This is fully the most poorly manufactured product I have ever experienced. There is not sufficient room to fit the drive unless you remove whatever connections you aren't using. Very poorly soldered, just flimsy in general.

The case is not very solid. The sides fall off very easy. The extra cables just seem to get in the way. I liked the other sabrent cases that I got with just the internal sata cable.

Great enclosure! Not too sure what other reviewers had difficulty with. Came with 2 extra thumbscrews for mounting the drive inside the case and if all the thumbscrews are tightened properly there is no noticable ''rattling'' at all. I have owned a number of enclosures in the last few years and this is easily one of the best! Well made and durable, no need for a fan due to the aluminim casing and SUPER easy to swap drives in thanks to the SATA and IDE hookups and all the thumbscrews! When I need another enclosure I hope this one is still available!

got this with my recent order and it works fine. really nothing to install. XP didn't have any problems with it. I wanted it because i have a few extra HDD that I thought'd be worth using to take large files to and fro. this'll do the job nicely. Only gave it 4 of 5 because the sides sit in slots and slip out easily making reassembly somewhat of a hassle. also, while the room is ample, if you plan on swapping HDD much, you feel like you'll pull loose some wiring. If it wasn't for the fact i wanted to swap HDD within it, it would be excellent as you'd only have to assemble it one time. I'll probably just buy another one for the other HDD.

Very cheaply made. It came with the appropriate cables but did not come with the 4 screws to fasten the hard drive to the case. The sides of the enclosure are very flimsy and rattle given the right conditions. I would not recommend for anyone attempting to travel with an external hard drive. Should be ok for anyone who just wants extra storage with their desktop PC (in this case the flimsy case wouldn't matter). You get what you pay for in this case

I received this product and had my hard drive in the casing literally within minutes. There is plenty of room to work within. I have another enclosure and it is too much of a pain in the ass to swap drives. This one will be easy. XP recognized it immediately. After formatting and copying files the casing was still cool. Thumb screws are a nice feature.

Great product. I got it with this (http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?Sku=TSD-160AS3) Seagate SATA drive and was up and running in 10 minutes. Case is quite roomy, sturdy, and the four screws used to secure the drive on the bottom of the case fit perfectly. I've had the case/drive combiniation for a little over two weeks now and I'm very happy with my purchase so far.

Rattling? That reviewers drive's disc must be egg shaped. Overall, it's very sturdy. I don't understand the reviewer's comment about needing a screwdriver for the ''drive screws''. If by that he meant screws to attach the drive to the enclosure, there is no such arrangement. The drive just sits there, held in place by friction. Such an arrangement seems rather poor, but even though there is generous space surrounding the drive to make installation easy, no harm is likely to be done. Especially, if you put a piece of non conducting material between the drive and one end so the LED leads don't get shorted. Or, by rearranging the holes on one side, the drive could be attached with screws. Thumb or otherwise. Since my computer experience is still on training wheels, I had some awkwardness getting a new drive to function with the enclosure. Sabrent's support was quick and to the point. New drives need to be formatted. You have to like this enclosure. At $30, I may buy another one.

I am a first time buyer of enclosures but I did purchase 2 of these well built enclosures. I am well satisfied with this enclosure, which will be used with my Serato Scratch Live program. The thumb screws are a great benefit if you plan on switching out hard drives regularly. A little noise but I can overlook that. I would recommend the user to hot-glue the other parts so they dont move. I am glad that there are no lights to annoy me at night (there is only a small power light in the back of the unit). I may purchase a black one.

I was a little skeptical about how an external SATA HDD would work in this enclosure, but after putting it all together which was extremely to begin with… this baby works like a charm! It’s extremely fast, no noise what so ever and you don’t even need any screwdrivers to open & close the case.. I have this bad-boy a BIG THUMBS UP!!

My 1st enclosure, so no prior experience to compare against, but very pleased with this purchase. Haven't tried the SATA, but the IDE works great - slap it in and go (manual is comical - gotta wonder about the translation service - but fortunately unnecessary - it's all intuitive on XP systems). Pinned down the sides with hot melt glue to keep them in place during quick drive swaps, also keeps down the rattling. Love the over-size case screws - very easy to access the drive. Only request would be for the drive screws to also be thumb screws or to have flanges and rubber bands to avoid requiring a screwdriver.
