system, partition alignment, stripe width, erase block and sector sizes.

Mushkin Callisto Deluxe 120GB 2.5IN SATA2 Sandforce MLC Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons: none whatsoever

Pros: The list goes on forever on how awesome this thing is. Lower power consumption, blazing fast and most of all its a no brainer to those who are trying to get the most out of their laptops.Battery life was extended by a good margin (2x at most)
Comment:
This SSD is the best. It works on part with others with the same memory controller (sandforce 1200). Though in everyday computing, file transfers will fall must shorter than what it specifies. But if you must get some gloating power over others, benching with ATTO will yield the specified read of 285 mb/s and a write speed of 275mb/s.Solid states are the way to go. It may be expensive now, but it is well worth it if the extra 2 hours of battery life will help you land that promotion or what not. If your on a plane with no ac plug, then I think a 200% increase in the battery life would be extremely beneficial.

Mushkin Callisto Deluxe 120GB 2.5IN SATA2 Sandforce MLC Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons: None so far

Pros: Good deal for a 120gb SSDFast read and write speedLooks durableTrim support
Comment:
My old drive does not support trim so after a while it slow down. Bought this to replace my old drive. The price of SSD had dropped a lot compared to 9 months ago. This is a lot faster and cheaper than the 1st generation ssd drives.
