Not a thing! I have never utilized Transcend CF cards before. In fact, the only CF cards I've ever applied are SanDisk and Lexar expert cards. I took a possibility on the new 600x Transcend CF cards. Never ever, Under no circumstances, Never ever once more! On a recent trip to the Arctic Ocean to photograph polar bears and walruses, I knowledgeable the 1st CF card failure in more than a decade of digital photography. A single of the Transcend 16GB cards I purchased straight from Transcend (Order No. 100046945; SN 305914 0189 8330AB OU6RF), failed miserably. It recorded the very first dozen photos then gave me nothing at all but blank images on the last 50 photos on the card. It price me priceless photographs of walruses as they came from the water straight toward me on the beach. I was employing a Nikon D300s and 200-400mm fǚ lens. DO NOT USE A TRANSCEND CF CARD UNLESS YOU CAN AFFORD TO Lose YOUR Pictures! Buy Lexar or SanDisk Specialist CF cards if your pictures are essential to you. Purchase Transcend ONLY if you can afford to miss the shots because of CF card failure.

None for me I intended to use this card as Solid State storage in my Acer Aspire 1 netbook, but it just doesn't work: the card gets detected appropriately by the BIOS at initially, but when OS (tried with Linux) tries to use it, it fails.

Great cost, capacity and great warranty. I have had two terrible cards in a row. Sending them in for replacement is a true pain. My initial card was corrupt and only data recovery applications could get the majority of my images off the card. The replacement card would not format. I have been working with Transcend cards for many years and these are my initial bad experiences. I hope its just a fluke.

low-cost not totally compatible with Canons DPP plan and only showin 15GB of space , Not 16. This is my second attempt with this card . I have discovered that lightroom and phototshop do not detect any corrupted pictures when viewing on my Pc, on the other hand Canons DPP nevertheless shows 15-50 % corrupted. Nevertheless bummed about my camera only seeing 15gb of free of charge space and not the 16gb I paid for. Even so 15GB for the value is nonetheless acceptable asumming the rest of it operates.

Worked good for several days. Took some test pictures with Canon 40D and also employed to store files from my notebook. Died absolutely and all of a sudden right after about a week of light use. Tried four distinct computer systems and two operating systems and got the same error message saying the card could not be formatted. This happened on a trip to Cocos Island, Costa Rica. Luckily I was utilizing my trusty old two gig card for shooting. I would have been heartbroken if I had lost pictures from my trip!

There aren't seriously any negatives. I've employed these reduce priced cards purchased from New Egg for various years - and by no means had a dilemma. Unlike my pricey Lexar which designed a mess with a Canon incompatibility problem. I use mine in a 5D and with the exception of the note below, it's good. None Be certain your camera is in a position to properly deal with a 16 GB card. Most a lot more recent Canons will, but the 5D for one will not. Canon has not updated the firmware and numerous are concerned they won't -- but a different way to sell what ever they use replace the otherwise great 5D. This is what happens. If you load this into the Canon, it will recognize it as a 16GB card and it works fine. You offload the photos and at some point you format the card. Congratulations, your 16 GB card has just develop into an eight GB. It is achievable to reformat the card, either in a cheap but recent Rebel -- and in theory you can do it by way of pc. I haven't had a lot luck with that - it's a royal pain. Canon should have warned people today about this .. but...

It gets the job done for everyday shooting. I use this with my Canon 50D to shoot weddings and the card is just to slow for bursting. I ended up ordering a faster card and employing this card for my second shooter.

It's low cost, large, and Newegg shipped it swift. Supports DMA. Incompatible. Out of five readers I personal, it worked in two. Of the two it worked in, one particular ran at 2MB/second and the other at 10MB/second read, 6MB/second compose. I was arranging to use it with an SATA adapter as a SSD, but it's incompatible with that. In all probability would function fine for photography, but I have lots of 1G cards for that already.

Worth and it worked for what I wanted to do, which was to upgrade an iPod mini from 4G up to 16G. none genuinely... it could usually be faster. Identified a guide on the internet to get rid of the old 4G Micro drive from the iPod mini and replace it with this. I don't have to obtain a new iPod and the hundred or so dollars of accesories to go along with it in order to be capable to fit all of my 9 Gigs of music into my old and trusty iPod mini.

-High Capacity-Rapid sufficient for complete function on my Canon 20d (main use)-Quite sturdy (spent three months in the dry Yosemite higher altitude backcountry at ft, then higher altitude Peru through the rainy season, with climbing and biking, in a pack that has been x-rayed, dropped, rolled down a hill, jostled in my pack a LOT)-NO ERRORS yet ;) none! I bought this when it was twice the price now, but i don't regret it... I'm taking into consideration buying a couple much more actually. One thing to contemplate is the capacity. If you are carrying out travel photography, due to the fact the size holds 򗧈 JPG/RAW pictures, if you lose one you're hosed. Something has to be stated for carrying a bunch of 4GB cards around, due to the fact if you shed one particular or it dies, you only shed a fraction of all your images. That being mentioned, I had two of these and filled them each up constantly, and I haven't lost one particular however.

Other reviewers had no challenges. The card is affordable for the capacity. Attempted it in two hi finish digital cameras and this chip was defective. It is a multi layered chip and a single layer chip is safer. This card hits a negative memory cell after less than 1 gig of writing. It results in the create light staying on for a minute or two and possibly one or two photos can be taken at that time. It is unusable for any rapid shooting soon after that point. I considered this chip defective. Some card readers couldn't see it and the one that did had the slowest transfer rate ever Ɣx max). Newegg rocks and rma was offered!

loads of extra storage works out of box quick response time 133x formats to about 14.7 i bought this to act as a drive for a carpc it worked fine in the desk leading didnt get to attempt it for its intended use i suspect the adapter is DOA because the card did format on the desktop just fine. had to RMA the card not use for it. the price tag is good for the amount of GB's you get not as fast as some but more quickly than most. transcend also tends to make industrial grade cards unfortunately newegg dont sell those. or i havent observed them.

I never have to transform my card in my Canon Digital Rebel XTi with this, I'm pretty sure I've by no means even come close to filling it. It can be a bit slow and laggy at instances, but that's to be anticipated with any card. However, absolutely nothing important that tends to make me also unhappy, and this is hardly a complaint for supplying me with this significantly space on a single card, and doesn't evaluate to possessing to modify cards often. Extremely happy with my purchase, my other cards have been sitting in my zip compartment in my camera case untouched ever due to the fact.

Superb price/performancePerforms in Canon 30D (but read the cons)Haven't lost a photoFantastic for travel photography Shortly right after inserting this card and undertaking some test shooting, my camera froze. I had to eliminate/reinsert the battery to get the camera operating once more. The camera has never carried out this ahead of, so I assume it's the card. Even though traveling, the camera froze five times inside the first 4 GB on just one of three identical Transcend cards. After that initial hiccup, the cards worked fine. These cards are about 25-30% slower inside a Canon 30D than my SanDisk Intense III 4GB cards. This has only been an issue when bursting ten+ RAW or 40+ JPEG, which is incredibly uncommon for me, so I can live with that for this value. On a prior trip I utilised a portable challenging drive / CF reader. It worked, but it was a pain. I had to retain the battery charged, waste valuable holiday time transferring photos off my card, carry the heavy drive and be concerned about dropping it. A few significant low-cost cards like this 1 are an great option and are my new common for travel storage. I can shoot RAW for a number of days on one particular card, then switch to the subsequent card at a moments notice.

I have four of these cards. They perform excellent in my Olympus E-410 & E-510 cameras. I get around 700 RAW + full resolution JPGs per card. They are not faster, bigger, or no cost. These cards are fast sufficient for all but the most demanding action shooting. I have a Transcend 300X for fast shooting.

A lot much less than other brands. Plenty rapid for a 40D (about 103 L JPEG shots ahead of the buffer runs out) getting utilized casually...Sports shooters may possibly want a more quickly card. Big! Slower than a SanDisk Intense III...but that's to be expected.

Item seems to function in USB card reader. Product did not operate as a replacement for the Segate 8GB MicroDrive in a Creative Zen MicroPhoto. Drive would format, but firmware would not load (product's lack of PIO mode 4 assistance is probably the problem?). The apparently-discontinued-as-of-a-few-days-ago A-Data 16GB card operates fine in this application. Do not try to use this item in the aforementioned Creative product.

High Capacity Slow, I purchased this card as a backup to my more quickly sandisk so its only utilised when necessary. If you are preparing on employing this for the Nikon D700 come across yet another more rapidly card. Almost ALL operations benefits in an hour glass, like using absolutely nothing far more than the backlight function on the on/off switch. As soon as performed, nonetheless, it and other operations happen devoid of delay for a brief time. Instant previews following taking a shot, however, always have a two-four second delay. The card probably operates fine for smaller sized files and lower MP cameras but if you are using this in a cam that generates 10+ MB pictures discover one thing more rapidly.

I utilized this card in conjunction with a fanless CPU/mobo to make an totally silent (no moving parts) linux-based household server. Some individuals have said that the card is slow, which produced me hesitant to obtain it, but I was pleasantly surprised. The speed is far more than adequate for this use. Fantastic value/performance ratio. This is an MLC card , not SLC, which is to be expected at this price tag. If you are preparing on working with it as the key boot/OS device in a computer, you require to strategy cautiously. Otherwise you'll wear out the card quite rapidly from the large amount of disk writes that modern operating systems perform. Expected intense care to partition and format for use as an IDE device in linux with ext3fs. My 1st attempt made a partition that continually failed the file system examine at bootup. I don't blame the card, even though, given that it is not really produced for doing this sort of factor. The moment I got things right, it has been smooth and error-cost-free.

Worked in my Olympus Evolt E-500. The Evolt was prepared to take two,483 SHQ jpegs on it. Took about 1000 photographs Ɩ.37 gb) on a multi-day trip (yes they were backed up along the way). Quickly sufficient for my demands. It now lives in my iPod mini, where it is quieter, more quickly, and 4 occasions bigger than the original drive. Can't consider of any. Picked this card out for my iPod mini. A post and comment on Geek Method led me to this card. This card's "IDE PIO mode 6 and Ultra DMA mode -4" are key specifications to assure that it will perform in an iPod. Undertake that hack at your personal threat.
