Good for adding SATA to boards with only IDE or buggy onboard SATA. No challenge installing. Stable. Rapidly (for SATA150). Superb price!! NO Data CORRUPTION!!!!!Works flawlessly if you are not working with it to boot your method (see below).IDE port works fine for CD/DVD. Have not utilised RAID. (Contrary to a lot of critiques, this card does boot a single drive.) Each and every time I cold-boot, the BIOS quits and Windows won't boot. I think it is an IRQ conflict (I will maintain you posted on that). You can not unhook a bootable SATA drive from one more controller and plug into this one and boot your program. You must re-install Windows and use the driver on floppy disk (push F6...), and set motherboard BIOS to boot SCSI.Can not use IDE port till Windows is installed. Too negative most men and women acquire this card, flash their Xbox, then use it for a paperweight. This card is greater than any in its cost range, and even some additional costly.

I utilised this to flash my Xbox 360's Samsung MS28 dvd drive. Windows 7 64-bit. No troubles. No cons I can believe of. Worked for what I needed it to.

Easy install, and the software that came with it was essentially useful. This is probably my fault but there was some severe conflict with the RAID on my motherboard. Ultimately right after sufficient restarts they decided to perform together

Does the job for those searching for a Via card to compliment their 360 DVD drives. Worked nicely with my LiteOn and Samsung drives. Not much use for these cards anymore. 1 of the least expensive 360 flash chipsets for ms28 drives. $xx for a flashed box and a SATA set-up for an old mobo is a steal! Use the front SATA port for flashing, as the back one is not recognized by XBM.

correct pci card. Installs just fine. The card itself is properly created troubles and operates like a champ. Exceptional hard drive efficiency scores off it. Triggered 1 conflict in my ABIT. The Via onboard chipset lost my USB logitech mouse when I installed this card. This is due to a routing issue in the driver pack for the Hyperion 5.04. The fix is simple just set the bios USB settings to USB bios emulation. This instantly corrects the concerns. Might sound silly but it's just a conflict that is very easily solved.

worked for flashing my 360 cant get drivers to work for reading something inside windows but at least it worked for what i purchased it for. would in no way go with a pci card for raid either use onboard or get a actual raid setup

When it worked, it worked nicely. The card itself was built improperly, the bracket was too massive for 3 circumstances that I tried it in, so the card did not seat effectively. I was able to fix this on my own, but I shouldn't have to.The card also appears to opt for when it wants to work and for no apparent reason.You get certainly get what you pay for with this card. I believe that the excellent control for this company is horrible. Invest a small bit additional and get a quality card, the additional couple bucks you save with this one isn't worth the hassles you may possibly encounter. This of course is just my 2 cents. If you wish to try your luck with this card go for it, but just know that you've been warned.

I am working with it for one sata drive to backup the two raid drives running on the motherboard's satas. The setup was clean and painless. This has the finest written manual I've ever observed. Not kidding, I was pleasantly surprised. None The software program complements well the hardware. No complaints. Very good device. Haven't tried the RAID on it but, but the single drive setup works fine.

almost everything is pretty straight forward when employing xtreme boot maker. for refrence i have an ms28. do not use the sata port closest to the metal outside casing for 360 flashing as the dos program does not recognize it. i thought raid would mess this up for 360 flashing, but its just as great if not far better than non-raid

Cheap. Reliable. Decent throughput. Have to use the boot-time / BIOS-level tool to make & manage the RAID array... the XP-version RAID software program that is accessible would cause my boot to hang. Wonderful little card for the cash... it's working plenty fast for me with two 500 GB Samsung difficult drives in RAID 1. I'm not booting from the array -- have the OS and system files on a diverse drive. I'm happy with it. Other reviews say it's only use for XBOX cloning, or some such factor, but I believe it's a legit piece of hardware for actual normal RAID use.

Straightforward to install "hardware" wise into the PCI. Whoopie. Read my CONS on this card. Installed the VIA driver as instructed. Rebooted the program and received Device unable to begin error on WIN XP SP2. Re-installed driver, card into a diverse PCI slot, and O/S once more and the very same error came up. RMA this card and purchased a distinct SATA controller card (Can't say which one). Works fantastic and no issues. Return was easy with NewEgg.com. Thanks NewEgg.com.

I was hesitant to buy this card mainly because of some of the reviews, but I'm glad I did. Newegg shipping was extraordinary--I had the card in my hand much less than 24 hours after I ordered it. I installed it and it worked like a charm. I have connected a 200 Gb SATA drive and an 80 Gb EIDE drive with a SATA-to-EIDE converter, and each function excellent. I haven't employed the RAID or the IDE connector, but I will be surprised if they give me any trouble. The manual is 37 pages, all in English, and quite thorough. Soon after installing the windows drivers, I got a message that the installation had failed. But immediately after I rebooted, the card was recognized and worked just fine. My BIOS wanted to boot from the drives connected to the card, so be certain you check the BIOS settings and make positive the proper boot drive is selected soon after you install this card.

Price Can't recognize 1.5TB drives. It will see the drives are plugged into it, but it can't boot off them. I ended up having to plug the drives back into the motherboard and just set up software program RAID for now.

None Haven't got it to recognize any drives I have connected to it. I cannot uncover any on line technical support or info of any type to assist me figure it out. Most likely will end up in the trash.

This worked wonderful for me. Needed a sata controller for my system and this fit the bill. I was able to plug in my 160gb sata drive and load the OS with no problems. Employing Kubuntu Linux and it is a lot faster then the onboard ide controller. Doesn't light up the difficult drive light on the case. Not a big deal and knew that going in. I was skeptical if this would function for the cost. I am satisfied that this worked so nicely. Does specifically as advertised!!!

Very good card for the price when bought on sale. Needed one of this to set up additional drives in a home made NAS box. Easy installation. Didn't try the Raid function since I don't intend to use it.
