Raidmax Smilodon ATX Mid-Tower Case - Black Front USB Ports Clear Side
Comment:
This case looks great! Green's always been my color and it's difficult to find in instances (blue usually wins out). It also functions properly, as long as you don't touch it very often. While it worked excellent for the 1st install, getting in and out of the case over time has brought on a single door deal with to snap off (without significantly force) and the other one feels prepared to go any moment.Front panel USB and audio outs avoid door from closing...The front panel is held on by six plastic clips that, when place below a modest quantity of shear stress, are probably to snap off. I packed my case in it's original packaging (with improvements even) and during shipping all six pegs snapped off so now my complete front panel acts as a door...My reset button got stuck in the middle so I had to disconnect it from my MB to maintain my laptop from randomly rebooting. The toollessness of the case was good at the beginning, but as all the functional plastic bits retain breaking, I'm going back to tooled instances.

- Green color is uncommon amongst personal computer circumstances- Tool-less design- Optional fan placement- Has the "wow" aspect to impress guests - Stock fans are also weak - I've had to replace raidmax fans from just about every case I've purchased- Cable management is a discomfort with a non-modular PSU. See other evaluations- Some front panes don't match into external 5.25" bays. NZXT fan controllers and other panels won't work with the tool-much less style.- Door never ever closed ideal - Its slightly tilted- Some of the front wires are very easily broken This case looks wonderful, but its been a pain to perform with, and I wouldn't buy another. I finally threw in the towel when the wiring for the front LEDs broke when I replaced the front fan.

LED lights on front are excellent look, and on side. Large case with lots of ventilation. Situation is a little heavy but sturdy if your not moving the situation about its very good. HDD brackets and drive bay, the only complaint is these brackets placing them on the HDD. Fantastic case Get IT, in method of the rebate.

Incredibly higher quality construction, comes with four fans, stunning green LEDs, simple to install all of your hardware, lots big adequate to match your big video cards. A little on the hefty side, want to set up your own 5th fan on the correct side. My tower fell off of my 3 foot tall bed and all that occurred was my CPU heat sink came uncliped and a piece of the door came unclipped, took all of 2 minutes to repair, not a dent or scratch on it. :)

Good clear side panel and uncomplicated load HDD drives. Plenty of space and it looks quite cool i guess. It went properly for like two months but the side panel fan started to buzz seriously loud and i poked it with a screws driver threw the grate to make it stop. The cables that go to the fans are actually low-cost and break if your not carefull. Very same with the cables that feed the front panel lights. The take care of that opens the door sticks occasionally and is cheaply produced. Raidmax is a poor brand.. i have had no troubles with my cooler master case and i have had it for 3x occasions longer. Satan lives.

Cheap, simple to place collectively, effortless to clean. All fans (minus the front intake) come off the case either with a handful of screws or plastic snap-locks. Makes keeping dust out real simple, and if you're clever sufficient, the front intake fan is simple to clean as effectively. The steel is strong and sleek! And the LEDs are genuine purdy :). I really like the notion of the foldout MB and stow-away mini toolkit, produced the initial assembly and later upgrades super hassle-free. Add that to the "click-lock" drive setup, and the computer virtually builds itself. And, following a year and a half of semi-bi-monthly cleaning, the case and cooling equipment are nonetheless in just about fantastic shape. HDD activity light is.... extremely nicely hidden, and is tricky to see via the blinding green LEDs its installed subsequent to. The front USBs came installed upside down! Excellent job, Raidmax, you won me more than. I'll be utilizing this case for my subsequent develop.

Easy, uncomplicated, effortless to place with each other. Used this case for my 1st make and loved it.--Slide-out motherboard tray is a neat trick, was pleased to have it.--Screws and hdd brackets are hidden nicely beneath the hdd rack.--Green LEDs don't disappoint--Runs incredibly quiet but supplies lots of airflow--Front cover utilizes a simple and subtle magnet to keep it closed. Adds to the ease-of-use and the wonderful looks. --Case came 1 stand-off brief PCI stabilizer bracket appears quite worthless, and I'd be concerned about it interfering with some cards. My 5770 fit just fine.I read testimonials mentioning broken pieces or questionable paint application, but mine came in wonderful situation. Looks fantastic. A bit tight when every thing's inside, but a modular PSU could have saved me from that. All in all, incredibly pleased with this case for my initial create.

Case operates fine... requires far more airflow even though Rebate is a big friggin lie. It seriously irritates me when corporations steal from you. I will by no means acquire RAIDMAX again. They outsource the rebate to some website that is very engrishy, and right after numerous emails to that firm AND raidmax, nothing. No matter now great the item, deceptive organizations ought to not be supported. And, frankly, this isn't even the very best case out there for the price range.

Comment:
1) Unique case aesthetics. The LED lighting is lovely, and effortlessly replaceable if you want a diverse color (I installed red LEDs as an alternative of green).2) Modern: The fold down side panel + the fold down motherboard tray are a giant plus in a mid-size case like this. In addition, the removable hard drive bays and tool-much less design raise the ease of use greatly.three) The magnets on the front door preserve it closed well.four) The provided four fans (good deal) operate properly. They do not appear to be producing an unbearable amount of noise (just a slight whisper for now) and are effortless to manipulate.five) Feels really stable. None. This case performs tremendously. All fans worked on arrival, it showed up in fantastic situation, and it was fun to mod. For these who have left evaluations, or looking into this case, I have a few suggestions. A large quantity out there have cited "cons" they have with this case which I feel are unfair.1) People have said they don't like the case due to the fact the front has a door. My suggestion to you then is to not get a case with a door! Easy.two) They've had issues with the fans and claim they are poor excellent or break straightforward. Whilst I can't argue with a fan that's DOA I had not difficulties with these fans and was even in a position to mod them quite easily. My suggestion: don't be so freakin' challenging on your gear that you tear cables out.3) They really feel the material is flimsy. This case is steel. Steel is durable. I enjoy this case mainly because it is heavy and feels safe. The only thing that could be enhanced upon with regards to this case is a greater group of front ports, a full-size ATX alternative, and far more awesomeness. For now, consider about what you acquire a lot more obviously beforehand.

The appear - it does a 'beautiful' job of operating your laptop or computer equipment. Really effectively constructed!Does a decent job at cooling, doesn't make a lot of noise, and I use it on a secondary Pc that is employed to record/edit music. Its a bit of working pulling it down to swap video cards/etc (lot of wires operating in a modest area for fans. Little much less space then most situations, but don't let it preserve you from buying it simply because its only a minor inconvience when upgrading, stacking a new pc - no concerns. If your stacking three video cards, may possibly get a bigger rig. Like the look, I would acquire an additional, and would suggest it for single video card gaming/home office rigs.

Excellent caseFantastic costWonderful looksReally uncomplicated to install tricky drives / Floppy Drives (LOL) / CD/DVD Rom Drives...etcComes with all the screws / parts you will will need in a tiny carrying case that fits neatly in the bottom of the tower. Paint scratches quite straightforward, in truth mine was scratched :( not almost sufficient to worry about an RMA or even dock the points. It's a pc case, not a shrine to the water lords. The side panels fold open really very easily, which is a fantastic pro - but they also pop off fairly quickly which can trigger for some extremely awkward reassembly if you are midst rebuilding your tower and you were not prepared for the door to completely pop off. The handles to open the doors a bit touchy, which means it does not take a lot to bump it and result in it open when you are not prepared. Not as well substantially of a con, just means you need to have find a far better spot to rest your hand when moving the system. Extremely significantly wort the money in each and every way shape and form. :)

air flow is extremely very good, it came with two 80mm and 2 120mm fans and has a spot for another 80mm fan to cool the HDD.led's appear quite fantasticeach side panels fold down which is extremely nice, that way you don't have to dig around in the case to operate on it, you can just fold out the MB panel. hdd activity light is combined with a green case light so it is extremely tough to see.

This case looks good, to begin with, green is my favourite color, and the black finish tends to make it appear truly sleek. On the additional technical side of issues, the case is quite roomy and if setup adequately (even although most folks need to be fine) it can have incredible airflow. The only thing I don't like is the truth that I cant straight clean the HD fan on the front of the case. But not that big of a deal. Excellent in each specs and look for its cost.

Appears tough. Modified it quite a bit and it has withstood all the tinkering with out breaking. Took off the front swing door... don't know why you want/need it, it just gets in the way of the USB/Audio/Power Buttons. Has little room for cable management but you need to be creative. No problems with airflow. "Rebate" = FAILMost likely not the very best situation in the planet, but i couldn't dock it a entire egg when rating it, possibly worth 4 1ǘ eggs I can see where the situation may get crowded if you plan to install numerous video cards, need to have to be inventive to make the cable management work.

Good case, actually simple to put with each other and I'd recommend for very first timers. Fantastic airflow and lots of space. Moreover the fans can make noise. Not whirring, but as if they aren't aligned perfectly. I dont like getting to slap my case from day 1 to get the fan to quiet down. Mail in rebate is a joke. 10-12 weeks? I'm on week 22 and they don't even have the courtesy of sending me an e mail to inform me it's being "processed." Just silence.

LED lighting on front panel, multi fan arrangements w/many inculded, swing out difficult drive caddy, clear side insert with fan. Drive caddy is screwless and in fact performs fairly effectively as are both sides. I got this situation since of heat difficulties with my final one and no much more area for expansion. This situation is built for awesome and delivers. Mine sits in the Lvng Rm and does not generate a sound hazard from the fans. The only way I know it is on is by the styling green LEDs. Whilst this is set up nicely for cable management, like all instances it would advantage from custom config PS. The drive caddy may well - depending on the length of your drive - place the cables in the way of the video card, esp. if you have a double wide lengthy 1. I have a 52 in 1 card reader/usb/esata/whatever in one of my slots. The door can not be completely closed with a SDcard in the reader. Works ok with microSD, but no joy for SD, MemStick, et al. Just have to bear in mind that when you try to slam, err I imply close the door. Whilst the green LED strips on the ft panel are truly cool, they over energy the 1 tiny red LED for drive action. Its there and does light, but you have to be looking and in the right spot. Ath 64 X2 two.two Oc'd 2.five, Asus M3A78-T Mobo, 6 GB RAM, Win 7 64. Asus 21.5" HDMI LED 1080P

I will acquire once more from raidmax and of course newegg. the only complaint and i might just be picky but the front microphone-in and audio-out ports seem truly tight i guess? compared to the mobo ports, Would prefer for the psu to be on the bottom?

Like i said in my earlyer reveiw, it is a realy good case, but now right after owning it for so long and rebuilding my program a couple times,it does have some flaws that came out. 1-Can not use upper fan on side panel with a huge air heat sink like the 120 extreem, not sufficient space. 2 Construction on each side panels includeing the latches are not made to be heavely used, opening and closeing, they loosen up quick and get extremely sticky in there operation following awhile. 3-If you have a quite major heat sink ,becarefull opening the situation on the mobo dide removeable panel-mine scrapped the power supply, no big harm but did mark it great. four hdd light does not show up with door closed and even open can hardly even notice it. 5 mobo side panel fan is pretty useless-air can not get in considerably at all,or out. All in all-it is nevertheless an alright situation for the income if on sale, and does appear pretty dam excellent. Hope this aids any who read it. Will not acquire one more raidmax situation, due to the fact for the funds now a days better constructed and performing circumstances are out there in the exact same close cost rang.

I bought this situation a couple of days ago and as usual Newegg shipped it immidiately and even with regular shipping I got it really quick ƒ days). The price was great and the situation quality is exceptional. I believe the situation design is nicely thought out. I located it extremely effortless to assemble my new machine. The tilt out motherboard tray is a wonderful thought and made it a dream to work on. The fans are whisper quiet and the green lights are a good adjust from the typical red or blue. The removable drive tray and rail program offered makes placing in your HD's simple and they lock into spot really securely. It would be good if the front USB ports and audio plugins had been either mounted on the side or prime so that you wouldn't want to open the door to access them. Other than this minor nit the case is great. I am so happy with this case I plan to buy a second one for my daughters laptop or computer.

Amazing case. Adore it, adore it, will keep it forever. I've usually been the sort of person that bought the cheapest situation humanly doable, but for my most recent develop (which was 15 months ago) I decided to invest a tiny more and acquire this case. Undoubtedly one particular of the greater choices I have made. I can see myself keeping this situation for future builds. Soon after 13 months or so of day-to-day use I noticed a grinding noise coming from one particular of the fans ideal after I boot my process. 2 months later and I still can\'t figure out which fan it is due to the fact the noise stops inside two minutes of booting my method. But it seems that 1 of the situation fans are slowly dying. For me, a case fan dying right after a year of daily use is perfectly acceptable and I will gladly pay for a new fan the moment the present one particular dies. But it may well not be acceptable for you.The case comes with two side fans, one oriented above the CPU (that glows) and a second farther down near the exactly where the PCI-E slot(s) would be on an typical ATX board. That second fan is big and will most likely get in the way of some video cards' heat sinks. Fortunately it is removable. For me, my video card BARELY fits with that fan attached. So be conscious that you might have to take that lower fan off for your video card to actually fit in the situation. The case also has an empty spot for a different 80mm (maybe 92mm?) fan. The empty spot is oriented to blow into the 3.5" drive bays, so if you plan on employing multiple high-overall performance difficult drives, then you may possibly want to buy a different 80mm fan to assistance cool the drives.
