This is my 1st Mushkin Drive and I am really impressed by it. Boots personal computer extremly fast ྯ-20 sec.) from BIOS post message to login, rated 7.7 on WEI, every thing loads instantaneously, will stick with Mushkin in the future none Excellent how its assembled in the USA, quite high quality product! 60GB is plenty, had 28GB left right after installing windows 7 64 bit and leaving about 7 gigs unallocated for drive to use internally to top rated off the handful of already offered by the drives manufacturer.

this piece of hardware ought to be everyone's next priority "have to get" pc portion. skip gpu or cpu, get 1 of these. pretty much almost everything is instant. cold boot in 15 seconds, 9 seconds of that was bios screens, login screen to desktop with cpu activity is 6 seconds. completed. fire up crysis 2, im shooting 13 seconds later. effectively worth 贄(promo)! the only situation would possibly be price per gig. and i hear some failing from time to time(but every single single point we acquire does), but to be sincere, its worth each penny. it is a bite for a "hard drive", but the speed gained is phenomenal. windows 7 and 3 games with a couple of gigs to spare for programs. for 贄 my computer is moving three instances quicker than ahead of. games like fallout three NV load from desktop to shooting in the game in 9 seconds. crysis 2 does in 13, photoshop in two, for 贄. who wouldnt want a 500 gig, but its apparent why our jaws hit the floor. but this is amazing technology i feel every person ought to be making use of! and it will only get more rapidly and less expensive.

Amazingly quickly and silent. Windows 7 is prepared to go two or 3 seconds right after post. I'm very glad I went with Mushkin.ATTO bechmarkMax Read: 283 Max Write: 271 None Installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 with AHCI on. At 1st I wasn't acquiring really the benchmarks it was rated for; read speeds had been excellent but write was about 245. Soon after installing the AMD AHCI driver (which truly gets a lot of unfavorable reviews) my write speeds elevated to the rated value. If you have an AMD board you'll likely read that you must stick with common Windows 7 AHCI driver, rather than installing the AMD one particular. I tried it and it worked for me on the other hand so give that a likelihood if you're not seeing the typical speeds.

Quiet, less power than two Raptors 74GB in raid (much much less), significantly more rapidly as well. Reduces heat with no the raid array. Did I say quiet? Silent... Could be twice the capacity at this value point. Ahhh, soon. Simple way to eliminate an old bottleneck from any program. Do a fresh install and go. Want more storage? go for a TB monster for storage... Newegg keeps on keepin on!!

Fantastic packaging, sleek black design like most. Really rapid and solid speeds. This is my initial SSD and it is miles faster then my old Maxtor I was operating. Worth just about every penny, a must purchase for any individual contemplating SSD. Cost per gig, this is not a Muskin issue just the current state of SSD. They will come down in time. Windows 7 installed in 8 minutes, total boot up from post is much less then 15 seconds. From the 45 seconds ahead of to completely loaded this is a huge improvement.

My Desktop has the power with all the hardware in it but getting three 1TB WD Blacks and two 500GB Blacks was not cutting the efficiency as I could really feel the bottleneck on the drive. I did some analysis on SSD's and I own Mushkin Products currently and discovered this to be a drive to fit my spending budget for the final performance upgrade necessary. This drive met my requirements perfectly boot time went from 34sec with post to now just 12 sec with post. Of course my EVGA Board is the slowest part of the bootup approach. Small Drive Size but you need to all know that before getting. Windows 7 x64 Specialist takes about 18Gb of this drive so its not that bad. You can install your main programs and just squeeze by. I will be seeking to get at least 1 of these for Xmas this Holiday Season but with the price tag now currently down to 贠 I could see my self getting two of them for Xmas if they get below 贓 and will run a three Drive Raid0 setup to boost my speeds in the 600MB/s Read/Write range.

Simple physical installation (Cooler master HAF 932). Silent, Low power, and Insanely Quickly! I was quite impressed with how promptly the drive boots the OS (after the mobo does it's thing of course). The moment in the operating system, installing and opening programs in virtually instant. I am completely pleased with this SSD. I can confirm that this drive does not like it when there is another HDD hooked up with a bootable OS. Ahead of installing, disconnect all other challenging drives and do a clean fresh install. If you're on the fench about buying an SSD; I would say go for it. Specially with this SSD. You won't regret this drive.

Two of these drives in RAID make for a genuine eye opening experience.Havent had any problems so far and dont see any purpose they may well fail. I know they age and efficiency will ultimately fall of, but hey for a boot drive they genuinely rock'n'roll !These are my second SSD's, and I picked them based on efficiency, cost and reviews, I believe I got a winner here as they actually scream, WEI 7.9 +++Read and write performance is exactly where it must be, platter drives don't compare! Only minor issue, wish SATA cables would lock into spot. For the funds, these small speed Deamons cant be beat!

this was a nice install of windows, for a technique I built, every little thing went excellent for win7 64bit didnt have any troubles, boots up pretty fast although I expected it to boot up a bit faster then my older ocz agility, but im operating Phenom II x4 vs Athlon x4, not too confident if that plays into the boot times relatively equivalent ghz even though the price of SSD's nevertheless a lot, the issue I see is that your forced with going mid sized to get the greatest per gig, I would assume that the lower capacity drives be low cost if not the identical per gig but they end up costing even much more per gig then mid sized SSD, and the high capacity carry a premium on them so you shed on both ends wish I ran some benchmarks on that method but its as rapid as I anticipate it, it seems that I cant run computers with out a SSD, having to perform on a pc at function with no SSD it feels pretty slow to me :/ wish the corporate globe would catch on and see the benefit of them

Drive is crazy quick, when you get 1 that operates proper. First purchased a single operates great. Not reliable, and when they go, they appear to show certainly no signs that the subsequent time you go to power on your method, that it will just be dead. I have purched 3 of these drives. The initially 1 I got is working excellent... Becuase the initially one particular was running so well, I decided to purchase two a lot more for other systems. 1 of the drives just quit on me a couple of hours ago. Wont recognize in the BIOS, and cant be plugged in to an additional system to recover the data. Wont recognize when attached to external sata either. The other drive is possibly showing signs of failure as properly. Each other boot or so, when booting Win 7, it just hangs at the booting screen... and by no means finishes. A power off and back on, or two, typically assists. I believe i will be going back to the old difficult drive for this system as nicely before i shed every thing. 1 out of three drives are operating effectively... not really good odds. Very disappointed, specially due to the fact i see the value for these drives has gone up steadily over the last few months. Beware! Time to see how fantastic assistance is with replacements.

Extremely quick and stable drive. I have two of these running in Raid on ICH10. Runs very quickly. (up to 700 mb/s burst, around 400 mb/s typical sequential) I boot win 7 64 in 7 seconds to complete usable desktop. No efficiency complaints but. Hopefully will grab a third drive to bump it up some more. The firmware update is a bit of a hassle when in raid. You have to get rid of the difficult drives and then connect them to a different pc via a sata-usb conversion cable and external power sata cable. Then go to their website and download the firmware updater. The update itself ran smoothly and had no issues. (make confident you have the same firmware on each hard drives in your Raid Method) You can see the insanely quickly speed distinction. 128 kb sector

Boot sector on my 250 gig Seagate died, so I picked this and a WD Caviar Black 1 TB drive up. It does its job beautifully - my windows rating went to 7.7 soon after I got everything installed. My pc takes longer to post than it does to log on and get everything in the startup folder operating. The tray they give you didn't function in my Apevia X-Jupiter midtower - my case utilizes rails to mount drives, and the tray they give you is shorter than the distance among the pins. I ended up employing a handful of zip ties to attach it, but if the tray was an just an inch longer it would've fit. Drive overall performance is spectacular, and I don't think the mounting concern was worth docking an egg. It barely has enough space for Windows 7, Firefox and a couple of other programs. If you just want a boot drive, this is definitely the drive for you!

Functions as described but i cant get stated read/write speeds. I cloned my freshly installed OS from a seagate and installed W7 Ultimate x64 even although it is recommended to do a fresh install. After installing i had to align the drive. Boot up time from post to login screen is about 11 seconds with OC'd Q6600@ 3Ghz & 4Gb 1066Mhz. I doubt a fresh install would modify something. This drive is configured for AHCI on my system with latest Intel MSM. Seems like the drive has slowed since i bought it 6 weeks ago! I'm only acquiring 209 seq read and 57 seq write now. Half the drive is nevertheless empty...And no i dont defrag it! Cant wait till the cost/Gb goes down. Below standard circumstances this drive is expected to die in about 5-6 years according to the MLC spec. Quiet & cool (of course), fairly low existing draw, Win7 installed flawlessly without having needing drivers, and so on. It's also refreshing to see that Win7 sees about 58GB. I'm a little concerned that my data cable isn't "clicking" onto the SSD. The retaining clip just isn't being caught, but I'm making use of this in a desktop application so it shouldn't be a major deal for me. Overall I'm glad I produced the acquire. Took me to a 7.7 rating in Win7. Hoping for 3-5 years of operation considering that it only holds the OS & programs, my information all goes to my server. Newegg is the finest.

Quickly drive (speeds as advertised in these tests), with the important exception: whilst it functions! How about, almost everything else? It gave up soon after 2 months of usage, the "fast" RMA took 17 actual days from the time I reported it. The initial shipping when I bught it took 7 days (it was going from NJ to NY state). I paid for the RMA shipping (Ŭ). The tech support is super slow, it took a day among every single e-mail in the course of the RMA request. I received no notifications of when the drive arrived, was replaced or sent back (I called to get that data). On prime of that be positive to be home when the replacement arrives, because FedEx won't deliver it (not like it expenses a fortune). Have fun camping at property if you truly have a actual job (unlike the Mushkin workers certainly). Certainly horrible knowledge. Just pay บ-ฤ for Intel X25 or OCZ and keep away from all of this. Remain away from Mushkin. However, it's not doable to rate something with "minus" eggs.

Extremely fast read speeds. I purchased two of these and put them in a RAID- array and I am obtaining 580 MB/s read speeds. These babies rock every benchmark I can throw at them. Cost per GB; while that's not this item's fault. The mounting mechanism all wasn't really superior and I was only in a position to fasten it in my case with two screws. I was also not impressed with the packaging, the drives had been physically hard to get out of the box. Can't seriously knock an egg off for any of those factors though. Suitable now I'm only working with the drives for my games. I'm a little bit worried about putting my Windows 7 on it due to the restricted writes dilemma.
