Functions as advertised. Packaging is sufficient. Good worth. Smells HORRIBLE! Smells like insect spray. I have left it to air out and I can not get rid of the smell. The carry case that comes with it had to be put in the garage mainly because of the smell. I may possibly by no means be in a position to use it. The metal case is getting a tiny better but immediately after a week i can still smell it fairly strong. If I can't get rid of the smell I will RMA this factor.

Had this for a handful of months now immediately after upgrading my ps3 hd. I threw in my old ps3 hard drive in here and it works terrific. It has a sturdy create, a tight even fit. It also has a blue light, while real vibrant, has a nice look to it. none

Functions just as described. The HD fits in there snugly and great. Ideal factor is that you can switch out a HD anytime you want! Why would you get an external HD???? Just purchase a Laptop HD and get an enclosure for it and save some money! None so far Put my 120 GB Macbook Pro HD in it, worked proper away with no formatting. Awesome!

Smaller decent excellent materials. Did not come full of dollars. There are fancier ones out there and more affordable ones. I think this is a great excellent middle of the road.

I purchased the IDE version of this and needed a SATA one also so I took the plunge. This 1 is a lot much better than the IDE version, but that may well be mainly because of the difficult drive thats in it. None Purchased this to use my 120GB PS3 difficult drive that I upgraded to 320GB.

Quite nice case, feels solid. Superior fit and finish. Included a tiny screwdriver, which was a good extra. Minimal directions but straightforward and speedy to assemble. Smaller screws simple to misplace. Recommend assembling unit on a large table where dropped screws would not be lost. Excellent way to recycle an older tough drive as a information backup for very little cash.

Initial, one assessment says the leather case wont fit both the drive and the cord, incorrect. The leather case fits both with a little space to spare (and he said his tech level is high, tshhh). read/write speeds are fine. Recognizes my seagate 500gb drive. Looks good. what a lot more do you want for the cost? It has a place for a energy supply to plug in but no information where to get it or what voltage it uses. With the provided USB cord the difficult drive is in energy saving mode, I'd like to be in a position to use it with a energy supply when it's here at my property.

-Very nice seeking enclosure compared to others I have.-Came with a faux leather case to put it in.-Appears quite sturdy also it has padding on the bottom of the inside of the case for your drive. The only con that I have is that it was too little for my Macbook's original challenging drive to fit in it, though I didn't knock it simply because that was more an error on my part for not checking the specs of it. The Macbook I have is a Late ང Aluminum Unibody type.

Solid and nicely made. The fit and finish on this enclosure is superb. It feels and looks like a high quality enclosure. The only con I can think of is the light is a little too major and bright. But that's pretty minor. Some may in fact like the bright blue light. I have 4 various external enclosures besides this 1, and this Rosewill model has got to be 1 of the most solid and nicest looking. The aluminum casing is so solid and nicely finished in the brushed black. I employed this to property a 320gb Western Digital drive that I pulled out of a Passport enclosure that was giving me USB problems. The drive functions perfectly in this enclosure.A prior reviewer stated that he could not get NTFS to function with this enclosure but I have no concerns at all. My Western Digital 320gb drive is formatted in NTFS. And all my other smaller capacity drives ྯgb and up) that I have in other external enclosures are all formatted in NTFS. So he must have been performing some thing wrong. The enclosure operates fine with NTFS.

* Price* Total kit* Works as advertised None so far. I 1st tried to format the drive on my VISTA based notebook. It complained that the disk wasn't initialized.Then attempted it on my XP Pro notebook and had no problems formatting the drive.

This led to my son plugging in a 5V 2.5amp wall plug into it, which fried the drive inside.

Appreciate how it is extremely smaller and the case can hold the wires too. The smaller screws were a bit tricky to install like others have mentioned. Just make sure you apply pressure on the leading portion and make sure screw goes in straight. If not, it will most likely strip the hole.

-quiet-compact-only demands 1 USB -No ventilation-Can get a little warm With my 250GB Hitachi two.five", only 1 of the two USB plugs requirements to be applied. It has two for bigger and/or additional power consuming drives, but for this and my 640GB Samsung, only 1 is needed.

Works out of the box, sleek case, good blue light. Enclosed screw holes tough to thread initially, USB Y-Cable. This is a great small case. The pros are self-explanatory. To explain the cons: when sliding the drive back into the case, the tray holding the drive is secured to the case with two included screws. I located these tough to thread since the hole was "too new". Solved the dilemma by removing the tray and just threading the screws with some gentle force without having the drive or case attached. The Y-cable is annoying (minor). Would be rate a 5 except for the screw problem.

works excellent an quite simple to use correct out of the box... Some people today say it is uncomplicated to break it, but I believe it was design to be light weight and simple to carry about- I recommend this product!

It's tiny and it works just fine and it also supports up toa 500gb hard Drive. I don't comprehend why someone would style something where the difficult drive is upside down. By no means observed 1 in a laptop that was upside down either. If you have the blue light facing upward then the challenging drive is in fact upside down. I would have prefered that the tough be in the right position as it is in the laptops. Perhaps Rosewill will clarify why the hard drive is upside down when the blue light is facing upward.

My PS3 overheated, so i purchased this to turn the challenging drive into an external for private use. It comes with every thing you need, including detailed instructions on formatting the drive if it's new to you. Tough drive fits tight and barely makes a sound. Transfered 30 gigs into it right away and it stayed cool the entire time. None. Make certain you press firm when screwing the drive in... the screwdriver isn't specifically leading good quality.

1st off, I did buy this, but got sent the IDE version by accident...but NE tightened me up immediately. Good customer service.It runs on only the one USB cable in my laptop, but you get a "Y" USB splitter anyway.Really slick searching...cool small case...with a snap closure. None, not even one small one.Oh, come on...there has to be something bad about it? OK, it is a fingerprint magnet. Major deal. So simple a chimp could assemble it...I know...I did.

Incredibly compact enclosure. Drive fits snuggly inside. Stays really cool. The screwdriver that comes with the case is really low-cost and is easily stripped. Had to use a pair of pliers that tighten the screws onto the case. Doesn't bother me because I will be swapping drives a lot so this makes it uncomplicated to open the case. I am very happy with the enclosure and would undoubtedly acquire a lot more if I need to have any.

I just noticed the cost went up by ŭ.00 so I bought it at the proper time.I advise you buy one if you want a portable two.five" driveAt the moment using WD 60g drive.

Cheap inexpensive cheap. Probably one of the finest possibilities for the price range. Its made out of aluminum which is good! The case it comes with is major enough for the case and cable. It does have a nice appear as effectively. Plugged in the formatted drive and the os(vista) recognized it right away...Utilized a 160gb wd blue 5400rpm drive. The screws that set it in spot are small. Quite straightforward to strip and the resistance from sliding in the drive feels too a lot for the size of screws that sets it. Cost and no cost S&H I have an older 200GB 4200RPM drive that was removed from my laptop and replaced with a WD 320GB 7200RPM SATA drive (from Newegg). Terrific now I have an awesome size external drive. When I purchased the 320GB I also got an external case, but the drive ended up becoming too thick, 12.5mm (.49"). Then I saw this case was .62" thick, over .12" thicker, fantastic, it will fit. NOT!!!! The .62" is counting for the bulge around the button. If you have a thicker SATA drive make sure you check into the size of the case. I will request Newegg to add information per the thickness of a tough drive a case will accept.
