Beautiful looking Ram and it Works
Comment:
Ocz makes great ram. All 8 gigs worked right off the hop. No problems with it at all. I may become brand loyal. In addition I love this retailer's customer service.

It's Not The Ram, It's The Motherboard ?
Comment:
Fast shipping as usual. Ordered 8/20 got it 8/21,(faster and cheaper than if I were to drive to the store... but I digress). I replaced 2 Gigs of Corsair Dominators for these, and the performance boost was duly noted. I had to jury-rig my motherboard settings to get these puppies going (I had to do the same for the Corsair also). I guess I should upgrade from this tired ECS GF8200A motherboard. Everest Benchmarks still look good for my AMD 6000+, but my INTEL E4500 with the swapped in Dominator Mem beats the heck out of it...go figure. Overall, I give high marks for this RAM. The price is very good (cheaper than the Dominators I swapped out). Performance is stable (Windows XP Pro 32 bit)!

Great Ram
Comment:
Sitting beautifully in a gaming machine now for a total of 8gb of ram, windows 7. Had for several weeks, runs great. Dont worry about it coming bad, there's a great return policy plus OCZ has a lifetime warrenty on this model RAM. Tends to run at 800mhz, dunno if its the ram or my mobo

This is about as solid as RAM as you can get soon I'm gonna buy more and upgrade to 8GB of RAM. It's superfast and even better it really comes with that silver cooler witch just looks cool. My most intensive game is Assasians Creed and I can run it at full specs with 1920 x 1200 resolution @ 68 fps. Great buy worth the money. Fast and fantastic!
Comment:
It does what it's suppose to do and is very fast. My computer recognized it right away at 5-5-5-15 timings. No random shutdowns or reboots. Great product! I will probably buy another set later on.

Good value, bought two of these for 8 gigs of ram in my new PC I built. Work great so far and were easily installed, not that ram is difficult in any case. Very happy with the performance so far and it was a nice value.

Great Value
Comment:
A great value for good quality RAM. Problem with one DIMM. Called OCZ. Ran the tests. They gave me an RMA. Sent it back today. Based prior experience with them, I expect the replacement to be here in about a week.

Great ram, especially for linux!
Comment:
This Ram is insane. I maxed out my 780i mobo to 8gb of the 8500 and it flies. Then again my system is insane. Thermaltake armor full tower case, 1200 watt psu, 8gb of this ram as you know and the quad intel cpu (forget with model) two 9800 gtx cards slied (1gb of video ram) and a all in one media card reader and two raid'ed terabyte drives. :)

Cons:none

Pros:quality 1066 ram at a good price
Comment:
This review will be shorter than others I have written. What can I say...it does exactly what it is suppose to do, looks great, and didn't cause any problems. Have it in my m3a78-em board with no problem. Board did not recognize the ram exactly, but a quick stop in the bios to set timings and speed and it works as fast as published. Can't comment on OCing ability, since I have not tried.

Cons:None whatsoever

Pros:Very compact, very inexpensive
Comment:
A great buy as it ended up costing aroung forty dollars after rebate was subtracted. The very low profile heatsinks made it very easy to instal. I bought it to expand the existing ram from 4 gigabytes so that now my computer is running on 8 gigabytes. I shall never run of RAM now.

decent value on very fast RAM
Comment:
Most RAM is so fast these days, it probably doesn't matter much what you buy, but this RAM oozes quality, has a lifetime warranty, and the SPD gives its timing values as 5-5-5-15, not 5-5-5-18. It's running fast and stable for me. Gigabyte motherboard picked up correct timing and bus speed from the start, no need for tweaking those things, but I did have to manually configure the voltage to 2.1v Good stuff. I'd buy again.

Fyi on buying this memory
Comment:
The memory works great but ocz does not suppport using 8 gigs of memory in your system of this stuff. I found out after buying it and it not working with all 8 gigs I bought. Use one pack of four and youre set. If you want to use 8 gigs of memory then use the ddr2 800. Hope this helps..

OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory
Cons:Needs High Voltage (2.0V-2.2V)Quality Control Lacking

Pros:Sale Price with RebatesDDR2 1066
Comment:
I've bought quite a number of these kits for users as for some time OCZ couldn't be beat with their rebates on these for 1066 DDR2. Usually paid between $43-$50. RAM runs at rated speeds but you need about 2.0V-2.1V to get it there. If you have 4x2GB sticks, i.e. 2 kits, you're likely going to need 2.1V to 2.2V and it can be a bit finicky to get it at rated speeds. Other than that I have no qualms about this stuff, OCZ usually puts out quality products and this is no exception. One word of warning, and this isn't directed at OCZ alone by any means, but RAM manufacturer's Quality Control has really gone downhill over the years. I've had Corsair, GSkill, and OCZ RMAs from purchases at NCIX. So far I have a 35% failure rate when testing newly purchased RAM from any retailer on memtest86 version 2.01; and OCZ is no exception, I'm actually at a 40% failure rate with OCZ over the last 8 months.NCIX has an awesome RMA program in place so this isn't too painful with NCIX but it can be an annoying process with some other retailers. Make sure you get/have RMA insurance and test your RAM when you purchase it for about 40 passes of memtest86 v2.01 or later at rated timings and 'speed'/frequency before you give them a permanent home. The RMA insurance or NCIX VIP membership will save you on shipping fees for RMAs and you'll be happy you have it if you need it.

OCZ Platinum 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory
Comment:
Memory arrived today, I put it in an Asrock AOD790GX/128M mobo and got blue screens. OK, checked the manual and Asrock follows the unconventional DIMM slot color scheme of adjacent slots enabling dual-channel. Once the memory was moved to correct slots, timing and voltage set to specs, I.E. 2.1v, 533 memory speed, and 5-5-5-18 timings, I am now passing Prime95 without a problem. I replaced 4 1gb PC6400 dimms and now see a modest performance increase.
