Included heat spreader is incredibly efficient and appreciated. Worked as expected (very properly!). Restricted lifetime warranty is also quite appreciated. Handled overclocking well. Price tag came down ฮ due to the fact I purchased :( Will most likely be buying once again. Exceptional business and product.

Patriot Viper modules are Made IN THE USA!!!Initially I had issues running this memory at 1600 with my EVGA x58 motherboard. The limitation was due to the BIOS, NOT the memory. These are just the pains of becoming an early adopter of a new platform.Kudos to EVGA for the great job they have been performing of updating/tweaking their BIOS, literally releasing a new version a week. This of course will slow down as the platform matures. The memory has been working as advertised with the recent BIOS updates. None. This memory operates perfectly and looks excellent to top rated it off! Many years ago I learned Patriot manufactures some of their memory modules here in the USA (but I do not consider all are). Considering that shopping for American is important to me, I decided to give them a try. I'm glad I did.I've utilized Patriot memory in all of my builds over the past many years and have Under no circumstances had a difficulty.I am not certain why so quite a few men and women are reporting problems with their memory. I suspect it could be BIOS concerns like I was originally possessing 񢃀 is technically overclocking as a person previously pointed out).Another issue might also be due to improper handling of the modules. Are right ESD (static) precautions getting taken though handing/installing the memory? If you are unfamiliar with Patriot, don't be reluctant to give them a try. Patriot backs their products with a limited lifetime warranty. Not to mention Newegg's outstanding client service as properly.

When it boot properly there was no BSOD or memory errors Couldn't install Vista x64 with three Dimms installed mainly because of memory management errors. Had to get rid of 2 dimms !But the real pain what when booting the computer system, only 1 out of 10 it would locate the 6gb installed....There was no poor stick.I suspect poor SPD programming Bought a triple channel kit Corsair Dominator rather and it work perfectly. It was my initially Patriot obtain and my final. But their USB crucial are working fine ! When they operate they are rapidly, they run fine at their advertised speed plus some. Their heat spreaders function nicely. Getting all the tri-channel stuff, it makes it fascinating when troubleshooting.I lastly narrowed it down to one module in one particular of the sets causing LOTS of blue screens. I've since been operating on one particular set fine, and I'm praying that the RMA'd set I get dosn't have issues.. I had to upgrade my Asus Rampage II's bios to get it to read the SPD settings appropriately.I'm paying for becoming an early adopter, but man I wish Pc hardware could get it correct when stuff is first released. Manufacturer Response:Dear Consumer,We are sorry for the inconvenience that these modules might have triggered you. All of our modules are 100% program tested prior to leaving our facility. Memory functions flawlessly as advertised. Heat sink appears functional however uncomplicated and not too significant/annoyingly elaborate/etc. Maintain in thoughts that given that 1600MHz is technically an overclock, your motherboard will practically definitely not automatically set your RAM's clock to 1600MHz, but to the default 1066MHz. This is has nothing at all to do with the memory, but the motherboards default settings. Merely enter the BIOS and change it to the right 1600MHz clock speed, save and exit. None as of but. The current price tag isn't specifically appealing, but it's the latest stuff so what can you expect? I was initially slightly hesitant to acquire Patriot memory, only due to the fact I've never ever applied it prior to as I usually reach for Kingston/Corsair with out a second believed. This was the only 6GB DDR3 kit in stock when I ordered (and I had to get it elsewhere, Newegg was sold out). Even so, soon after this purchase I have no much more reservations picking Patriot memory. FYI, I installed this memory on an Asus P6T Deluxe with a Core i7 940. The out-of-the-box BIOS version was 0804, which recognized and handled the all three DIMMs flawlessly. I have given that updated to the current BIOS version, 1003 (which, among a handful of other things, further improves memory compatibility).

Having had luck with patriot memory in the past I decided to give them a try with these modules. I bought two sets of these (from newegg). One particular set runs perfectly fine. Runs at rated speeds Second set (to get me to 12 gigs) has a dead chip. The module will not even register with the motherboard/BIOS. I realize DOA's do take place. We will see how it goes with Patriot's RMA process. Manufacturer Response:Patriot prides itself on the quality and value of our products. Runs to spec. Passed memtest86+ two hours. Heat spreaders seem like they would really function! Doesn't want to go significantly over 1600 mhz. Incorrect default settings for motherboards. (maybe worth half an egg) I feel all boards default to 1024mhz ʁ.5v for all ram. While this setting is stable for this ram, it is not as rapid as it could be. You will want to alter both the voltage setting to 1.65v, and the frequency setting to get 1600mhz. This ram is not stable at 1600mhzƯ.5v (nor really should it be, the spec says 1.65v, and intel says this voltage is secure). I'm not specifically confident why, but memtest86+ reports a similar speed for the ram as for the i7 920's cache in triple channel mode. Why even have one more layer of cache?

Cool heat Sinks. ASUS P6T recognized them. I had these up high as 1800 Mhz. They default to 1066 Mhz on my board, but runs fine at 1600 Mhz ʉ-9-9-24 and 1.66 V. Got them for more affordable some exactly where else. The inside of the Heat sinks are not blue. It's this cream corn color. They ought to have produced it black. I ordered the same memory and noticed a different reviewer having a dilemma with the speeds not reaching 1600. The difficulty is with that persons motherboard. It doesn't assistance 1600 speeds. Next time attempt ordering the right item before giving a bad and misinformed review. Too numerous people here who should not be touching computers or electronics who do, knowledge a challenge, then rate a item incorrectly. 1 con of course would be the Intel motherboard which I would in no way acquire too.

Like other recent reviewers, I had problems attempting to run a Corsair XMS set of RAM with my eVga X58 3-way SLI and core i7 920. I sent it back to Newegg for a full refund and went with this RAM, which works perfectly. I'm glad that I read other critiques and checked the eVGA web site which lists this RAM as becoming compatible with my board. Set to XMP and runs at DDR3 1600. Kindof a baby bluish color, how about deep red? :) I've always had great luck with Patriot memory, I wish I had gone with this set from the get started.

My original RAM had a poor stick, got all 3 replaced and now every thing is running smoothly. Thanks to Patriot for posting detailed timing data to their site and linking it in their evaluation responses. I haven't utilized them (yet) but it's superior to know they're on leading of things. 1Ǚ sticks from my very first batch were poor. Patriot requirements to enhance their QA process to not let bad sticks out.
