I was originally rather impressed. As one more reviewer noted, the "Y" occurs at the crimp connector and not some house-grown cable splicing job. The latching connector functions well and every thing seemed to be of above-typical quality in this category of device. Soon after running my new drives on the test bench (okay, my workplace floor) for a whilst, I cleaned everything up and slid the drive cage back into the situation. Upon reboot two of my drives weren't noticed. Troubleshooting quickly discovered that the red power wires had come out of their Molex connector and had been dangling freely. This uncovered not only the reality that there was a poor crimp, but also that the leads were not soldered - quite normal process I believed.newegg speedily issued an RMA but it was going to expense more to return the defective component than it originally cost. Dismayed, I contacted the service e-mail address and the matter was taken care of in minutes.Fantastic JOB NEWEGG! A single doesn't have quite a few alternatives in this category, so it is what it is. I would acquire these once again if I required them - perhaps with a bit of inspection ahead of installation.

very good quality, functions like it's supposed to. none not like a lot of other molex to sata energy adapters, this 1 gives 3.3v (orange wire) in addition to 5v and 12v. most tricky drives don't use the three.3v line although.

Fantastic thought for an appropriate price tag. You get what you spend for, and apparently ~Ũ.50 saved more than other branded splitter cables tends to make all the difference. When I inserted the SATA connectors into my drives, the plastic casing completely crumbled, on each ends. I would not suggest this item to any buyer.

Only wants 1 molex connector for two SATA drives for 50 cents far more than the 1 to 1 adaptor. The connectors are well made, I have observed lots of the 4 pin Molex connectors had been the pins were loose and at times come out, these are tightly fit. It has the 3.3V rail. It didn't come with cost-free harddrives? I assume that the SATA spec calls for a constant present on the 3.3V rail, which would make the factor below the heatshrink a resistor, which would make the complete point a straightforward voltage divider. Just a believed.
