Vertex 3 just came out - check that out because it is of course more quickly, but I would really feel confortable trusting OCZ with ANY drive... This infant ROCKS!

this drive is great, i was worried with all the negative reviews, but with such a high priced item, theirs not to numerous reviewing this item. this is my 3rd SSD, and by far the biggest at 240, by read speed this is not my fasted, but its write speed is. the 240 gigs makes it great for employing specificity for a game drive, my games have practically no load occasions, except for games that appear to force you to wait considering that they have a cut observed between levels (im calling you out call of duty). can't think how significantly their selling this factor fore, Hugely recommended if you have the cash, this has adequate space for your operating technique and a handful of games. just redirect your media to a manically drive, or if your like me yet another ssd. none 128 crucial c300: main drive80 intel x-25 secound gen: media and documents drive240 OCZ vertex 2: Game drive

Its rapidly, good response. Loved it. It dies too rapidly. I had it for two months and I left for the military for a bit and 6 months of no use it dies. My friend had the exact same challenge with their SSD HDD and I can't appear to get tech assistance to even open a ticket. Their site down for 6 months now? I loved the drive. I had it for practically a year.(Too poor it only worked for less than two months) it is now a paper weight. Would I get an additional OCZ item. Probably not. None Arrived DOA. Sent in rebate thinking that the drive is fine. Tried to install OS on two separate PCs, but unresponsive. SATA controller doesn't even see the drive. Had to pay shipping to send back to Newegg, but Newegg failed to inform me that I can't send back the unit if I had sent in the rebate. Now they are sending me back the negative drive. I had purchased several things from Newegg and OCZ in the past, but this is giving me a negative expertise that I may possibly not purchase anything from them once more in the future. Quite fast when they perform. High failure rate. I ordered three of these for our attorney laptops and so far two have failed. We sent 1 back, and the replacement failed within 24 hrs. Now I have to send it back to get yet another. Make certain you back Everything up and get a superior clone program to save time. When functioning correctly the SandForce memory controller was able to achieve 280MB/s read and about 250MB/s write mainly because the NVIDIA MCP92 limitation and my SouthBridge was absolutely maxed. This will possibly give you data loss that OCZ will in all probability say they're not responsible for. (Other than Cruicial may have a much more expensive 1 that's a tad bit quicker.) :) I lucked out, combining a 贶 instant rebate, ฮ mail-in rebate and since I bought it on a precise day, I got a โ gift certificate from NewEgg. This is the ideal rated SSD drive, with the sandforce 1200 controller. Really fast and no issues. None Do your self a favor and do a clean install of your OS. That is the only way to assure that all functions of SSD drives are enabled. And this will make the partition aligned without the headache of manually performing it. Also allow AHCI on your motherboard BIOS prior to install.

Installed in my Dell Preceision m4500. Worked great until it died after 2 weeks.Replaced by NCIX (thanks guys!) and about to install my second one. Its blazing fast so going back to the originall HDD was painful. Hopefully my second one lasts longer.

This drive works great in my 2010 MacBook Pro (15"). No complaints at all.I have the 120 GB version in my Windows 7 64-bit PC and experienced issues when the system is allowed to enter sleep (S3) mode. I had to back up, secure erase, and then restore the contents of the drive to get it working again. Quite a few users have had problems with sleeping the Vertex 2 series, some resulting in completely dead drives. I haven't had problems on my MacBook Pro yet, but that may be because it almost never sleeps.

Installed this into an Asus G53JW laptop. Win 7 Home Premium boot time is 23 sec after install. Very fast. I also have the 1st Gen Intel 80GB and Corsair 120GB installed on a desktop. This blows away the Intel and is similar in speed to the Corsair.Unsure about the reliability since I've only installed this one week ago. Hopefully it stays alive.

Have purchased and installed 7 OCZ SS drives within the past 14 months. My 180GB OCZ SSD died in its sleep after only 3 weeks, and was discovered dead the next day. (RMA and RIP)This morning, my 240 GB OCZ SSD also went down suddenly, with a blue screen, while browsing the internet, after just 14 months, and could not not be revived. Enjoy the company of your SSDs while they are alive. Life is uncertain . . . so back up regularly. (The PDF of the invoice for my SSD was on the drive and also lost when it crashed. I hope Customer Service can help me.)

Worked fine for 10 weeks.Now, BIOS sometimes sees it, and sometimes not. When it is seen, it fails immediately.Currently going through RMA process with OCZ.

Quickly boots, quickly app loads. Speeds advertised from ATTO disk bench are in line.. Atto is the disk tool applied by OCZ for the advertised speed numbers. None so far,,, so very good. I will report back when and if any actual problem occurs that is not brought on by me performing something "STUPID" Men and women who are thinking of SSD drives must totally read every SSD tweak and primer guide out there. I have been a pc tech for over 15 years, and I can assure those reading this, in most cases, the bad reviews here have been brought on by the end user failing to fully grasp and appropriately implement this technologies... Even immediate drive fails can be caused my mis installation and mis handling. Not running a weekly trim tool, not following the guides of this tech can and will shorten drive life. I DO NOT Work FOR OCZ or am I affiliated in any way with any SSD firm!

So where are the 1.500.000 Hours of MTBF OCZ? This 1 failed in less than 500 hours.Thanks to you I lost my data, have to pay once again to get my laptop fully reinstalled and I can not get my cash back because it has been over a month considering that I got it from Newegg.I should have stuck with an Intel drive even at a premium...
