Like the locking feature. Well constructed. None. As extended as the pins keep in how else could you mees this up? Generally you buy these and half the pins push out. Not an problem right here. Plus the locking tabs make it added secure

Wonderful high quality None I ordered this before I ordered my motherboard as I thought the motherboard only had a single of these. Even so, it turns out the board came with three and I didn't need to use this.

Metal sata retainer clips do their job. Cheap None. Molex connectors are large and constantly a pain to hook up due to floppy pins and I wish they'd die. In the mean time, this adapter is a excellent value.

Comment:
Standard white molex plastic connector. Sata connectors are quite high grade with metal clip-in on the best edge. A incredibly minor factor but the orange leads are spliced in the middle then covered with a heavy gauge black heat shrink comparable to what you'd see in automotive wiring. No fear of it ever coming undone but it's not a perfectly clean appear with 1 wire spliced on every sata connection.Wish they came with lighted molex connectors in unique colors to choose from so I can theme my case. Would be great if the wiring was shrink wrapped into 1 round cable as an alternative of loose 4 wires to each connector. Would make for a significantly cleaner look. Retail packaging with eyelit for hanging. I necessary this to power an additional drive and whoops didn't comprehend my PSU didn't have adequate sata energy connections. Perfect to use molex to energy the new sata drives. Quite very good construction and did the job of acquiring energy to my new drive very first try. Now I can finally use my new 500gb drive since I've been waiting for this cable.I would undoubtedly obtain this cable once again and can advocate it.

Great four wire construction with metal retaining latchs/clips. A single of this item's photographs shows the old outdated five wire power adapter that is not sold any longer.. making it a tiny confusing as to the item becoming sold. See "Other thoughts". OKGEAR discontinued possessing this molex to sata x2 power adapter manufactured with the fifth 3.3vdc wire in early 2008 mainly because even though it's in the original SATA Rev 1. specification, absolutely nothing demands or uses the three.3vdc coming from a sata power plug that has the three.3vdc wire. If a device uses three.3vdc, it will use onboard conversion circuitry to supply it... not the sata energy connector.

The SATA energy connectors have metal clips to avoid them from accidentally getting knocked out of the socket. While a 90* version would have been great, these are much more than sufficient. The 90* makes for a much more organized/tailored appear ... hence the 4 apples rather of five OKGEAR tends to make a fine product.

All of my earlier SATA power cables kept coming loose, but these factors are great. I use them on all of my hard drives and optical drives. I've heard of people using some SATA devices which these don't fit in result in the manufacturer didn't place adequate room for the latch. My 4 SATA tough drives and two SATA optical drives all work fine with this, so I'm thinking perhaps those stories are user error. ;)

The SATA end has a clip that locks the energy connection onto the HDD which is a really good function None I had purchased the same type of cable locally, but because I like the egg, when I needed additional I ordered a couple sets of these. I tossed out the previous set because they didn't lock into place. I'll continue to acquire much more of these when I need them

Molex to SATA power splitter that. . . well splits and converts your energy from a single molex to the newer SATA energy connectors Ƒ molex to 2 SATA). It works - and it costs a couple of bucks. . . what far more could you want. None If you want one particular - this a single will function.

Was free of charge. Was thrown in as a thank you with my purchase. This item misses the point. There are aplenty power supplies out there that have molex connectors. Most new HDs and optical drives come in SATA. This item must have been Female molex to Male SATA. I could have use for it. Its just an adapter. What else can I say about it? I don't use correct now but possibly in the future? Who knows.

Two SATA for one particular Molex. Seems to have three.3V (converted from 5V somehow). Locking mechanism snaps the connector into the drive. Can't verify three.3V, but it has a line going to those pins with some kind of device inline. My PSU only had two SATA (I'm operating a 4-drive RAID5) and one particular of those broke on me. The converters that came with the drive were straight molex to SATA, which was a lot of cabling.I only will need two of these and two molex and I'm up and running again.I'm not sure what kind of IC you can put inline on a 5V signal that will convert it to 3.3V, unless the SATA spec specifies a constant existing, which would mean it is just a resistor. Anyway, its nice to see the 3.3V even though the drive most likely doesn't use it. Signifies I can hot-swap.
