Unbelievably fast. The SSD's booted up fine. Initial shot gave me an outstanding RAID Array with no any difficulties. Write- 534 MB/s. Read, 549 MB/s @ Transfer size of 8192 Kb. Any transfer size more than 128 kb breaks 500 MB/s in read AND write. Genuine globe applications? Installing a MONSTER library program named LOGOS 񡿸+ books). At six Mb/s, download, my VelociRaptor in Raid was stalling the download every two-four seconds to write. Today, at 26 Mb/s download, there was no lag. Moreover, indexing usually took among three-five hours. It finished in just over 1 hour. These aren't enormous sequential read/write applications either. The whole approach utilised to be 7-9 hours. Right now, with More books in the library, it was two hours. Yes, my world wide web speed increased, but my VR's were the bottleneck. Not any longer. At twice the speed @ 128 Kb, these Mushkin's MOVE. The three.5 inch mounting brackets are horrible. They look like a thing a 7th grader produced in metal class. One piece of metal bent at the ends, drilled out, and then the whole factor painted. The complications? 1. The holes are painted-LAYERED in paint. So the mounting screws for the ANTEC 900 won't even catch. Of course, the holes are ALSO TOO Modest. So they have to be tapped out... very first with a tiny screw to remove the paint, then with a larger screw to widen the hole, then lastly with the mounting screw. When you get ready to mount it... IF you own a Antec 900-you either get to drill two new holes, or only use two of the four, since they WILL NOT LINE UP! For such a Wonderful SSD-why oh why do these brackets have to be so shoddy? In the end, nothing to take an egg off for. Just know you may possibly have to wrestle with the brackets. Mushkin- May I suggest you look at the 3.5 i adaptor for the VelociRaptor? Yes, its to shed heat which the SSD doesn't require. But at least it feels sol 2 Muskin SSD RAID 2 VelociRaptor RAID (both RAIDS in MOBO bios)Foxconn Bloodrage MOBOI7 940 OC @ 3.87 on Air (Cooler Master)BFG GTX 280/Sparkle 9600 Vid-cardssix Gb RAM, OCZ Antec 900 case

The drive is quickly. Does what it's supposed to do. I dropped one in as the OS drive in a machine I built (Asus P58XD-E mobo). Hooking up to a SATA II header, the BIOS recognized the drive, and it was off to the races. Speedy boot into Win 7 Expert. 60Gb is a small smallish, but 120Gb was just too much for the purpose. Still, a excellent Win7 OS drive. I've had great luck with Mushkin memory products. I'm hoping that continues with this SSD.

- Leading of the line speed in both reads and writes- Blows my Intel 40Gb drive out of the water!- Amazingly quick!!! - $/Gb I was going to get a 40GB version, but decided that the 60GB would be far better for games. Wow, was I shocked at how little 60 GB ended up becoming..23GB = Windows 7 House Premium 64-bit 21GB = Globe of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich KingWith some updates, Ventrilo, a few other minor downloads, the drive had only 6GB left... So no StarCraft two or Steam games...Luckily I purchased two (one for me and one for a friend), so I'm keeping the two (because of no return policy) and he is upgrading to a single 120GB.My assistance: 120GB is the mark to hit for SSD comfortability. Luckily, Mushkin has 1, its rapid, and amazing too!

Assembled in the USA!This 1 upgrade created a higher difference in system speed than any other single upgrade I've produced. Immediately after installing Windows 7 64-bit (from DVD in less than 15 minutes, I may possibly add) and filling to ㅪ% capacity, an HD Tune benchmark gave the following outcomes:-- Transfer rate --Minimum: 126.2 MB/sec | Maximum: 246.4 MB/sec | Average: 185.6 MB/secAccess Time: .1 ms | Burst Rate: 192.8 MB/secActual globe? Most apps open in seconds, and IE8 is prepared to use in 1-1.5 seconds (compared to 5-ten, previously).Mushkin support (see other thoughts). The adapter does not fit in my case. It seems Mushkin created it too wide. I have read quite a few negative comments on Mushkin support. All I can say is, my knowledge has been totally the opposite! I have not had to call typical CS, so I can't comment from personal encounter, but I have been conversing routinely with Nick (Retail Sales Manager) concerning concerns on the drive and Mushkin RAM. I asked concerns that could have been answered in a forum, but Nick usually responded inside a number of hours and answered just about every question I had. I've in no way knowledgeable this level of personalized support from any component manufacturer.Great job Mushkin! Manufacturer Response:Glad we could assist! :)

- Very fast (Sandforce SF-1200 controller.)- Trustworthy (so far.)- 60G is enough for Windows 7, my primary apps, and one or two of my favorite games, still leaving enough space for temporary downloads, etc.- I use a 500G Seagate 7200.12 for mass storage. - The two.five" to three.5" bracket it came with did not mount correctly in my case. Doesn't definitely matter, I found a different place to mount it. (You could just duct-tape it to the side if you definitely wanted, it wouldn't matter.)

Quite fast and quite easy to install, mounting rack conversion is a plus. Installed Windows 7 in a couple of minutes did not take lengthy at all, boots appropriate up and soon after doing all the SSD tweaks this factor actually flies. Holes for the rack mount are smaller than the screws that go to my Antec 900 case - not truly a con just ONLY concern I ran into. Extremely happy with Mushkin and this product, will dif continue to use a lot more of their items in the future.

This drive is an excellent performer that looks really good as properly, and comes packaged really properly. Win7 Expertise is 7.four across the board with this drive. I don't have something to compare just before/after as this was a ground-up method create, but I get 190-200 actual world MBps transferring from my two-drive raid to the SSD. Win7 boot time is about 10ቧ seconds from appearance of windows screen to login prompt. Not too shabby. Wakeup from hibernation is instantaneous, while this is as it must be.Performs as well as a 2-disk raid , albeit with a lot superior seek occasions clearly. I can't report any cons, but they're most likely to arrive later than sooner, as these SSDs are still becoming worked out reliably. two of these in a RAID0 configuration would be uselessly rapid. I don't possibly know what I would do with that amount of speed, but it would possibly decrease load times I suppose.

This ssd gets a windows rating of a 7.three and windows 7 boots in 15 seconds world-wide-web prepared. This is a need to have if you want a rapid technique. If you are running low on gbs after installing almost everything run advanced technique optimizer. It created my ssd that had 18 gbs left go to 30 gbs left. It freed up a lot of room. none after installing windows 7 ultimate and significant programs I have 30 gb left.

Oooooh Weeee! This drive is fast. My laptop boots up in 15 seconds and shuts down in four seconds. Average seek time is practically zero. Programs open up in two-three seconds (ie. Photoshop & Illustrator). I get an average of 230 mb/s read with bursts up to 275 mb/s. For write, I get speeds from 180 mb/s to 280 mb/s. This drive is amazing. The price is appropriate too. It supports TRIM. three Year warranty. Packaging is amazing. If you're still living in the Platter HDD ages, please upgrade to an SSD. You're missing out on all the enjoyable. Space of course. I have about 8 GB left after Windows 7, Office 2010, and Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Lightroom. You will hate/dread using a pc without having a SSD right after owning one of these. No case badge (Not a con for me, but for some it can be a deal breaker). I was a big fan of the Mushkin RedLine and BlackLine series memory. I'd thought I'd give this drive a attempt due to the fact it was so inexpensive. I have SSDs in all 6 of my computers at house now. 3 Intels, 2 Kingston, and now this one. ~ Laptop Specs ~ Model: Toshiba Satellite L655-S5065 ~ CPU: Core i3 350M ~ RAM: 4GB DDR3 1066Mhz ~ OS: Windows 7 House Preimum ~ Storage: This Mushkin Callisto SSD Manufacturer Response:Greetings! Quickly when operating.... Unstable and unreliable. IMO ssd's are not but prepared for prime time. Purchased two 60GB drives. Loaded OS over a dozen times fresh over a secure erase. Used Both WinXP and Windows 7. Employed 4 Unique Controllers, Intel, Marvell, Adaptec, and Areca. Works fine for a day or so, then boots up corrupted on all OS's, on all Controllers...Not pleased...Spending My Holidays Reloading my system for the umpteenth time. Going to end up employing the drives for door stops...

Speed, the SSD's in a raid are impressive. I can\'t speak about the life of the item considering that I have had them for 1 day now only. I replaced two SSD's (ocz core series) that I purchased on newegg two years ago. The Mushkins are with out a doubt faster. My windows index on Win7 went from a 6.9 to a 7.8 by merely swapping my old drives with these. Small form factor. I had known that the SSD's technologies had moved forward right after I purchased my ocz's. Should have carried out this some time ago.

2074.9 rating in passmark efficiency test, compared to my single 7200 RPM disk's 555.Breakdown:- 243 MBytes/sec Sequential Read (compared to 77 for 7200 RPM)- 95.two MBytes/sec Sequential write (compared to 73)- 234.8 MBytes/sec Random Seek + RW (compared to two.94!) Can't get sustained write close to advertised. Although nonetheless greater than my 7200 disk. I was tempted to take off a point for this... but I haven't owned the disk a day but so it may be premature.Packaging was a little damaged inside the box (the foam had separated from the "book" it came in), in all probability just an infrequent manufacturing defect, nothing I would take off a point over. Though I do like items to be nicely packaged when I get them, it adds to the excitement! Boots windows fairly fast, much less than 20 seconds from post to desktop.Installation of windows 7 (from flash drive to SSD) took four minutes from copying files % to expanding files 100%.I put all of my startup programs on the disk originally, then moved about 3ǚ of them to each of my two 7200 RPM disks that utilized to be in a raid... decreased "loading cursor icon" time on the desktop from a few seconds to an unnoticeable quantity. The size is enough for me for an OS disk + some startup programs + the two games I want to load incredibly fast (with 30gb to spare), I dont genuinely see any reason to get a bigger disk since everything else can go on other drives. Also, for the men and women who will inevitably give it a con for price: you know what the cost is and you know what you're finding for that price, that isn't what somebody is seeking for in a evaluation, cons are for things that are unexpected or substandard compared to what they really should be based on the specifications and competing products. Loaded up W7 64-bit and the PC now boots in less than 20 seconds.Made in the USA (Denver CO) for those of you that are tired of receiving the run-around by thick-accented people today whenever you need to have to call tech support. None. Buy it. I got this from Newegg but I don't show up as a verified buyer since I utilised my consumer's account. I have a 90GB Mushkin in my own gaming rig and it is just as crazy fast as this 1. Utilizing Win XP Pro and correctly aligned-this drive flies.279 Read270 Write Will not walk my dog :( For all you brainiacs out there who are performing an external secure erase and writing all zero's to your drive, you are shooting your self in the foot.If you want maximum speed from your SSD, you will will need to carry out an "internal" secure erase. This sort of erase zaps all the cells and empty's them. Writing all zero's does not equal "empty". Empty = EmptyZero = Written toI use Parted Magic boot CD (freeware). You will more than likely come across that your drive is locked by the motherboard bios. The trick is to unplug the SSD data cable, boot Parted Magic, then plug back in the information cable. In Parted Magic:Choose "System Tools"Pick "HHD Erase"Pick "Internal Secure Erase"Choose your driveFollow the rest of the promptsThe secure erase takes about 1 second.Load your OS and Appreciate the Speed. If you use Win XP you will have to align the SSD initially, but that is too a great deal for this assessment. Just Google it.
