I know it says base plate not included, but I got one.It did not come with a driver or install disk, so I went to there website and found it was past it's life expectancy, for this it gets a 4 in features.It was however a plug and play device, so in the end it was all good.I am running vista with no problems, and it matches my wii.

this router will drop the wireless connection every 2 or 3 days. This is a common, widespread problem. It has occurred to me for over 2 years.

I bought this to save money and have a great top-of-line product. Yes it is recertified, and it failed to work. I am returning it for another one. Can't wait to get it running for my small network of internet and 2 computers. Once I get that going I will write another review of the story.... note: easy return too, without hassle.

so many people over the net were complaining about it, i have had it for 1 month now and so far so good, no problem voice quality has gone up on vonage using this router.

This router performs much better than anticipated. It has been solid on uptime and I haven't need to reboot it at all. I have 3 wired gigabit connection and 3 wireless used for NetFlix and Media Center Extenders. The only 'con' I found is that making ANY change (like adding a MAC address to the accepted list) will require a reboot and do it automatically when you 'Save'. Other than that frustration, the router is awesome.

I had got this router to be able to watch NetFlex but had problems with it form the start kept dropping off line every time 5 to 6 times per day ran it for 3 days bought a new cisc o router had no more problems. Waste of Money

I see the different postings on the internet relating to dropped connections, and their related solutions. I had the same issue with mine when it arrived. It seems to have been corrected after a firmware update (backup option). The connection DOES drop every so often (less than once a day), but it is a big improvement over when I first hooked it up. All-in-all it was a good buy for me, but I am a 'techie'. If you are looking for a cheap router, you have a 50-50 chance of getting a problem with this recert. It's up to you if you wanna roll the dice.

I've had this for about a month. It was simple to set up. I'm a technical person, but I tend to evaluate gadgets through my retired mother's eyes. Could mom set this up? Absolutely.

bought it february 2nd for a friend and it died 34 days later 4 days after the one month warrenty ended....spend the little extra money and buy a linksys had mine for 2 years and still going strong

I tried this unit but had to return it because it was never repaired I hope this was onlly one The good thing is the return was easy because of your company.

I have always been a fan of Netgear routers and AP's, this unit hasn't changed that. I have purchased and installed at least a half dozen of the WNR854Ts. Only issue I have is an echo of other reviews; no base plate. No real problem as they are installed hidden, but it escapes me as to why they would be missing, and the route to get a base is ridiculous.

NetGear has been good to me in the past but this particular unit from NetGear is a very bad buy. They have hardware problems documented all over the internet on this particular model. I purchased one thinking they may have fixed it however it completely died after a few months after the 30 day warranty. Waste of money. Spend a few extra bucks and get something else.

Wireless router was easy to set up and has great range. We put this router in a 10,000 square foot building and were surprised to find that we can access it from anywhere in the building.

Missing base plate, with this part unit tips over easy on my glass computer table. didn't provide part, and only option is to return unit. called, they do not sell or provide base plate, a serial search indicated this unit is two years old mfg. in 2008. Customer service says only way to get a base plate is to RMA this unit to Memphis or Mid West at your cost and they will return unit with a base place. Asked Customer Service if i could order this base plate they said no its not a current item. For all of you with missing base plate, you will have to do a DYO improvised stand to keep unit form tipping over damaging the unit and or computer table Mine is Glass I have replaced an older wireless router with this WNR854T and registered the MAC number Returing unit for RMA at my cost and time is not an option. Seller should indicated ommision and picture showing no base plate. NG has lousy support, parts, and PR.

The unit comes incomplete! It does not have a base with the unit ! If they show it it should ship ! They will not ship you a base ! They go through a song and dance to have you ship it back and them ship you another one !! WTF ! If the first one was not complete, chances are the next one will also be incomplete! Carl Fiorentino wake up! Show it like it is!

Great price for this product, very affordable. My brother the computer guy installed it for me , but he claims it's easy to install. I like that a warning came up on my computer to let me know that my itouch was accessing my web connection it seems to be good quality.... a great buy

Mine lasted nine weeks and then died. Last time I purchase any refurbished network hardware. Think twice before spending your money on this one...

Simply because I never got it to work after purchase.. I discovered that they don't ship an installation CD with it.. I tried Netgear website and I couldn't get much of help.. I'm returning the product... It's just a shame that they loose a customer for just a CD!!! PS: Rating all fields is required for submitting the review; And it's obvious I can't judge because I never got it to work.. So, please, diregard my evaluations- to be honist... Good luck

Missing the bottom plate (seems to be common). Needed a firmware update which was extremely easy to do. Works well.

This router worked great, right out of the box. Shipping was fast and the installation was very easy. The router is fantastic for the price.

Product worked well out of the box. I updated the firmware as a habit but I don't know if it was necessary. The problem I have was the listing showed that it had the protocalls for VPN but that was wrong and false advertisement. I still needed it and kept it even with that dissapointment.
