Patriot PGV38G1333ELK Gaming i5 8GB PC10666 RAM - DDR3, 1333MHz, 2x4096MB, 9-9-9-24
Cons:
None
Pros: 4GB modules, DDR3 Comment:
8GB of RAM at very good value. 2X4GB means you can buy 2 pairs and use with pretty much any board that has 4 slots. Bought it on sale so for the price it's excellent value. |

Patriot PGV38G1333ELK Gaming i5 8GB PC10666 RAM - DDR3, 1333MHz, 2x4096MB, 9-9-9-24
Cons:
- could be cheaper of course- could offer lower timings at 1333 speed- heatspreaders could offer problems with some aftermarket heatsinks
Pros: - some of the cheapest 2 x 4 kits you can buy around- leaves room for 2 more for 16 gigs of ram- WILL run on a AMD AM3 based system- nice looking heatspreaders ;) Comment:
I have this kit for over 2 weeks now stable running on the following:Phenom II X6 1090T g 3.8 Ghz/2.4 Ghz NB-Cpu g 1.36v (multi oc's only)Coolermaster Hyper 212+ (stock included fan on full load)Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H (bios AD latest one)Patriot "Sector 5" DDR3 1333 8 Gig. Kit (2 x 4 gig) Runs 9-9-9-24 g 1.5vCoolermaster 690 II AdvancedCorsair 650HXThis kit has sucessfully ran on both a Phenom II X4 955 BE & now Phenom II X6 1090T BE cpu's i 1.5v's on the above motherboard. According to the guy on the patriot forum the kit on non intel chipsets is supost to default exactly to what timings & voltages mine did.So if your looking for a cheap 8 gig kit to run on a AM3 AMD build seriously consider these. :) |

Patriot PGV38G1333ELK Gaming i5 8GB PC10666 RAM - DDR3, 1333MHz, 2x4096MB, 9-9-9-24
Cons:
Mine were bad. Timings aren't that hot.
Pros: Price, 8GB, attractive. Comment:
Kept getting problems at stock and correct settings until I replaced the sticks with something else.AMD Athlon II X4 system it would be PFN errors.i5 750 system, just random hangs and freezing. Why is anything but G.Skill ram so inconsistent? I took a chance not getting them on this set, guess I learned my lesson. Never had a bad stick of g.skill, but patriots, mushkins, crucial ballistics... all have had a poor % of failure. |

Patriot PGV38G1333ELK Gaming i5 8GB PC10666 RAM - DDR3, 1333MHz, 2x4096MB, 9-9-9-24
Cons:
Too tall, required manual configuration
Pros: Easy, well-protected, inexpensive Comment:
Just installed a new AMD system with this RAM. Worked perfectly to get into BIOS, and once the correct speed (DDR3-1333) and voltage (1.65V) were configured in the BIOS, they've been working perfectly. Very cool full casing---not too important since you rarely see them but useful so that you don't accidentally discharge static, but it makes the RAM a little taller than normal. For reference, the motherboard used is a Gigabyte GA-890FXA-UD5 with a AMD Phenom II X6 Black Edition. |

Patriot PGV38G1333ELK Gaming i5 8GB PC10666 RAM - DDR3, 1333MHz, 2x4096MB, 9-9-9-24
Cons:
-Only tested with Intel
Pros: -High Density-Large Heat-spreaders-Great timings Comment:
Replaced a set of Crucial 1GB sticks with these (2GB dual channel), excellent timings and speed. Had to use the XMP profiles to stabilize (Blu-Ray drive was causing system to crash 30 minutes into Sherlock Holmes) but that's not really a huge issue. If you're looking for quality, high-density RAM these are about as good as you can get. Unfortunately these aren't tested with AMD (would probably still work). |

amazing

Youll be glad to spend your money. Every time you play a game youl sea how fast this is. Look at the speed, not the amount of memory or price |
Patriot's MIR is pretty good. I got it a month after I sent the MIR in. 8gb ram is more than enough for mostly everyone. I had no trouble installing this memory although it does defaults at 1066 hz (not the 1333 as advertised). You will have to go in your BIOS and manually clock it to 1333hz using the timings. I'm using an AMD CPU so that might have something to do with it as this is "optimized" for intel CPU's.
