It was picked up by my motherboard... Total GARBAGE! I did not recieve a SYBA card i recieved a IOCREST. The drivers that came with the card you have to navigate by means of the disk and come across the right set. JungleFlasher, Iprep and Xtreme bootmaker choose up the card but they don't choose up my ms28. Ive spent a excellent 3 days of trial and error attempting to get this card to detect my ms28. IOCREST has no buyer service as nicely. Overall i would Never ever advise this card to any person.

Works very properly with two Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s three.5" Internal Tough Drives. I have them in a custom develop with 4 gigs of ram and a core 2 quad @ 2.66ghz. Before I installed this in this custom make, had in a nas server working with mirroring. Worked really properly. Then moved to this custom build and my windows vista rating went from 5.9 in all except tough drive, which was a 4. to five.9 in all of vistas Windows Experience Index. Operates quite well, has under no circumstances failed and been in pretty a lot constant use for pretty much a year. For some cause, almost certainly mobo incompatibility, it will hang at the bios screen (where it says press tab to edit configuration). I have to reset my computer system generally only as soon as and it will boot just fine, but I have had to reset it numerous occasions in one boot to get it to function. Worked completely when flashing the ms28 drive with xtreme 5.three. I applied a bootable floppy to do it. It doesnt work properly with mtkflash. I utilized SAMREAD and SAMHACK. An external sata would be good. so then i wouldnt have to open up the pc case from the side just to flash the ms28 drive/

Worked as it really should. Haven't gotten to attempt it's RAID functionality, but appear forward to carrying out so.SATA = SPEED! Didn't operate with my Xbox360's Hitachi 46d, wouldn't boot to Windows whilst attached.

cheap solution for mirror RAID for information you don't want to ever loose. PATA slot bonus! Functions great with my old DVD-ROM. Now I don't have to use my RW to read CDs, DVDs, and movies! Restricted by PCI speed so if you are looking for a striped RAID resolution for speed then appear elsewhere. I use this with two 160gig SATA drives that are mirrored. It's for my MP3s and information files I'd be quite upset to loose if 1 drive failed. Speed wasn't seriously a reason for this purchase.

Comments: My aim was to have a huge storage drive. I had two 160GB SATA drives and one particular 160GB IDE drive. This RAID card suggests that you can only stripe the two SATA drives together. Nicely, I connected all three drives and installed the driver and Windows RAID utility. The system gave me the choice of adding all 3 drives to the RAID so I did. I rebooted and the controller showed up as "couldn't commence" in device manager. So I deleted it and rebooted. Worked fine and all three drives were in the RAID! Haven't had a issue considering that. Couldn't ask much more for the cost.

The card operates fantastic for me each below Vista and XP Skilled. Worked for flashing a MS25. None so far. The Syba help internet site by no means appears to perform so don't shed the driver CD.

I left one more critique in May 07. The card nevertheless works, no troubles whatsoever with the data. Nonetheless, it makes a buzz noise everytime it writes or reads something from the drive. It drove me nuts and I believed it was the drive or the fans. I got a new case that separates the drives from the rest of the components and you can clearly hear this card generating the buzz noise... Even although the card performs properly, I am a bit dissapointed of the noise and I am searching now for a replacement.

This raid card is Wonderful. Our IT department only utilizes Adaptec RAID cards in all our servers. I purchased two of these to test out. They are rapidly and easy to setup. Setup is a little various. Since the card has no bios, you have to se it up with the computer software following installing windows. As soon as you install it although each the mirror and striping functions perform Good. For the price, this is the best raid resolution on the market place for workstations and low finish storage servers.

Does just what it says it will do. Ordered a couple of these since challenging drives no longer come with them. Figured that it was greater to be safe that sorry!!! NONE Cord is quite long, but then most of them are.

Works excellent for flashing the 360. I would have liked to use this to add SATA functionality to my file server, but I was unable to get the technique to boot from this device. The card's BIOS isn't extremely excellent or just doesn't integrate nicely with my method BIOS. So this is generally a paperweight until it's time to flash the 360 once again. There is a tutorial out there which explains how to add a module into your BIOS to allow booting SATA from this device, but my BIOS is OEM with limited/locked configuration. I also failed at modifying my BIOS image since for some reason the BIOS image I have for my MB is a .rom rather of a .bin, and the software refused to open it.

It works fine. I have owned one for more than a year. They aren't fancy but they operate. I have a Seagate 1.5TB drive hooked to it suitable now and running under fedora core 8. It makes use of sata_by way of module. It has a limitation of 1.5 Gbps rather of 3. SATA Worked with no special configuration on fresh install of ubuntu 8.10 x86, Just click drive in nautilus to mount it. Have not tested advanced capabilities of card, like RAID, but I envision they would function. Best for what I required it for. Adding SATA to an older PIII fileserver.

Inexpensive Could not get the driver to operate on XP. Documentation is quasi useless. You seriously do get what you pay for. This card is fantastic for any one seeking to flash a ms25 tosh/sammy....simple install worked appropriate out of the box for me...get this if your flashing tosiba dvd drive. the only con is there are no sata port on the back there both internal oh well quite cheap!!!
