It is a healthy piece of aluminum that fits my 17 inch hp notebook like a glove, Quite quiet most of the time. The on/off switch is nice as my old cooler didn't have one particular and I didn't realize what a good function this is. None that I have observed This will enable up to a 17" screen, a ten-14" machine may be overwhelmed by the size of this unit.

Excellent Item, does what is essential and what it says it does. Can't be moved simply, but it is not constructed to. Had a complete sized labtop for this, and its keeps it cool. When you get on battery power for a labtop it tends to drain a bit faster, but because this is additional of a stationary product thats not actually an issue.

My daughter's laptop would get as well hot and shut down especially if she tried to play an intense 3d game. This notebook cooler worked so effectively that her laptop was barely warm to the touch but not hot. The laptop no longer shuts itself off. The two fans on the cooler provided ample cooling and were extremely quiet. I couldn't hear them. Yet another plus, the cooler draws it power straight from the laptop so there isn't the need for an further power cord. The cooler doesn't have any spare usb ports (not a problem for us, our laptop has four usb ports). Newegg delivered as promised and the contents had been well protected.

Sturdy black metal create -- about as cool hunting as a cooler can be. The fans are quiet and, even although they are not adjustable, under ordinary circumstances they get the job done. Fans not adjustable. No USB port. Doesn't make crushed ice. I received this as a "gift" with a notebook. I have to return the notebook but I am willing to spend in order to keep the cooler.

None Currently owned one for my wife's laptop, and I knew it was good excellent when I ordered it. She was tired of me stealing hers, and made me order a single with my new laptop. :)

Keeps my 17" HP Entertainment laptop operating cool, even right after hours of gaming. The fans don't specifically line up with the vents on my machine but it nevertheless gets the job carried out. The aluminum frame is a have to when obtaining a cooler IMO, mainly because of the heat transfer... occasionally I don't even run the fans on this 1. none actually. As others have mentioned, it would be nice to have a couple of USB ports built in, but not a biggie for me.Also, it can dig into you legs if you are wearing shorts, but not poor if your legs are covered. My wife has a 15" HP that has begun to overheat and shut down. So I've been letting her use this, and the temp drop is seriously actually big on her machine.

Fits my 17" laptop perfectly. As the item description says, the unit is made out of material that dissipates heat. It does a fantastic job of keeping my system cool. I no longer need to have to use a desk fan throughout regular work/school use; though, I still need to have to use a desk fan when I'm genuinely pushing the laptop's processing limits. When the laptop rests on this cooling unit, the laptop sits at a comfortable angle for typing; though, your final results might vary depending on seat height, desk height, etc. I wish it had a higher fan setting -- it is either on or off...that's it. I would buy this for a family member who has an 18.4" laptop, but I know that laptop will stick out on either side about 1ǘ inch. May just wait till Rosewill tends to make a bigger cooling unit for the new jumbo-sized laptops. This is my 2nd Rosewill item in 5 months -- I've been happy with both items.

The cooling pad is really sturdy; I have two other lower end laptops with ŭ-ten coolers.. Now I know why there's such a large difference in price.I own a DV7-4060us and play all sorts of demanding games (fallout new vegas, mw2, cod4, da da da). This cooling pad manages to keep my laptop's fan from operating. It makes for utter silent gameplay:)If you need to cool your machine, GET 1 OF THESE! They're thick, trustworthy and nearly deadsilent. I took a single egg off due to the cheap d/c->usb cable. Really, very flimsy on either side and lately it's been operating on and off. Not much of a con but the egg off had to be taken away provided the value of this item. I got the version without having extra usb ports but I guess it was just me. Don't seriously will need any other USB ports so it's all fantastic.

studry developquieteffective The fan got a bit noisier soon after the initial couple of days, but no to the level that would annoy I've been shopping for a cooling pad for my Dell XPS 16, which can get as well warm for the duration of processor-intensive loads. Using the Roswill cooling pad had a noticeable impact on the heat generated by the laptop and it rarely gets past the lukewarm stage now. The fan noise began out getting whisper quiet, but immediately after a couple of days it became more noticeable, but nevertheless extremely tolerable. It's easily drowned out by the laptops fans when they kick in (which they do much less often now that I'm employing the cooling pad). It also angles the laptop at a ideal typing/viewing angle for me. My Toshiba 15.5 fits excellent and stays place. pretty comfortable. well believed out and produced. The additional usb ports are fantastic. fans perform properly and are quiet.Havent applied the supplied external power cord yet havent had to. I like the manual fan shut off switch for the occasions I just close the LP and let it sleep. Would be difficult to carry in a regular Lap prime bag. My usb ports are on the left forward side of my Toshiba so a longer usb cord would be a little improvement but not that a lot of a huge deal like some are generating it out to be.

Good black finish, aluminum surface for superior cooling, two very quiet fans. I am utilizing this on a 16" and a 17" laptop, it cools both of them perfectly the fans in the laptops don't even turn on anymore, not even following 3 hours of working with Autodesk Inventor, or soon after several hours of playing Fallout three. Performs like it should and much better then I expected. None for me see other thoughts. The energy cord is kind of short but does not effect me it functions with on each of my laptops without any pressure or strain on either connectors, I have about 1 and half inches of slack left in the cable. For some laptops with usb ports closer to the front of the laptop, it could be a difficulty, it wasn't for me even though.

-Aluminum helps this beauty conduct the heat away from the laptop. It also adds sturdiness to the unit.-Anti-slip grips on the bottom operate quite effectively, and the style creates a incredibly good angle for the keyboard.-Fans are Incredibly quiet, I don't even know they are on unless I place my hand to either side of the laptop and really feel the air getting pushed out. Wish they had a USB hub in this unit for this value, but my firm is just too cheap to pay the additional for the one that does. I have an Inspiron 9400 with a NVidia Geforce Go 7900 GS, which runs really hot. The challenge is that the hard drive is near the video card. The drive would regularly be operating at 112F, now it runs around 90-95F.The biggest challenge I used to have was getting the laptop cooled back down immediately after operating intensive programs. Even at top rated speed the fans just couldn't seem to get the laptop back down to a sensible temperature, unless I shut down for a whilst. No problems now, right after about 5-ten minutes the temps are back down to exactly where they really should be.
