A lot quicker than connecting camera via USB. I had connection problems until I moved it to the front usb ports which my mobo supplies 2X as much energy to than the back ports. This just tells me that this card reader can't accept energy fluctuations or low power.I'm not a big fan of the very vibrant blue LED that shines while it's plugged in. This is greater high quality than a card reader you can get for Ū.

Handles my 4GB SDHC cards like a champ. Haven't had any difficulties at all even working with enormous JPEG and RAW files from my Canon Rebel XSi. None I purchased this reader to replace a less expensive card reader that literally died the first time I applied it, taking my 1GB SD card with it (Total information loss. Took four attempts to format it). Ordinarily you get what you spend for, but so far I've gotten an outstanding card reader at a wonderful value with this little gem.

This is possibly the best way to connect an SD card to a machine not equipped with a card reader. There is no installation or opening the case, as with the multi-card readers that occupy a drive bay. Speed is every thing USB 2. can provide, dependent mainly on the SD card itself. The finish cap fits on with an SD card inserted, defending the SD card. Excellent notion. You can't beat the price tag. I have observed a lot of SD card readers/adapters that cost additional than this 1, but don't provide something added. Fat enough that plugging it in to a USB port generally means you can not use an adjacent USB port, but this is maybe unavoidable, due to the size of SD cards. You may possibly want to pick up a USB extension cable or hub, if you require to plug in lots of USB devices with restricted ports. The blue LED is far brighter than needed. Red would have been a much better selection. But these are really minor gripes. The limiting factor in information transfer speed will be the SD card itself. Even class six microSDHC cards are fairly slow, but it's nevertheless a convenient way to move substantial amounts of data.Speaking of SDHC, this device operates fine with an 8 GB microSDHC card housed in a micro-to-SD adapter. There is no foreseeable reason it wouldn't function with the truly huge-capacity microSDHC cards as properly.

* Seems tough* Basic, sophisticated Adapter needed for Micro/Mini SD If the device you want this for uses Micro or Mini SD, appear elsewhere. It's just a pain taking into consideration the only devices I use an SD card for are Micro. Thus, the only purpose I need the SD adapter is to transfer files. (I'd favor to circumnavigate the middleman)

This small factor is incredibly cool. It does exactly what I require it to do which is read SDHC cards (sold separately) through USB. It is nearly as tiny as general thumb drives. This is a great gadget for a digital camera setup. No want for the USB cable from the camera. Just put the flash memory in this tiny guy, and you're very good to go to copy/move media off the flash memory. Wow, that is one vibrant, blue LED. You may possibly want to put on some SPF 30 when you plug it in. If you don't like the light, put a piece of opaque tape more than it.It is also a small tall/wide around the USB port. If you have USB ports positioned close to every single other, you may well not be able to use the other USB port. The answer to this is to get a USB port extender. Newegg has many types available to acquire. Honestly, why would you obtain an integrated thumb drive. This small guy allows you to very easily swap out the SDHC memory (also readily available for purchase from Newegg). No fiddling with several thumb drives. Also, if you take place to accidentally break the reader's USB port, you still have access to the flash memory in the reader.

Plug and play. Works good with 8gigቬgig microSD from my phone and with OS X.Awesome clear blue design.Super vibrant blue LED light will let you know it's operating from the other space! It's a little wide, so it can get cramped subsequent to other ports, but that was to be expected with one thing like this. Just play musical chairs with your ports. Extremely handy and handy!

Good thought. Hassle-free size. I like that the card slides in the back. Can be left in USB port. This reader is unable to recognize the "lock/unlock" switch on SD cards. So it was read only until I place some electrical tape over the switch on the cards. I assume the write protection switch is either stuck or defective. Not worth returning. But it does get in touch with into question the QA .

Incredibly swift; SDHC compatible; sensible priced. A bit also fat that it blocks adjacent USB ports. Not a major deal if you have far more than two USB ports. The crazy blue activity light is a Con for me coz I can see it even when plugged into the back of my desktop.

Nicely, it's a wonderful reader. I like them so a lot, I've purchased three. I tend to loose them quickly, but I usually acquire this one.I've tried a lot of other card readers. Ones built into my laptop, high-speed USB external-powered, and so forth. This tops them all. Extremely high transfer rate.Caps clip on nicely. You can have your SD card in with the cap covering it. I want a tracking bug for this just before I finish up purchasing a fourth... My initial two had been black variants of this. I preferred the black color, but at the time I purchased my third, black wasn't obtainable. Just an opinion.I've bought a ton of Rosewill solutions not too long ago. They're a great manufacturer with high excellent for a low value. I'd certainly recommend this for anybody looking for a good card reader.I realized I lost 1 at a friend's home, and he didn't understand it was mine... When talking to him on the telephone, he told me about an great card reader he identified... Turned out to be mine, and he loves it, lol.

compact - you will want a mini-SD micro-SD adapters for smaller cards (wasn't included)- not fool-proof design, i put the card in upside down and couldn't figure out why it didn't operate, then flipped - duh - works fine :) - a bit wide in hips, so if you have USB ports close to every single other SIDEWAYS, they may possibly not fit simply (I'm lucky to have them STACKED on best of every other, not sideways, so it's not a con for me)

Does what it was advertised to do and what it is supposed to do. Read/writes all brands and capacities of SD and SDHC cards equally quickly and nicely. Does not read/write class ten cards any quicker than class 1 but it isn't advertised to do so. Quite simple to use, dependable and difficulty cost-free. Good bargain! None Got done in by a couple of other brands and was really leery of this one due to the fact of the price tag but this reader had restored my self-confidence. I did not locate the blue light in the least bit objectionable; guess some people today are just much more sensitive than other individuals. Will likely be ordering more. As usual, fantastic price tag and service by NewEgg. Thanks guys!

Rapid and functional, very handy, so far absolutely nothing but flawless service, plug-and-play Has two diverse caps to preserve up with. Sort of inexpensive-looking (not incredibly stylish). I have an SD-to-Micro SD adapter that I place into this reader, it reads more rapidly than my internal Micro SD reader. For the value, this an unbeatable addition to my developing pile of gadgets and adapters, and I'm presently preferring it over my internal reader. Oh, and it has a Really Vibrant blue LED, for folks who want to know.

The cost was right, it isn't huge, and Newegg shipped speedily as constantly. Operates perfectly when connected to a USB two. hub, or directly to a Pc, but it doesn't appear to want to work when connected via the USB 1.1 hub built in to my G15 keyboard. Not really a show stopper for me, but I could see it becoming relevant for others. General I'm pleased with the item, the value and Newegg's service
