My CPU in no way gets more than 44C with this setup even when gaming. I use it with myAMD 1090T Black. Functions great. Nearly silent. So quiet that I have removd all the noise reducers and run the fans complete speed all the time. It could use to be about 5mm much less wide. I had to manually bend one particular of the fan clips in order to get clearance for the heatsinks on my memory modules.

-Easy to install. (On a fresh create.)-Powerful.-Temps are cool when my i7 930 is maxed at 3.6 (I'm confident I could get it greater, but just don't care to.)-Would purchase once again. I'm not confident yet, don't have it up and running Doesn't come with AMD back plate and was not compatible with my board's (GA-MA790X) stock backplate. In most circumstances possibly demands un-mounting motherboard to set up. On an pricey cooler like this they shouldn't be so low cost. They should contain the backplate. CPU: AMD Phenom II 965 BEI have a computer for gaming and watching movies. This means the most important factors in my cooling components is that they are both quiet and have good performance. As far as cooling of the CPU goes it does much better at idle and maintains a lower max temp when compared to my previous cooler (Zalman CNPS9700). I've got this on my Phenom II X6 1090t. I have the CPU o/c'd to 4 ghz and this issue keeps it cool all the time. Idle at 25C and load at 45C. Not undesirable for a push-pull air technique! This issue is hefty and significant. Because of the clips that hold the fans on, I was unable to access two of my 4 memory slots. Be aware of this.

I got this for my home theater Pc. It's cooling an E8400 intel clocked to three ghz and even at max rpm's, it's entirely silent and the temps seldom go over 45*C It's large but I knew that going into this. It's mounted to my Abit IP35 Pro motherboard and the chipset cooler on the mobo just barely clears 1 of the fans. If the heat sink on the motherboard were any larger, I would have had to come up with yet another way to mount the 2nd fan. RAM clearance wasn't an situation.Base plate could have been lapped or at least polished a lot more. This heatsink is superbly designed compared to my old heatstink (Rev.two) Have it on a 1090t @ three.6 GHZ.Temperatures wont break 46C though gaming on highest settings in any game. On P95 anxiety test it wont go past 56C. Idle temperature varies with area temperature but its around 30C. This is with the ultra low noise adapter installed which keeps the fans at 1000 RPM.Very quiet with the ultra low noise adapter and cooling efficiency isn't substantially decreased compared to the low noise adapter and with no adapter at all. Cut my finger but didnt notice till i started cleaning the old thermal grease with isopropyl alcohol.Some people may possibly find the noise to be a small loud with both fans operating at MAX speed. This kit comes with high excellent anything... thermal paste, fans, heatsink, anti vibration strips, installation kit, situation badge.. the list goes onInstalled in an Antec 300 with fans pushing air upwards.Use the noise adapters.. they are there for a reason.

See Cons With all the gadgets and wire connectors no matter how I configured this cooler I could not get a Q9550 to run beneath 55C, No fan control. So I re-engninered it and got two coolmaster 92mm fans with PWM and a Y adaptor, Plugged it in the CPU connector on MOMBO Let SYS control fan speed , Now I have 35C and a incredibly really Box. Noctua wants to go back to the drawing board and give this sys some control. The Cooler is really nice loved the mounting hardware, They just want to repair their fan style.

Practically silent with the LNA. Combined with a new Scythe 120mm intake fan, idle temps by dropped 6c and load temps by 8c. Comes with adequate thermal paste for this and your next five Pc builds. AM3 set up was extremely effortless when the mobo is removed from the case. Fans mount leading to bottom not left to suitable which seemed a small odd to me.

Have always wanted to give one of these coolers a try but balked at the price up until now. Finally said "what the hell" and went for it. Glad I did! Now that I've had been using it for a while I can honestly say It is definitely worth the extra dough.
