It's excellent for the cost. You get a cable with a 1. & two. USB options (you can use the 1. solution for energy). The situation is excellent for the cost. The USB cable fits in the case. I use it to shop diag. utilities. The screws are tiny and will strip out effortlessly. You get an added pair, just in case. When you install the drive be sure to press and hold side of the case so the drive fit's in tightly and line up the holes. Even if you have fantastic sight you may well require a magnifying glass. There is a foam cushion in the case that will make it a tight fit. The cushion is a shock absorber.

Quiet, cool, effortless on the wallet, very good sync to USB access is at excellent speed Took a tiny giggling to get the drive to fit just so. the screws also were a touch off but tightening them straightened that out and no damage has occurred to drive as far as I see. I use this for the 80gb i took out of my HP-dv6000 series lappy. tends to make for effortless transport backup and even a whole system to take with me. The 6 bucks added over the inexpensive enclosures was effectively worth it.

No complications yet. I used with my preceding PS3's HDD and I was able to quickly use it on my pc and format to NTSC. Screws a tiny tiny, but not a difficulty if you are cautious when using the tiny screwdriver.

I have by no means gone wrong with Rosewill. Fantastic worth, good price tag. Solidly constructed enclosure, great wiring/cabling. Built up for my college daughter and have no fears that it will work properly for her. none

Quite solid construction. Good transfer speed. It did smell poor coming out of the box and that activity light is bright. I didn't have a dilemma with the mounting screws. Relating to the double USB plug, the USB standard maximum is 500 mA at 5V and most challenging drives are just over that threshold. Most ports however, will supply about twice that existing, just FYI.

Not also significantly to say. Price was ideal and free of charge shipping. Bought this for a spare 120 GB Fujitsu laptop drive I had. Assembly took less than five mins., plugged it into XP and recognized quickly. Had a spare USB external drive in the time it took to format. None As generally, Newegg service rocks! Ordered Sunday night, had it Tuesday by 10 AM.

It works as advertised, easy setup. Can use double usb cable to power the difficult driver or AC adapter (not included even though). It does include a nice small carrying situation. The included usb cord is rather short. Not designed for rapid swaping of internal tricky drives because you would have to unscrew this enclosure to switch drives inside. I broke my laptop but necessary to get all the files that were stored on the hard drive. So this was the excellent solution. I put in the old difficult drive, plugged it into my Ubuntu Linux desktop and it worked like a charm. Quickly transfer rates, and now that I'm carried out receiving all the files off of it, I now have a good external usb hard drive.

Metal housing, contains storage situation, usb y adapter for use with older usb 1.1. enclosure has a dc jack for powering the drive but no info is incuded on what adapter to use with it. I received two added screws with mine. Hopefully yours will come with extras two because I lost two of mine placing it with each other.

Quite sturdy case. Effortless to assemble. Came with added screws! Performs incredibly very good. Fantastic value. Good soft case holds the drive and cable. Instructions are a bit vague, but could be assembled by a blind monkey so not really a big con. I purchased this to put my old laptop drive in immediately after an upgrade. Great case at a quite low price. Like a lot of self powered two.5" situations this a single uses 2 USB ports. Thanks again Newegg!

Sleek and great searching case. I slipped in my hard drive, and started out to screw it in, when portion of the screw driver the sent me snapped! I did not apply significantly pressure to it either, which in turn, striped my screw out totally... I had to go get a new screw driver to screw the thing in. (Thank gosh it came with an extra screw...)Soon after that, I go to plug it in, and its operating excellent. ...For about two minutes. Then it stops reading the drive and I am finding errors up the wazoo. Come to discover out, the cord the sent me is faulty. I tried my brothers cord that came with his Vantec enclosure and it worked perfectly.So now I am in the method of receiving a replacement cord, and Rosewill is taking their sweet time to reply... I have bought a Rosewill modem before and it worked excellent, so I automatically set the name Rosewill with quality. Boy was I incorrect... I guess their just a different company cutting expenses wherever they can, so the CEO can line his pockets with dollars...I don't suggest this item to any individual, and now I know better then to obtain a Rosewill item...

They have nice music playing when you are left on hold. Missing Screws. My enclosure was sent without a essential set of two screws, that are needed to secure the ends of the enclosure. I called Rosewills client help and explained my challenge thinking they would ship me the screws. Instead I was told a tech would contact me back within an hour relating to the circumstance. About an hour later, a Rosewill tech did indeed call. He informed me that I would have to contact Newegg for a replacement enclosure. So considering that he would not send me the two tiny screws, that would fit into a typical envelope, I will have to get a RA# from Newegg and ship the complete enclosure back to them, presumably at my expense. What poor customer service. I will not use Rosewill goods in the future.

- Value for positive.- The good quality and ease of installation is wonderful. Some folks mentioned difficulties with the screws and the screwdriver, but I had no actual issues. Not super high top quality for sure, but good enough.- Employed this to save an old external difficult drive where the case had died, ripped it out and plugged it in to a single of these and worked perfectly. - Nothing seriously. You can gripe about the low excellent of the included screw driver if you seriously want, but hey, it's sort of a one particular-time use issue. Seems perfect for what it is.

Under no circumstances had a problem with it. Eveyrthing fits adequately, runs excellent, fantastic transfer speeds. Comes with dual male usb plug. this is since some earlier computers and some laptops only have low output USB ports. Any modern laptop or computer will have only high power USB ports and you'll only need to have to use the thicker plug. none I have identified Not incredibly generally the cheapest one you come across is the greatest value, but this is it.

It was affordable, and almost certainly the least expensive I've observed with cost-free shipping. It was a snap to install my drive (the replaced drive from a Macbook Pro upgrade). There was no need to format my drive as they urge you to do. The case is big sufficient to hold almost everything (and a bit far more), but modest sufficient to fit very easily into a laptop carry case. There is a plastic sheet included that states you will need to format the drive just before you can use it. That's truly a bit silly, given that technically speaking there's never ever been a reason to do that with basic enclosures like this. It's almost certainly just a safeguard for Rosewill against individuals trying to use a Mac, Linux or FAT (PC) formatted drive on the opposite OS and calling them up to complain that it's not being recognized. Nonetheless, it's annoying, and it'll probably fool some individuals. As an individual else mentioned, the case is a bit plain. It's not necessarily ugly, just easy. The screws are super tiny, but assuming you won't be swapping out drives too regularly and you're careful ... you probably won't strip them. All in all, a great case for the income. I'd buy it once more.
