it functions the fan on this issue is louder than you could ever envision. and no, i did not have a defective unit. there was no whining, no grinding, no clicking... this point just howls. the sound of air moving by the grill and previous its own parts can be heard from other floors in my home. i called newegg on the second day and got an RMA to send these back final time i'll ever attempt to low cost my way out on a power supply.i would've provided it 1 star, but it did perform, so i gave it 2

Worked okay for a year and four months. Most of the time. PSU didn't fry any of my elements. Performed worse than the nine-year-old PSU it replaced. Louder too. It was the loudest fan in the machine. Machine would sometimes turn on, but could not POST. Just no signal to the monitor, till I held power button for 5 seconds, then turned the machine back on. Ultimately, right after a single year and four months, it will not do something at all when the power button is pressed. Tried jumping the PSU manually, won't turn on. PSU is extremely light, feels cheap (get what you pay for?) Old PSU is heavier. Upgraded an old machine with the following specs:Pentium III 1GHz 133MHz FSB512MB PC100 SDRAM80GB 7200RPM WD ATA HDDNVIDIA GeForce 6200 PCISome PCI 56K Modem (don't even need to have it, but just in situation?)Some PCI Ethernet AdapterPreviously: This PSUI bought this PSU thinking the old 1 couldn't handle the GeForce 6200. Turns out I was incorrect, and it was the opposite. The nine-year-old Compaq PSU is rated for 145W and 3.5A on the იV rail. This hunk of junk is rated for 380W and 18A on the იV rail. Yet the old one particular performs much better. I have tested the voltage of the old PSU with a multimeter on the იV and ƳV rails, although booting, idle, under load (CPU + GPU,) იV rail is often 11.8V-11.9V, ƳV is also at a stable 5.1V on the old PSU. Running all the stuff listed in the above specifications just fine. Great old faithful PSU. Will most likely replace yet again soon although, just in situation. Amazed at how quiet this machine is with the old PSU.

Nada Just to let you know...it took out the motherboard. Thanks Raidmax. I had really low power requirements (no exactly where close to approaching 380W), and this junk took out my motherboard at first start out up. Don't opportunity it guys. DO NOT! A new process toast. The mobo and CPU were affordable enough, but nonetheless. Not worth the hassles.

Cheap Incredibly light, lighter then some other cheap power supplies I have noticed.Failed 32 days immediately after I bought, about 20 days of work. Really light load with older method, so very light power consumption - nevertheless died. I would not acquire it if I knew it would not last even a couple of years. Now have to spend to RMA.

Keeps papers from blowing off my desk Horrible excellent control So I choose up a low cost PSU for a junker Computer I'm tossing with each other and of course, the PSU is DOA.Now I take the stupid issue out and see a giant "QC PASS" sticker exactly where "quality manage" supposedly tested this piece of poop ahead of ruining my weekend with it. There is no way everyone tested this factor. There is no way an inspector got within a parsec of this stupid issue. They just put these stickers on junk to make you feel excellent. They don't really mean something. I'd be greater off if they place a Hello Kitty sticker on right here. So now I get to go via the fun of reboxing this heap and sending it back to Newegg. What a uncover begin to the weekend.I'd like to get ahold of old "Inspector Number five" at this factory and kick him square in the stones.

Cheap expense. Functions effectively. Can tell it's not like some of the uber low-cost models you see for similar price. Significantly better manufacturing and elements. Only 1 SATA connector. Hopefully you have an old Molex to SATA power cable dangling around some where if you hope to have a lot more than 1 SATA device. Functions ok. Could genuinely use another SATA power connector. Or at least involve a molex to SATA cable convertor.

Works for approx. 6 months Will burn out in a handful of months and take your motherboard with it. Do not get this PSU. Go get a Corsair and defend your system with clean reliable energy that won't fail. I went inexpensive 1 time and bought this for a secondary desktop, now I'm kicking myself. I've constantly run with Corsair and never had any problems at all, why oh why did I stray from my values.

none PSU blew right after 3 months. I turned on the Pc one day and saw and heard sparks and promptly pulled the AC plug. The Computer with this PSU was only occassionally applied. This PSU was bought from a B&M store, and I in no way got the Mail-in-rebate from Raidmax. I haven't tried other Raidmax solutions but this Energy Provide is ridiculous.

Puts up the energy I want By FAR the loudest component in my system. Not worth sending back, so I'm out ฤ. Purchased this for a custom develop for my mom who only uses the pc for net surfing and occasional word processing. Nice low cost develop I was pretty proud of until her very first comment about the new computer system was "Its really loud" Going to put out a small far more and get the Antec Basiq 350. Can not be louder than this issue. [Current Construct Specs: This PSU, 2GB DDR2 RAM, AMD Athlon II X3 with stock cooling, 250GB WD Blue Caviar, LG Lightscribe SuperMulti DVDRW, APEX TX-381 Case with 120mm case fan]

None I have built a couple of computers, and never ever had a challenge with a PS. This factor is worthless. Not even worth the return or RMA. You got me on this 1 Newegg. It was going into a incredibly simple Sempeon 140 technique, w/ onboard video, so the power requirements had been close to zero. There is no way these had been tested, no way. Newegg wants to speak to their vendors, I am certain the failure rate on these PS are high, and unacceptable. You can maintain this junk...this one particular is going into the trash.Don't obtain it. Worthless.

Incredibly affordable. Nearly also low cost for what it is. Came in three days (free shipping) and a day earlier than the listed tracking arrival date. Have not had a single failure or unusual smell . . . . . yet.PS fan is as quiet or quieter than the 3 other case/window fans in my full tower unit when the PSU fan is running. (see Cons below) The mfgr's box it came in did not lead me to think it was made by Raidmax. It looks like a Chinese knock-off of a excellent top quality Chinese made PSU.Soon after about a month operation I went in the back to plug in a FlashDrive and observed the power provide's cooling fan WAS STOPPED!! I quickly grabbed a paper clip and gave 1 blade a shove thru the opening slot. It began and ran. I have no thought how many occasions it was stopped for each of my 5 to 8 hour sessions. Thankfully, the 3 other case fans developed sufficient downstream air flow to avoid a PSU meltdown. There had been no obstructions or dust balls present that may possibly have jammed it. It seems to manually spin simply with the power off. It was operating when I 1st installed the PS as a replacement for an old 300W dead 1. Now, every boot-up I have to reach back there to feel for airflow to confirm it's running. The physical exercise is wonderful, but was this PSU a bargain?? A stalled fan could be at the root of ALL of this model's smelly meltdown failures we have read about. My advice: Use a little aligned wall mirror or reach back there to confirm your fan is running. Or you can just forgetaboutit and have a new ็ PSU at the prepared.

Low-cost? After four weeks of use, the power supply decided to give out. It began to shoot sparks, crackling and popping, and then giving out completely. I'm not entirely sure what provoked it, we utilised it in a Computer that we utilised to watch Netflix/YouTube/etc. The pc is only operating 1 5600 RPM challenging drive, a DVD ROM drive, a Pentium 4 processor, and an old ATI graphics card. Perhaps that was also much load for it? I didn't think that would be.Anyways, I lucked out. The only component that the power provide took with it to its grave was a 10-year-old sound card I had in the pc. From now on, I will be getting no more low-cost power supplies. I've replaced it with a Rosewell 680 W power provide. So far so very good.
