I don't hesitate to drop hundreds, close to a thousand bucks right here at a single sitting...if I have it.Much less expensive than the neighborhood computer system shop/franchise. nada I Left 1 screw out of the leading (when positioned like the image) for heat to escape. 80 gig 7200rpm HD.I liked it so considerably I purchased an additional for my sister to transfer data from her prehistoric computer to the computer I built for her; she couldn't bring herself to burn a bunch of cd's.

Extremely fast, sleek hunting, all parts nicely packaged, and great price. The energy cable can get in the way as you are pushing the disk into the sleeve, had to take it out once more and move the cable out of the way, then it was fine. None

This is a great deal. The only thing that i like but seriously dont like is the power cord. It doesnt drain your usb power, but makes it challenging to be portable. THIS DOES Operate WITH WINDOWS 7 HP. i noticed it didnt say that when I purchased so I believed I would pass that along. not genuinely anything

Nice design and style. Whenever I would attempt to write to the drive, it would crash my computer and would fry the challenging drive... I also attempted two difficult drives with no avail.(DOA) Just asking yourself why the side of the box stated Sata to USB when the enclosure was IDE to USB? It's a solid situation slim and uncomplicated install straightforward format methods. Cooling; not sufficient venting. It could appear better but then they could want more for it. I just my fab my own next time.

Great design, no frills, feels solid. Unit smoked immediately after a couple of hours. This seems to be a heat problem. The unit is generally just a metal wrapper for the drive with adequate space for the IDE->USB conversion electronics on the back. Drives get hot, and there is absolutely nothing to move the heat out.I live in southern Arizona, so heat issues are a lot more of an concern for me than for most. It is a great solid feeling unit.Purchased it so I could hand a few hundred GBs of information to a buddy with out confusing them, given that this unit died immediately after about 2 hours, I just switched the drive with their CD-ROM and am letting them pull the data like that. I don't mind acquiring out the screwdriver, I just wanted to keep away from obtaining to muck with their computer (it often leads to something else).In all probability not worth the hassle to RMA. Low-cost, straightforward to setup, small power supply brick with extended energy cord. Has very good transfer speed. Quickly Newegg shipping Screws can tricky if you don't take your time. Good drive situation, stable plastic foot keeps it uprite. Just remember it doesn't have a cooling fan so hold the device in an region exactly where air can circulate freely about the case.

Wonderful small enclosure for my old Western Digital tough drive that came from a incredibly old WD External that the USB plug snapped off the board. Good construction, feels solid. My only con is the blue led, Im personally not a fan of blue led's but practically anything I habe came with blue led's... It could probably be swapped out, but I dont assume its seriously worht the time. This enclosure has out-carried out my expectations, I have also purchased the 2.5" version for my laptop drive I swapped out to not let that go to waste. I could have a very good 3.5" SATA drive and will not hesitate to get the SATA version when I can.

Did precisely what it was supposed to. I applied a 3 year old previously utilized Western Digital 160GB IDE difficult drive, followed all the directions, and presto - a 160GB USB two. external tough drive! Has worked perfectly from day one particular. none Outstanding option for those of you who have an old IDE tricky drive that you're not at present working with. Very good construction. Goes together easily and quickly. operates wonderful. looks excellent subsequent to my thinkpad. stand saves space and does not move about. power adapter is a good size and travels effectively. Keeps my old drive alive. Excellent deal for the price tag. It is heavy but part of that is my drive. on the upside it does not move about on your desk. Even although it is heavy, I carried to and about London via plane and public trans. I had no dilemma with assembly and believe it is a very good style. If I had so much difficulty putting it together that I broke it I hope it would get recycled as it is metal. I may have contacted Rosewill assistance as well, I lost my adapter in London and needed the specs to replace it. assistance not only got me the specs, but sent me a replacement at no expense. This is one of three Rosewill products I have bought(the other individuals being net cams) and I am impressed with their products so far.

uncomplicated, strait forward, functions. n/a had some buddies that required some external storage space and i had some old hd's lyin around. this affordable little guy worked out perfectly

Tiny form element & fantastic construction. Extremely sleek with no sharp edges anywhere. It's really modest and not a lot larger than the HD itself. If you can image dipping a HD into black tar and then removing it then that's what it would end up searching like in size. Plus the ş pro would be is that it operates! If I have to give a con it would be the very little slide on/off switch. But on the other hand it is quite functional. None.

It showed up Newegg quick Killed a new difficult drive soon after 30mins of transfering files for storage.....worthless with no a hard drive to use it. I will Never ever EVER obtain anything Rosewell once more in my life! Dont bother responding Rosewill evaluation stalker....your thoughts and sorrys are worthless unless you strategy to replace my drive!!

unknown Unit came with enclosure so tightly fastened to the base that it was impossible to get rid of without having stripping the screw heads. I managed to get 1 screw loose but the other was unmovable, rendering the unit useless. ฤ down the drain. It worked wonderful, easy and basic set up and my pc identified it instantaneously upon plugging it in and got it operating inside a handful of seconds. Keywords and phrases there in the "Pros:" sections, is that it "worked." It did function, but not any longer. It's sat on my desk in 1 spot subsequent to my computer for about two months now with it only getting turned on and off about 15 times. Now when I flip it on, it just sits there. No challenging drive activity, nothing at all comes up on my computer. It just sits there blinking its blue LED at me, laughing. For ฤ I guess I shouldn't have expected a lot, but it's nonetheless irritating that I have to get yet another one.

This is a incredibly sturdy enclosure. The drive is secured to the case extremely well and it will allow heat to dissipate in to the aluminum enclosure. The enclosure does get warm but that implies it is undertaking it's job by moving heat away from the drive. The USB and power connections appear like they will hold up nicely. The power switch is a tiny flimsy but I don't use it much and if it breaks it's not hard to bypass. This enclosure has substantially much better construct excellent than name-brand enclosures that cost significantly far more. I'm ordering an additional 1 now :-)

Haveing an external drive is fantastic. and an interchangeable 1 even superior. This alows me to save information and take it with me for use on a different technique. The IDE connections in this unit alow me to use older IDE harddrives on newer SATA systems. dont have any that i can feel of. rhink i mentioned it all in my pros

Excellent looking case. Easy to open(with a philips screwdriver). A small noisy, but for the value I guess you can't ask for the planet. None so far. No fan(s), no other sort of connectors except for USB two., little noisy. Wish it would have been a toolless style, but I guess it wouldn've been this affordable.

Functions straight out of the box. Drop in an IDE drive, screw it closed, and plug it into a USB 2. port. It just functions nicely. Looks excellent The internal molex connector for the drive sticks out a bit wide. Sort of difficult to screw together the complete thing, simply because it looks like you'll break off a thing. The molex connector could have been narrower, or grind off one side that hits the drive cage mounting bracket. Dropped one egg simply because of this molex connector. Excellent for taking an old IDE drive out of a pc you no longer use, and make it an external drive for newer stuff. I'm utilizing a Western Digital 500 GB IDE drive in it.

Uncomplicated setup: two screwsets mount the drive to the case in a stable manner, 1 set locks the case front down. Looks fairly nice, comes with a padded U bracket for vertical setup. Not too much to foul up here. For a passive enclosure, it appears a bit loud when the dive is running -- may well be the outcome of mounting the drive directly to the enclosure? As other people have mentioned: horribly big wall wart and dim LED. Have to be a little cautious when dropping the drive into teh case Not a bad box for the value point.
