Cost. Price. Cost. Even with 25% defect rate the price is correct. Poor quality control. The 1st splitter I pulled out of the package appeared fine but when I utilized it to power my SATA DVD-RW the drive was recognized but the drive tray motor was inoperable. On closer inspection one of the 12 wires was loose from the get in touch with. The design is to crimp two wires into a single pin, therefore providing the splitting. The other half would have worked ok but I prefer not to have bare wire ends floating about my case, so I just unwrapped the next one. The difficulty will also be uncomplicated to fix as soon as I take it to function and recrimp it. I purchased 4 simply because they are so doggone low-cost, and so should you, in case you get a bum one as properly.

This cable is superior due to the fact you can use Sata with a power supply that doesn't have any or few Sata connections and it will directly interface with the molex connector that your exisiting power supply has. the molex connector feels abit affordable, but it works, the wires are in there pretty good. its a very good connector and i would suggest to to anyone.

One of the critiques mentioned the wire coming out of the housing, this occurred to me but i just pushed it back in... took all of 5 seconds. If you don't need to have to take it apart from the molex connector, its fine, it fits extremely snug once its in there

Amazing power transmittance, and high re-usability factor. Powers TWO Entire sata devices for as long as the laptop or computer is turned on! Molex connectors are freakin ugly. They need to rename them to "Uglex connectors" I actually wish they had been free of charge.

Incredibly sturdy style. The sata ends do have clips, which is incredibly good plus. I got the Open Box for this, so I managed to get it a great deal less expensive. Some good discounts for those who obtain in bulk. None afaik.
