Only downfall is the high prices on hard drives nowadays.

Does the trick, 500gb is more than enough storage for the user. Worked well, transfer rates are nothing crazy but are acceptable. Pretty quiet hard drive, would order again.

Bought this for a business style desktop since the old one was still using IDE connectors haha.

I have alaways preferred Seagate and have enjoyed the excellent factory warranty and service you recieve when dealing directly with them (should you ever nead to). Highly recommended.

Comment: This hard drive was not my first choice, but given the high price of hard drives currently this is what seemed to fit the bill. So far it is working quite well and I have no complaints. There are no issues with speed and it is running very quietly. It fit perfectly into the case with no issues.

Comment: I am currently using this hard drive for my windows xp install because I have my eye on some SSD drives for Windows 7. The size is acceptable because I can install programs on my C drive without worrying about space.

It's not a very good OS drive as it took 30+ seconds for my computer to boot into windows now with a SSD it's at 7 sec. I've had it for 2 years and the SMART say's it will last another 2 so 4 years isn't that bad.

Other than that, it is very quiet, quite flat (one disc only) and all-in-all a very good disk. I am using it as a system disk and seems fast enough booting up.
