Patriot Xporter Magnum 64GB Flash Drive (USB2.0 Portable)
Comment:
just as quick as any other usb drive i've utilised. appears nicely built, just as thin as the thinnest i've had. fits fine in my front pocket (a various pocket that my phone's). pretty dang wide - wide sufficient i need to have to use an extention cord (provided) in sockets exactly where its subsequent to another applied usb socket that's layed out with its narrow edges next to each and every other. no a major deal, tho. i'd rather it be in a rubbery housing like the xporter (i'm afraid to drop it) but i can see that would make it even fatter. the not-so-roundy corners are freightening, thinking about the other junk i carry in my pockets. the light is burried under a part of the housing's finish cap. i want to see that. i wish it was 1tb and smaller <and i could relocate to the future>. the size isn't a major deal. the practically sharp corners aren't so negative, either, as lengthy as i dont put it in my iphone's front pocket (its exclusive house). the factor i dislike most is the non-rubbery housing. it performs flawlessly.

Comment:
Relatively modest form aspect for the storage size. Acceptable write speeds (I'm finding Ӵ-9MB/s sustained). Good brushed metal finish the lame white lanyard and the truth that the cap would fit on the back through use if it weren't for the lanyard. An embedded side loop for the lanyard to attach would've been perfect. The cap problem isn't as negative as I thought. It fits rather snug, though I'm positive it will get lost in a few days. Remember if you want file sizes a lot more than 4GB on this factor, you need to reformat to NTFS. This is my 1st USB drive more than 1GB, so never ever believed about FAT32 as default f.s. becoming an problem.

Size Terrible physical design. Mine broke nearly quickly. It is too big for the usb make contact with and tends to want to bend from side to side. Following mine broke, we took it apart to try to re-solder the points of contect to the usb housing to no avail. I would stay away from this drive...it desires to be streamlined. Patriot Xporter Magnum 64GB Flash Drive (USB2.0 Portable)
Comment:
Huge Capacity, no problems formatting NTFS, effortlessly recognized by all workstations, aluminum casing. Its wider than typical by about 50% of normal thumbdrive. This is not necessarily a negative thing just a thing to maintain in thoughts. It is significantly slower than expected. Write speeds are about typical and read speeds are really slow. I tried testing by booting to VM's from the device and it was like watching paint dry. The cap effortlessly falls off in your pocket and will be the initial factor to disappear generating the usb plug susceptible to damage. I modded mine with a military grade metal lanyard that keeps the cap from getting lost even if it falls of. I posted a video to youtube on how to do this. Do a search for 64GB and Magnum and it will show up Manufacturer Response:Greetings,Initially, thank you for sharing a remedy to a possible conflict that some users could come across. Please do not hesitate to contact the Support Department so that we can see about getting that cap replaced for you.Any and all input our shoppers have in regards to the design of our USB Drives is often welcome. Sturdy, high capacity, quick, reliable none I've been carrying this in my front pants pocket to and from function just about every day for more than a year and the cap still stays on each the front and back ends (you can park the cap on the reverse end when in use). It's quick - I have my whole internet web page on it - rock solid, enormous and utterly dependable. I've had numerous flash drives, and this 1 stands head and shoulders more than them all. If this 1 ever did wear out, I'd get the 128GB black one.

This is a fantastic little drive. I have about 38 GB of music, and was in a position to shop it all here and (as one more reviewer did) use it with my Ford Sync method. It's incredible how rapidly the car indexes the music now rather of when I employed my 80GB Zune -- much less than a minute as opposed to about 15 minutes in the past -- and gaps among track playback is very smaller now. No cons yet. Seems incredibly sturdy, and the red color fits with my auto color. :-)

Has around 60 GB of useable space, but that's to be expected. Really excellent cost when you factor in the rebate! Doesn't have an indicator light, but not a reason to ding it. I hope this drive doesn't fail unexpectedly like my C-----R did. Won't be using C----ir once more. But I know now to back up the stick, just in case.

- 64GB of USB memory ƕ-7 DVDs)- accessories to keep it as a keychain or on your neck- observed people complaining about losing a cap. A note: the cap can be attached to the back of the USB Flash drive when it's plugged into an USB outlet. If you lose it, it's your own fault. This is the finest style any manufacturer could come up with. - it's USB 2., so it's max. 32MB/sec transfer. It is SLOW, even if it's quicker than other USB two. Flash Drives- cost of 1 GB is sky high.- by no means seen my rebate. Implies by no means obtaining Patriot brand once again. How to get 4 times more quickly and with 8 times capacity storage for the similar cost. For ๠ get a two.5" 320GB 7200rpm 16MB cache SATA II drive, add ฤ enclosure for two.5" drives with eSATA output, add an eSATA card (PCMCIA, ExpressCard, PCI Express controller) for ฤ-ฮ.The day I bought this 64GB USB Flash Drive will usually remind me to do some study before I give other people an excuse to call me some much less than complimenting epithets. Manufacturer Response:Dear PeterATL Please contact me concerning troubleshooting this concern. I would like to establish if your drive is operating inside standard specifications so that we can resolve this issue. Size. Works nicely. Happy with transfer rate. Cost - but it is comparable with other flash drives of this size. Have not had problems, reported by other people, with the cap staying in place. Appears to snap in and remain put. No issues with speed. Large capacity. I'm really happy with it. It is larger than most flash drives. There will be some PCs where it will be just too wide to plug directly into the usb port. In this case, utilizing the included extension cable is a little bit inconvenient, but it works nicely and is a little price to pay for this kind of capacity.

sturdy, decent write speed, looks cool and tucks in snugly into my time capsule / desk drawer. i want to see an emphasis on speed rather of just capacity. i have the nasty habit of getting these varieties of drives and making use of them for archiving then just giving them away in a couple of years following the actual globe value is worth 10$ or so. sort of like floppy's utilised to be i guess. I HATE the patriot name, the drives appear fine so far but i really feel like I'm supporting some radical right wing memory corporation that harshly interrogates its clients for marketplace study or one thing. i feel dirty.... Manufacturer Response:Dear Anonymous I'm sorry you have concerns Patriot Memory. As a business we are straight flyers (with each wings). I really like the hardware itself. I use it for my WB HD Television to watch movies. It's quick, and it's aluminum rugged casing makes me feel secure that it is accident proof. I see now they have a 128GB Xporter Magnum for 踯, which is amazing, but comes out to considerably more cash than purchasing two of these models and finding the similar storage - so it's a deal. Their rebate technique is super slow! I purchased my flash memory at the finish of April. It's mid July and I'm nonetheless waiting for it - not cool. I know that they have to factor in 30 days buffer of achievable returns, but this is excessive. Manufacturer Response:Dear Anonymous I'm sorry the rebate technique has been slow for you. It's been through the washing machine once. I put it in a bag of rice for 24hrs, took it out, plugged it in, and it didn't lose a single byte of information.) The cap! Please, Patriot, address the concerns with this model's cap. I've 'lost' it a number of times due to the fact it fell off at some point, and I didn't notice until later. I'm mulling more than buying the 128GB version of this drive since of the wonderful encounter I've had with the 64Gig, but the cap is a hold up. Short of the cap getting loose and providing little protection, this has been the greatest USB Stick I have ever owned--hands down.

Very, quite, extremely quickly for a USB stick. That's not to say that a USB connected tough drive may not be quicker but the characteristics of a flash drive has advantages in quite a few uses. Tested Writing speed of 12.9 MByte/s and aReading speed of 28.3 MByte/s A small huge - I advocate using the USB extension cord to reduce the risk of whacking it with some other component of your PC. Little complaint - I'm nonetheless very happy with the device. I had an OLD 4 gig USB mamory stick from Patriot that got quirky with 1 of my laptops but worked with every single other laptop or computer in the residence. Worked with tech support without results - they replaced it with out an problem. Lifetime warranty appears to be accurate in Patriot's case.

Nice looking. Comes with extension cable and lanyard.Worked out of the package. Appears as quick as the 32GB patriots so far. LED is horrible. It's buried in the end and hardly visible. If you store the cap on the end it is even much less visible. The LED is handy for me to see mainly because I have various drives and I want to be positive which 1 is which, if you follow. The 32GB patriots have quite bright LEDs suitable on the "top"

Lightweight, easy to carry, huge. Quite slow with transfers of large files. High-priced. I had a portable two.5" USB difficult drive create complications with a KVM setup for two computers and believed that the Patriot would be simple to use and suite my purposes of transferring files back and forth among a computer system at function and my personal computer. I have to have to transfer files quickly and on the fly as needed. Discovered the Patriot was too slow and does not compare with a 2.five" portable HD. If you want rapidly, effective file transfer, forget about using flash memory devices and go with a very good old portable hard drive. Manufacturer Response:Greetings,There are obvious advantages and disadvantages to either a portable external hard drive and an USB drive.Depending on your requirements, 1 will always be a superior option than the other. Big capacity, tiny form factor, comfortable to wear everydayReally quickly for it's size none Small slow to intiaite with pc, but quite rapidly transfer rates. I can have a movie, and the movie player on the Flash drive , and watch the movie with the player (uncommon) on any personal computer. I carry about 8-10 full high quality (DVD9) movies and watch them any where, any time.Generally have to carry two flah drives, one with the video on it, and 1 wth the player on it. This unit nonetheless, is quick sufficient and lage sufficient to do each.
