Comments: Seems to do the job alright. Only minor complaint is that the connector is not keyed, make confident the pin 1 places line up. Newegg shipping was wonderful as usual.

Its a excellent item, for a niche marketplace Didnt function for what i wanted, was to use it as a readyboost drive with a rapid CFOnly recognized some thing like two.6gb of the 4gb flash drive in windows, when utilised only as a slave drive to SATA masters I wanted to use this as a drive for readyboost, i got a 233x speed CF card to do it with, but it would not allow me to because it would only read as a HDD, it also only posted 2.66 gb or so out of the 4gb cardalso, dont expect this to fit in some smaller (micro/mini) instances, i got a Rosewill R-379m and the DVD burner JUST overhangs sufficient to be over the slot for IDEMight be a tight fit into a 2u server rack, WILL NOT work in a 1u server rack

Low-cost, works, uncomplicated. Might be slow, while this is not an problem for me. I employed this to make a bootable IDE drive for FreeNAS from a spare 48MB CF card I had laying about. No BIOS modifications, no issues, I merely plugged the card into device, plugged in the floppy header power connector, and plugged it into the IDE connector. Worked perfectly.

I applied this CF adapter although setting up a house built NAS (network attached storage) utilizing the open source program FreeNAS. I needed a small cheap drive to boot to and this adapter was the perfect answer. It puts out extremely little heat, uses quite small power, makes no noise, and the cost was fantastic. None

It is inexpensive, support up to PIO4 and uncomplicated. There are some wiring challenge on this card that makes the MB think the CF support UDMA, then fail the UDMA access and fall back to PIO mode. We have tried that in the lab and it works soon after some wiring modifications. Get some thing that works and stay away from this, unless you only care about PIO mode. Manufacturer Response:Dear Consumer,This device has all the circuits printed on the PCB board, there is no wiring involved. You require a Compact Flash card that is UDMA enabled, please check with your CF card manufacturer if your memory card has this feature. All of our items come with at least 3 years warranty. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with us at support-us@syba.com if you have any issue or question.Regards,Syba Consumer Service

It is the perfect answer for a NAS. I use it in my NAS for the OS to run off of. It is a snap to install and works without having a hitch. Fits directly into the IDE slot. And it even utilizes a floppy connector so it won't take up a molex plug. Affordable. None.

works fantastic with 8gb transcend card! cheap, utilizes very little power, and i didn't require to change any jumpers on the adapter. had to change a setting inside the bios in order to get the motherboard to boot from the card appropriately. the factor is slow, but works pick your operating system wisely.....windows xp is slow running from the compact flash card. my motherboard says the device is ide 66 drive which is really slow. i may possibly install a flavor of linux on it instead

Works with no dilemma. NONE Installed this with a 16MB CF card, in a P3 733MHz, with 512MB PC-133 ram for a Monowall router. It has been up and running for over two years with completely no difficulties.

Fits snugly into IDE slot on motherboard. No tinkering required. XP installed and booted with no complications. None Inserted a 4GB Ridata 233x Lightning Series CF card from Newegg. XP saw the card's FAT32 partition during install; I reformatted to NTFS. XP loaded faster than I expected.
