Scythe SY1225SL12SH "Slipstream" Case Fan
Comment:
Lots of airflow, noise to airflow ratio is very good, ( It's not that loud for what it moves) plus if your looking for massive airflow to have to sacrifice some quietness for airflow. Had my a single fan seize soon after 2 years and the other start to make noise after a year, but a toothbrush and a dab of oil fixed them ideal up. So be prepare if it does and if you don't want to deal with returning just take away the sticker and rubber cap take a toothbrush and clean what you can out, then perform a tiny oil in the bearing system and it will be like new once more. These do have a shorter life then advertised but that's due to the fact the "slipstream" bearing technique is slightly flawed, dirt is capable to get in it which causes the seizing and rattling. I've read people claim to not be capable to clean and oil it back to working situation and it appears to be additional they don't want to take an added five minutes to function the oil in which is crucial. Don\'t forget ONLY USE A DROP OF OIL. If you put to much in take a rag and get rid of the excess.

Quietest fan, with decent pressure, for the quantity of CFM. It shorted out and stopped operating all with each other causing my computer system to freeze.. Now it won't even Post so idk, I've however to test all my RAM but going to a personal computer shop tomorrow to hopefully test and see if that is the problem. It is totally unacceptable for the fan to burn out only soon after just over a year + 1ǚ of solid use, As a ten$ fan could be the price to a great portion of my technique...

- Blows a great quantity of air (like an electric mini-fan!)- Low expense (bought at a discount for ű shipped)- Comes with a Ɖ to four pin adapter'! (That alone charges anyplace from ŭ-8 itself!) - None; the louder noise is expected for a really high cfm fan... everyone who offers a low rating for this fan just since of the loudness is dummer than dum and wants some more education. - It's probably 1 of the very best, if not the ideal, 120mm cooling fan that gives off the ideal quantity of air, I've seen on newegg, (actually 1 of the only ones) dollar for dollar.

Large fan, very good value Not certain when it happened could have been a year ago but it locked up the tiny sticker has a brown burned hunting bubble in the middle of it. IMHO a fan should last longer than a year even a low cost a single.

These do move fairly a bit of air, as advertised. I won't fault them for that. I have no way of measuring even though no matter if or not they're in fact moving as significantly as they're supposed to. These are rather noisy. They make a medium-high pitched whine that sounds like a hive of angry bees. I even oiled them as was suggested and it hasn't helped. Might send these back and get some thing quieter. I'm not certain if mine are creating this significantly noise mainly because they're defective or what, but it isn't genuinely tolerable.

Pulls a lot of air for the price tag. Lasts a extended time. I've been buying scythe fans for a long time. They are trustworthy. Keeps my case cool enough, even though it has the capability to do far better if not for the gap amongst blades and housing (see beneath) LOUD. Not loud enough to bother you for the duration of a movie, but louder than my entire gaming rig in the course of load. I would say probable 30-35 dB.Also, the gap among the fan blades and the fan housing is huge enough that when you mount the fan, it blows air in the reverse direction - a considerable quantity.two eggs off - 1 for the noise, 1 for the airflow

Moves a ton of air! Uncomplicated to install. The fan plastic smell is Really strong and stinks up the room when first installed. It smells genuinely poor! Hope they last longer than the Rosewill fans did! They are rated for 30,000 hours. Fingers Crossed.

It moves a ton of Air. Very effortless to install, and isn't as loud as some exaggerate it to be. I Suggest THIS Product TO Everyone. Keeps the heat out. Other than that, absolutely nothing negative about this fan. If you feel its too loud, go get a Fan Controller!

Pushes A LOT of air!Great value! Keeps my comp COLD AS ICE.. Yea, there loud so what. Just...TURN.. UP......THE...RAADDIIOOO. 80's music. I bought these factors two years ago to replace the 230mm side fan in my Cooler Master HAF 932. I bought 6. four side and two top. When my computer starts up, literally sounds like I'm vacuuming. (Swiffer vacuum) So when my girlfriend tells me to vacuum, I just turn on my computer. What she don't know, won't hurt her. Obtain EM!

Fantastic price taking into consideration the stats on these fans. Just wish they would last longer Initially fan lasted 8 months, 2nd fan lasted 9 months. The usual slowdown in RPM's followed by full failure. Oiling them gets you an additional couple of weeks till they can be replaced.Just make confident you watch the RPM's on these fans at about the 6 month mark specifically if you have two of these mounted on your CPU heatsink. Really should be amongst 1900-2000 RPMish if they are set complete blast.

These issues move an insane quantity of air. I have 7 (yes 7) of these in a Raidmax Quantum mid situation. two intake, two top exaust, 1 rear exaust, and a push/pull set-up on my cooler master hyper 212+ cpu cooler. Keeps a mildly OC'd AMD Phenom II X4 940 at three.2 ghz down to 31C idle and never ever seen load temps over 41C. A tiny louder then expected but it's cool. I don't mind the jet engine sound they make. Just hope it doesn't wake up my roomates lol. Plus I'm getting what one particular of the other reviewers stated like a burnning plastic smell. No large deal to me. I'm in a effectively ventilated room. Others have mentioned it as I'm going to say it. Check the specs prior to obtain. They are considerably louder then common situation fans. Don't like noise don't purchase these unless you have a decent fan controler. Again they move an insane quantity of air but for the price you can't go incorrect.

- Moves a TON of air - Loud This fan moves a TON of air but the biggest side effect of high CFM's is the loudness. I didn't realize 37dba was this loud. Way as well loud for me.Mine came defective. I contacted Scythe and newegg at the end of last week and newegg responded within 24 hours AND it was on a saturday. I still haven't heard back from Scythe. Main thumbs up for great newegg support. On the other hand, it price me practically as significantly as the fan to ship it back for an RMA.Took 1 egg off for Scythe service and another egg off for a defective fan. I bought 4 additional Scythe fans and I hope this doesn't come about again.

Puts out lots of air. Rated at 110cfm # 37dba.Have use Scythe fans in many builds for the cost and high quality. This 1 is way too loud. It reminds me of server fans. Doesn't matter if you have totally enclosed case or full mesh case. It's LOUD! Nonetheless adore Scythe. Bang for buck, but go for the Noctua for leading efficiency vs acoustics.

These moves a metric but ton of air and is reasonably quiet compared to some other folks i have used in the past. Louder than the stock fans i replaced but not as well significantly so that it becomes a difficulty or distracts me. Reminds me they are doing their job :-). Nothing in my case has gotten more than 40c with these installed like the video cards which generally run hot.
