Comment:
Effectively constructed and a very good value, observed these for a lot much more $ elsewhere. Looks excellent in my clear case. Had no troubles with the cable length, audio cable created it to the back of my mobo, USB to the front with additional on every single. four USB headers have been ganged, not individual pins. Audio came with 2 distinct ganged headers so I have options with my subsequent mobo. Firewire header was not ganged, but I don't have firewire on this build so I did not have to deal with it, plus it is only 1 connector, so actually not a huge deal. This is one particular of those products that will move from machine to machine as I upgrade, so I will almost certainly have this for years.

Extremely very good top quality, used three of these so far through my builds. An superb way to add USBs to the front of modded situations. This a ř" rating regardless of my cons just primarily based on top quality versus price...a incredibly fantastic bargain, highly advised by the Hambone! At times far more is not always so good; it would have been nice if Silverstone would have produced a connector for the cables correct in back the jacks. That way an person could decrease the amount of excess cables. OBTW, the added connectors on the ends are a nuisance, I often reduce them off.

does what it's suppose to do, is located in the middle of the case, which is much additional practical then the USB's at the bottom of my case. lots of USB headers necessary on motherboard for every thing to operate, had to disconnect my other USB situated at the bottom of my case so i could hook almost everything up on this. not a challenge since i dont use the bottom USB anyway. (needs 3 USB headers on motherboard) operates good with my HD audio, no hums or buzzing, all USB slots perform, firewire works. Purchased to fill in ugly missing floppy drive bay and so i didnt have to break my back trying to find USB slots at the bottom of my complete tower case.

Sturdy framelengthy cablesscrews includedlooks good Why not group two USB cables collectively and make it easy for us installing it to the MB? I hate, hate, hate the shield cables. There is no cause for this design and style anymore. One egg off for the unnecessarily tough design and style. I have had a backpanel USB addon from the early 200s with 2 USB connectors integrated for hassle-free MB installation. Why are they nevertheless performing this to us with less dextrous hands?

Reasonable cost. Has both Azalia High Definition and AC97 Headphone/Mic plug. Sturdy metal frame. Good way to add front USB and audio ports to an older case. I practically gave this solution 1 egg. See Other Thoughts... I kept obtaining "Device Can Perform Faster" error messsage whenever I plugged in a USB 2. device (external hard drive and flash drive) and would downgrade the speed to USB 1.1 I tried just about something to get it function (including uninstalling and re-installing USB drives in the Device Manager) but practically nothing worked until... I decided to basically disconnect the stand-alone "Shield" pin from the motherboard USB header and dilemma solved. Do do not know if the issue was caused by my motherboard or this solution; but operates just fine now. I no longer get the error message and all devices work to USB two. speeds.

Works excellent in my brother's system. USB headers are ATX-standard (split) kind. The 1394 connector connects to the board either as a header block and single-pin configuration. The front audio connection works with his onboard audio. The usb/firewire cables are fairly lengthy and are sheathed with heatshrink on the connectors. I had hoped to use this in my principal desktop as I necessary a front 1394 connector (in block-style) for my audigy2zs' internal firewire header. Even so, whilst the cables are lengthy on this panel, the cables are however not long adequate to stretch from the prime to the bottom-rear of a full-tower case. Other than this application, I can't seriously say anything damaging about the panel's develop excellent.

No hub - USB ports connect directly to motherboard headers.Very good excellent construction. USB plugs are incredibly loose when pluggin in to 9-pin motherboard headers, and I had to put a dab of hot glue on them to maintain them in place. This is probably due to the fact that it has a 4-pin plug for every single USB port rather than the modern day 9-pin plug. This also indicates you have to look up the pinout for your motherboard to set up appropriately. Calls for 4 USB headers ƒ 9-pin headers) on your motherboard. Functions fine with out USB shield wires connected. If you currently have audio ports on your case and don't want bobo searching extra dead audio ports, take this apart and place a piece of electrical tape more than the audio ports, then place it back together. It looks qualified.

Bought this so mainly for the sound ports, the ones on my case were not compatible with the mobo. Anything hooked in with no issues compatibility wise. However I could only use two of the USB ports due to the fact I kept the two on the situation hooked up and I had no more spots. This is seriously a con of my mobo though and not this item

Operates great for me, extremely hassle-free. Like other people have said, the mic/headphone jacks are a bit tight. I don't feel thats a huge deal even though, I would rather it a bit tight than too loose. It was a very good investment, would purchase a different.

Does what it ought to, and looks quite good, at a fair cost. USB header cables are split. Not a genuine huge deal. I was just shocked and had to pull out my motherboard manual for pin configurations. Has a lot more of a matte black finish, where the images make it look a bit additional gloss black.

This unit replaced the SYBA CL-FP-JM673 Multi Function Front Panel that did not function for me.This a single supports Azalia HD Audio: that means if you plug in headphones, the speakers turn off, just like you would anticipate from any old pocket radio. None It does not have the card readers that the SYBA CL-FP-JM673 Multi Function Front Panel has, but I can find a devoted card reader front panel to supplement this SILVERSTONE one particular. On the SYBA there are just too a lot of things that didn't fit with my EVGA 780 motherboard. You can read my overview for that product.

Solid aluminum contruction, all ports work perfectly. Azalia and AC97 headers. Affordable. Firewire has a block header and individual pin headers if your mobo isn't normal. Audio port requires a fair quantity of force to plug in a jack. The USB headers are in blocks of 4 pins instead of the usual block of eight pins. This is additional a nitpick than a con.

Conveniently gives outlets for four USB, Mic, Headphone and Firewire Ground and shield are not believed out.1. There are four separate USB cables ending in typical 1x4-pin plug, plus 1 pin for shield. Several mobos don't provide a separate shield pin.2. The panel consists of a sealed plastic blob containing all wiring, mounted on the metal tray. Inside of the blob, all the receptacle shields are wired collectively, and also connected to the grounds of the audio connectors. This is a recipe for ground loop, and for noise on Mic and Headphones3. No matter whether or not the receptacle shields speak to the chassis ground is not well defined. They might or might not, based on precise positioning of receptacles in the front-panel cutouts.General, this item may occur to perform in a distinct application. Nonetheless, mainly because of the above-described difficulties, it's not feasible to take care of shielding/grounding adequately to have the very best likelihood of minimal audio noise, or trusted high-speed USB.

Makes it possible for the user to connect USB񳅢/audio from the front rather than have to reach about the back to access these ports.I bought two and didn't have any complications with them. Lot more of wires snaking via inside the case. The USB ports could be spaced additional apart. I have lots of flash drives and putting four of them in is a tight squeeze. From reading the evaluations, this item suffers from some poor high quality control. This item isn't something but wire extention with connectors. There's no electronics and it shouldn't ascertain whether or not you are using HD or AC97 audio. It's just wire and connector.USB 1.1 speed can be triggered by line noise, poor or broken (but nonetheless in intermittent speak to) connection or wire crosstalk due to becoming pressed together also tightly. This is evidenced by a few folks finding line noise on the audio connection. So I am thinking some wires may be touching at some exposed point or becoming pressed with each other also tightly inside the plastic molding. If you don't have any of these troubles then take into account your self lucky. It would be good if the USB ports had been vertically mounted like 1394 port and spaced additional apart, so I don't have to cram my flash drives in. Odvious resolution is to use USB extension cables, but I'd rather not have to purchase any far more stuff if not essential.
