Came in two days :)I got two of these in crossfire and both ran appropriate out of the box. Set up drivers truly quick and crossfire was currently configured and running as it really should. Haven't done the bios flash yet, nonetheless, I don't believe that I want it for now. I can run battlefield bc2 on 1680x1050 on almost everything maxed out and still get about 50-70 FPS. The value. It's a lot of funds. You could get a low spending budget gaming rig for two of these. About an hour ago I wanted to start out BFBC2 and it said that the driver stopped operating but that it recovered. Then my pc froze and - bluescreen.

Easily handles something I can throw at it with ease and in no way gets hotter than 157 degrees farenheit. I used to hate single fan GPU's but this a single is bringing me back and for the price tag it's nigh on unbeatable for the energy. Some graphical artifacts when watching 1080p movies.

Card is blisteringly rapid and runs reasonably quiet and cool (ㆃ C @ load, as cool as a card this high-end will get) The card is massive. Make positive you have at least a mid-tower just before you look at installing - and even then it may be a struggle.

I upgraded from a Sapphire HD 5850 mainly because they're discontinued, so I couldn't get a second card to have CrossfireX, and I needed some a lot more computing energy on the graphics side. I went and purchased two of these, and I can run any present game I want at 1920x1200 at max settings, no challenge. Crysis, Metro 2033, all Supreme Commander games, you name it, these cards consume them for lunch. In non combat conditions, my frame rate will max out at 60 (and I'm not doing substantially overclocking). Runs hot hot hot hot hot. Manual fan handle sucks, it'll let the card go over 90 degrees C and leave fans spinning at 33%. At something above 50% speed, these fans sound like a jet taking off. I've ordered three PCI fans and Arctic Silver thermal paste to assist cool these cards down. I have two other minor troubles. 1, text in game seems to be significantly smaller sized and tough to read. Also, I plan with Arduino software program, and it can't render that at all. If crossfirex is on, I have to switch it off, and vice versa. Otherwise the text is not readable, and the menus, which ought to be rectangular, end up seeking like blobs. I also unlocked these cards to 6970. As lengthy as you don't max out the memory speeds to 1425 MHz on Catalyst Control Center, it functions flawlessly. If you're pondering about upgrading, make positive to either find a card that comes with a fantastic stock fan and heatsink setup, or wait until following industry coolers are created that say they perform on these cards.

Really strong video card: with mild overclocking I can crash Passmark 7 ࿠ bit) - I guess they by no means anticipated 9999.88fps in their tests! Quiet: I've got two in crossfire and can barely hear them throughout typical use. Not as energy-hungry as other high-end cards. EyeFinity rocks! Very extended card (though I did handle to shoehorn two of these cards into a Silverstone SG04B-F matx case with out as well substantially trouble). Extremely heavy! If you program on transporting your computer system anyplace you must eliminate this card to stay away from motherboard harm - 1 good jolt and it could rip the pcie slot proper off the motherboard... I'm running two in crossfire and can run any game at total settings with a problem. Haven't seen a need to have to flash the bios to 6970.

Anything. Does precisely what I was expecting, and that is to dominate any game out proper now. Fast flash bios is like an instant 60 dollar rebate in itself. Its refreshing to max out settings on in essence something I want. Destroys two crossfire 5770 cards. 3Dmark06 in the 22000 range, no overclock, incredible. fan is loud, as already talked about. If your messing with bios, its easy to get discouraged at initially if there is a problem. Just test both kinds out.񣖦 unlock and 6970) see which is additional stable) All cards are not constructed equal. 6970 bios was more stable for me. I had artifacts with the unlock shades only. (Do that at your personal threat of program) and run pressure tests. If you have the money, get it. ideal deal out proper now.

-Fantastic upgrade decision for individuals like me who's got a Core2Duo era rig Ɣ+ years ago)-Unlockable shaders, but don't just flash 6970's bios. Use RBE to make a modded bios from the original, flash it, and use TriXX to raise the clocks. Do it at your own threat even though... -Lengthy and hefty card, a small more than an inch longer than my preceding 8800GTS card, but I guess my earlier investment in a coolermaster cosmos total tower case is paying off now I had in my rig an E6750, 8800GTX 512, 4GB DDR2 Ram. I was entirely hesitant to just get this card, as I thought the rest of the method might just be as well outdated to retain up. Well, I still gave it a attempt due to the fantastic price tag and feedback, and I'm not disappointed at all. Observed key performance enhance from 8800GTX 512 to this beast. I could play Crysis/BFBC2/ME2/SC2/... in max settings (except for AA) at 1920x1080 quite smoothly. So, if you got a method like mine, I'd say go ahead and get this card initial in case you are not prepared for a total program upgrade. The CPU/Mem won't actually bottleneck your gaming efficiency that badly.

Extremely powerfull card, I upgraded from a GTX260 and the distinction was like evening and day, runs all of my games on ultra setting. This card runs very HOT!!! what was supposed to be a uncomplicated upgrade for me turned into a nightmare, these cards run so hot all my temps had been particularly higher and to make points worst I have 2 of these cards, I had to order a new case Cosmos HAF to help reduce my temps on my MB and NB, if I had known this card would bring about so considerably overheating I wouldn't have bought it, so make confident you have a large tower with a lot of airflow just before acquiring this card. Think about purchasing aftermarket cooler.

This card is really rapidly, I run all my games at 1440x900 and this card runs them all on max settings with completely no slowdown. The card is large; I underestimated how major it was and had to get rid of one particular of my challenging drives to get it to fit. I would advise obtaining a complete tower case if you’re getting one particular of these. You can effortlessly flash the BIOS to turn this card into a 6970, but I haven’t tried it however myself. Installs very simply. Flashed the bios to 6970 and that was really quickly performed - practically no threat at all and a significant performance acquire. Did have some drive configuration issues - particularly with CCC. Even so, I was in a position to get the most current drives and following a bit of tinkering, got the card operating correctly. card I bought the 6950 to conserve a bit of dollars knowing well I had the intention of flashing the bios to the 6970 for efficiency raise. That course of action was quite effortless and I did start to notice a overall performance boost.

Fantastic card at a great value. I purchased the Sapphire 6950 since of the other products packaged along with the card. Very easily flashed to a modded 6950 bios to enable the added shaders. Size. It's a long card, but that is the trend in video cards in general. My old 4850 was somewhat lengthy, but this is longer and takes up two slots. It's not actually a huge deal and I won't minimize eggs for it, mainly because I knew the size prior to I bought. Newegg got it to me swift.

Handles almost everything I've thrown at it devoid of problem on 73" Mitsu DLP Tv so far. Comparatively low energy use, and consequently heat creation for its capabilities. So massive I had to scrape it in, and rearrange SATA wires. Due to its size, it creates a heat box on the south side of the mobo. Will have to be creative when I add another 6950. Could want a creative fan solution for it. x6 1090, crossfire IV mobo, 2x4gb gskill 7-7-7-21 memory, 1tb WD tough drive 64 cache, sata 6. enormous sythe cpu fan, ten situation fans, cougar 1000w PSU, Liteon 3D Bluray burner. Every little thing worked, no aspect failures. Will add yet another 6950 next year, SSD, and yet another 8gb. Good job Newegg! two total builds now, and no parts required return-yet

If you install this in a mid-tower, you may want to measure your readily available space. Mine installed with Really little room to spare amongst the card and the drive bay. Had to re-arrange some cabling to squeeze it in.I haven't tried any of the bios mods mentioned in other testimonials. Haven't seen a require to.

This card is a beast--make confident you have an equally high end CPU, or you may bottleneck this gfx card's beast efficiency and not see its full potential. Fan is loud but it cools the card effectively, so cannot place it in cons, but rather, a heads up! Unlocks to 6970 specs and remains stable. None. Make confident you have a huge situation or you could run into problems with getting enough room for this monster. FYI, although you can flash this card with a 6970 BIOS, hold in mind it _does_ have various memory modules so the 6970 memory timings can 񣖺 has different memory timings), and most most likely at some point will, harm the hardware due to the timing differences in the 6970 ROM; as an alternative, use the Trixx utility to overclock to 6970 clocks, and modify the official 6950 ROM so that it has unlocked shaders :) This will get you to the 6970 specs, but devoid of some of the dangers of running a diverse BIOS :) I have had zero stability problems and the card runs in the low 50s C beneath load.

It's a beast. I can run most something on maximum settings at 2560 x 1600. Honestly newer games run a tad better at 1920 x 1200, but eh. This card smokes something I've ever owned. I'm pleased. Even comes with an overclocking tool constructed into the driver software. Nonetheless rock solid at max settings. Size of card: Massive. I had to remove an internal (and possibly redundant/unnecessary) case fan just to fit this monster, and it sits proper over 4 out of 5 of my SATA ports, although I managed to run the cables with out much of a headache by undertaking them prior to inserting this factor. Newegg, ol' boy, perhaps you should start out asking manufacturers for DIMENSIONS of video cards and posting them in the specifics. This not only is in all probability the maximum length that would possibly fit in my case, but it also blocks one particular of the little PCI slots. No biggie. Just used the other one particular, but I recommend you beware if you're performing crossfire, as you may well not be in a position to use your wireless network card, for instance, if it wants one particular of the blocked slots..Also, look at that AMD/ATI does not at present help PhysX which seems in a handful of titles, but if it's that One particular game you enjoy, it may possibly matter. That, and you can't find standalone PhysX cards easily these days due to the fact Nvidia purchased Physx.
