Comment:
This case has been excellent. It is eye-catching and pretty roomy for an HTPC case. I didn't place a lot in it, but what I did put in fit nicely. Other reviewers have had concern with space but I did not.The door on the front helps it blend in with the rest of my AV gear. You have very good access to the insides when you take off the cover. I had to take out the cross-bar to install the hard drives into the three.5" cage.

Nice situation. My vid card prevented use of middle HDD cage with fan blowing on HDD's but no big whoop. I did not find wire routing to be simple. Factors got crowded fairly rapid mainly because I had to leave in the center cage just to have the front fan mounted. If no front fan, you can eliminate middle cage alltogether and have some additional space to play with. I am mainly reviewing this proper now to inform people today that your four pin cpu energy plug wire from your energy supply may well not reach the MB plug. Newegg sells an extension wire by Athena Energy (CABLE-AD09) that fixes this dilemma. I would order one with the situation for Ū.99 just in situation and not have to wait a week like I did.

Nice case will fit proper in with my house theater. Plenty of space for HDD growth and cooling if required. It's a situation that is worth a lot more then they are asking for it! Screws, screws, screws... No quick removal of any element. Re-installation needs a bit of alignment to get almost everything back in their houses. Filler blocks for the external bays aren't held very tight with two screws. Ended up adding a sheet metal screw to preserve them from twisting. Coupled this with a Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H Micro ATX board, so I don't end up with the vid card concerns, mainly because of the HDMI out on the card and the PS doesn't get in the way because of the Micro foot print. I would suggest extension cables for both the ATX and the CPU12v lines, mine are about 2" to brief and stopped the construct dead in it's tracks till the other cables came in.

Good layout. Space for a complete length PCI-E ྫ inches) video card if you remove the middle drive cage. Decent cooling alternatives. Built like a tank. Rear 80mm fans are sort of loud (not annoying loud, but noticeable) and on 3 pin connectors only (no three-4 pin converter). Have to shed 3 drive slots for a long video card (GeForce GTX 285 in this situation). Blue LED's are distractingly bright. This is an exceptional ATX, lengthy video card supporting HTPC situation. It is built extremely effectively, and is incredibly solid. I bought it to home a Computer built about a extended video card, whilst still keeping a profile beneath 7.five inches, and it is operating wonderfully. If you are concerned about airflow, I recommend replacing the bottom drive cage with the difficult drive bracket from the middle cage. You will have two 3.5" slots open in the front of the bezel, but the door will cover them up. This enables you to use the fan bracket, which was significant to me for airflow to my video card. I suggest a modular PSU, just so you don't have tons of excess cables about - but in my situation I just shoved the additional cables under the second tough drive. I searched for a long time to find a sub-赨 HTPC desktop case under 7.5 inches tall that could assistance a total ATX mobo and 11 inch video card...and this is pretty substantially the only one particular! It's fairly good although :)

Quite sharp hunting case and it does not draw negative interest when applied in an audio equipment rack. Overall, I’m incredibly pleased with the case, but through technique develop I had some issues with the case. Despite any negative feedback below, I nonetheless would acquire this, as looks had been most significant to me. Sitting in my living area, I found almost all other HTPC cases appalling to appear at. This one is not!If you’re cautious with component choice you must have tiny difficulty with fan noise, although the built in situation fans had been the loudest fans in my method it was acceptable from a distance though. As others have pointed out the middle drive bay must be removed to accommodate larger video cards. Moderately sized cards may possibly incredibly properly nonetheless bring about difficulties as well. I have a Sapphire 5770 (Vapor-X) and could not use the middle bay to hold a tricky drive by about 1ǚ-inch. An added 1-inch in the case depth would be ideal. For your reference, the Sapphire 5770 Vapor-X is roughly eight.5” long. Realistically you can expect two five.25” bays and 3 3.five” bays (two of which have a front panel face plate). It would be nice to have more passive ventilation openings. Given the target audience, I think it’s reasonable to expect this to be placed in shelves or audio racks and I’m not concerned with perforations on the side and prime. I would rather the additional sources of cool air then a clean hunting leading and side. It’s not undesirable as it is... I’m just saying it could be greater.I would also examine the layout of your motherboard, as some bigger components could conflict with the drive bays (i.e. RAM height, or working with the lowest of three remaining three.five” bays). Once more, cautious even though beforehand will steer clear of this issue.

Area for lots of drives, and it's a good seeking basic situation. ) The door doesn't close all the way when you put in a ready-boost SD card in an internally-mounted multi-card reader. I ended up mounting the card reader so that the front of it faced inside the case.1) The situation doesn't really give you the area to set up a motherboard that has a major energy connector on the front edge of the board. This could be solved by shaving off the last 1ǘ inch of the bottom panel of drive cages. It's too negative there is no IR controlled on/off device on this case. That implies that it has to either always be on, or you have to stroll more than and power it up manually.General, it gets the job carried out. I deducted 1 egg for the energy connector interference problem.

* solid construction quality* optional side and front intake fans improve air flow substantially * integrated exhaust fans are a bit loud at max speed* using a long video card (Radeon 5850 or higher) will force you to remove middle drive bay I have a Radeon 5770 video card in my HTPC, and it's a pretty tight fit due to getting tough drives installed in the middle bay. With a typical 785G motherboard you are forced to use lower speed PCIE slot or stay away from getting any 3.five" challenging drives in the middle bay.

-Fantastic sleek looking situation-Rapid and straightforward install-Fans a relativley silent-Extra side 80mm fan selection ( see cons though )-Durable-Runs "average" temperatures -front door opens very easily/doesnt stay closed firmly-Added side 80mm fan optional, tried to install more fan, you have to take away the side screening, the screen is only attached via the inside, with side flaps folded inwards, when you try to bend the screen flaps outwards they break.I broke three of them immediatly attempting to add the 80mm additional fan,I gave up after the thrid 1 broke/snapped. if all of the break/snap you have no way of holding the screen into location. THIS is the only actual con to this case. This actually bummed me out as i seriously wanted that additional fan for cooling purposes, for the CPU. Hopefully Silverstone will update thier case to accomodate this. The screen almost breaks as soon as you bend the clips/flaps back, not a fantastic design at all, for this specific feature. Solid construction, supports uATX and ATX motherboards, has tons of space for drives, discreet closing front panel looks wonderful with other residence audio equipment. Verify the depth of the installation as this is not a short case. However, you nevertheless will need to eliminate method RAM to un/install the five 1ǚ" drives. The external bays are not external/internal bays, even though with a slightly enhanced style, they easily could have been. The Newegg description lists the fans as 21db, but the documentation included with the situation lists them as 25db, which I assume is much more right.

Most clean seeking case for a HTPC setup for the price tag on the market place. This is the second method with this situation I have built. The unit has been updated with a reset switch and far more vents (not that they were needed but additional is superior). The inside mounting of drives is superior arranged and hold more "stuff". Construction is extremely sturdy. I will be buying a lot more of these instances. The situation can hold 4 fans. A massive plus. The two that come on the situation you almost can't hear. The screws that hold the DVD drive & HD cages at difficult to get at. Thank the man upstairs there are not that a lot of. And the cage for the DVD drives is tight to work with if the motherboard is installed. As far as case goes this is still gets high marks in my book.

Looks good, compliments the rest of my entertainment technique.Relatively Compact, Yet will allow for a full ATX Method, that is not with no its cons however.Solid Construction, Extremely Stout and Rigid.Decent Airflow.Wonderful placement for PSU.There is SOME Wire management, but it is a modest situation, so I was pleased with what was accessible. The drive bay blanks are flimsy, low-cost, and by no means remain in location. which brings me to the subsequent, why contain 3.5" drive bays? this case is as well contemporary for floppies, an LCD? No Way, there is a cover/door that would defeat the purpose. due to the placement of my GTX 460, the middle bay was not offered for HDD use (I damaged a SATA connection in fact). So making use of the bay with the bay covers/blanks was tough since a HDD can not fit with the blanks fastened in. Right after chopping up the blanks and mount-taping them in location I was able to use the furthest bay for my HDDs.The Lid/Top can be a discomfort to line up, seat, and slide in. This case can be very unforgiving. If some thing is forgotten or if a thing has to be moved, several other elements could have to come out. Something as easy as a HDD swap or install may consume up to thirty minutes or far more just because several other items have to be removed in order to pull out the HDD bay.I Will say the size of this situation has allowed me to use a full ATX Board, with two GTX 460's, an 850 PSU, 3 HDD's and a BD drive.

Case looks good subsequent to my Tv, sleek, and sexy. Extremely clear and easy to understand directions. Every thing fits and doesn't get as well hot. Extremely rapid and easy to move old mobo and internals from full tower situation into here.Overall everything fit immediately after and I couldn't be happier for the price/quality/appearance. When installing, only challenge that arised was dealing with wires from the PSU. The wires are thick and sort of difficult to deal with, so it was an encounter routing it in the case. I installed a fan in the front and on the side to assist with airflow, but wires block the path of air from the front. Really tight to get a PSU in with a rubber pad around to isolate vibration. Case appears really classy. Lots of interior space. PSU mount gives you numerous possibilities as to how you want your PSU intake/exhaust fans configured. 5.25" and 3.5" bays are customizable, i.e. you can place them in any configuration you want. Front energy/hdd LED are about 5x brighter than they will need to be, you get employed to it, but its nonetheless semi-annoying. Case has overall superior develop top quality (reminds me a lot of Antec circa 2004), but the case panel on the leading doesn't like to line up adequately as very easily as it should. This suggests you finish up spending about 1-three min getting the panel lined up and in, when it ought to be much more like 10-15 seconds. If you're like me and utilizing your old gaming rig as an HTPC, you can't go incorrect with this case. For 贄 i dont see how you can get a classier looking case. The case's front panel very easily rivals my 赨 coolermaster all aluminum case for create quality/looks.

Sturdy; very good included literature; properly ventilated; lots of additional screws Very same as absolutely everyone else: modern video cards (like you'd want in a media center) encroach on the difficult drive space. I got a single drive there and had to put the other in one of the slots intended for external 3.5" drives. It's a good searching case, but absolutely not low profile. Make certain to measure the space you'll be putting it in.

Case is incredibly properly created, and clean, very good top quality from SilverStone. Its a bit tight inside but if you take away all the drive cages, it works out. I purchased this as I had the ATX guts of a quite highly effective system left over from some upgrades so I believed I would build myself a media unit. If you purchase a PSU for this, get 1 that pulls from the bottom, then out the back. Their is a vent right there to pull outside air into the supply. The a single I had already is front to back airflow so its sucking warm air from the case, then out the back. I am sure I will be acquiring a new PSU soon sufficient. Nothing against SilverStone, but NewEgg Shipping Dept. Come on guys, their are rebates on almost almost everything you sell, next time, dont put the UPS label over the UPC sticker on the box. In all the years I have been getting from NewEgg this is the first time I have ever had any issues at all, so I am not to upset. The front door stays closed, but would be good if it had a magnetic latch to hold it. My spare components media center came out fairly good.

Outstanding good quality case. Plenty of space for extra drives. I like the totally hidden front panel due to the fact it's for my home server. Takes common size power supply and complete ATX motherboard which was excellent considering that I built my WHS from largely "left over" elements except for a new pair of 1 TB WD Green tough drives.Fastest rebate I've had...received in 4 weeks. Easy to drop modest screws for the drive cages into the case. Support bar down the middle is a nuisance and appear unnecessary as the case is rather rigid. I wanted to place my WHS on the loved ones area Tv stand to get it out of my workplace which was getting warm from too several computers. This looks fantastic with the plain front panel and related size to my other components.

Nicely vented, quiet fans, lots of drive bays, smooth action on the front pannel, fairly light-weight however sturdy, sleek / clean appearance, PSU mount is reversible ( I installed mine so the commonly bottom-facing fan is exhausting air from the PCI card region ). A little tight to run PSU cables all through, could be deeper ( front to back wise ), extremely vivid LED ( wish it was amber, a less visually distracting color ), glaring white 'SilverStone' logo on the front ( detracts from the simplicity of the unit, which I like ), couldn't use middle drive bay with a full-size graphics card -> With an A7N8X ( ATX ) board installed, my ASUS FX 5900 actually touched my HDD's, and blocked the SATA power plug, even with the fan bracket removed. I had to stash them below the floppy drive, and hope they don't get too hot. Every single chassis has a tricky element, and while the screws to the front bays were annoying to operate with, there are only six in total and seriously not that tough if you're a small dexterous. Even though I like the style, I don't seriously like the ultra-brite LED's in the front of the unit, but want at least the power LED so I can tell when it's on - it's that quiet. I resolved this dilemma with a tiny Sharpie action - now it's visible but dull sufficient not to distract me although watching a movie. The most disappointing element of this chassis is that with a full-sized graphics card, I couldn't get my HDD's installed in the middle bay, with or with out the fan. Ideally, I'd have that 9x9 fan keeping 'em cool, but until I get a new card ( it's an AGP mobo... don't see that happening ), they're stuck elsewhere. Otherwise, no complaints - this unit looks very fairly sitting alongside my amplifier and other property theater equipment.

Complete ATX MB and PS; Sleek/Clean front design; Looks fantastic with my current entertainment center systems - I agree with other individuals that nothing at all is uglier than seeing ports and bays on a htpc when not in use; Solid case with multiple cooling config selections. Internal reminded me of the old steel 386 cases from packard bell - removable drive bays a little inconvenience to get to/work with; prefab bay holes don't truly line up nicely and had to invest some time lining the drives up seamlessly to bay. For any decent video card or dual cards you'll have to get rid of the middle three.5 drive bay to accommodate length and plugins. Not a important problem as I chose to house two HDDs and a 3.five card reader in the left 3.5 bay. General I'm quite satisfied with the product - a great acquire for me.

I purchased this case initially not understanding if I wanted a basic HTPC enclosure, or if I wanted something genuinely fancy with a touch screen. I looked at numerous of the high end HTPC circumstances like the Zalman HD160 prior to ordering this Silverstone. I could not be happier with the buy. The case looks appropriate at residence in my Bello stand with other high finish stereo gear. It does not draw focus to itself and looks suitable at property. The flip down door is good to hide the DVD drive, floppy, card reader, whatever actually. Lots of flexibility in this case. In the end, I'm genuinely glad I got this case vs some of the a lot additional high priced ones on the market place. It exceeded my expectations with respect to fit and form. Newegg was quick as usual w/ their shipping. The blue LEDs for the power and HDD are insanely bright. I left the HDD 1 disconnected and applied a small piece of foam to knock down the brightness of the power LED for now. The subsequent time I'm in the case, I will almost certainly add a resistor to the power LED to tame it down. Case is hosting a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L mobo and Earthwatts 430W power provide and 1 Seagate SATA drive The included 80mm silverstone fans are not poor noise wise, but I consider I will be swapping them out for some quieter Enermax ones soon.

Incredibly solidly built. Plenty of space for extra drives. The only access to the front USB and audio ports is by flipping down the front cover, which then have to be left open whilst they are in use. This leaves the complete unit exposed to damage and is rather ugly. The only other complaint I had was that the trays for the 5.25' drives covered so considerably of the principal motherboard plug in that I had to remove the tray in order to plug the 20 pin connector in. I wish this thing had been a small smaller

Cost is wonderful for this good of a case All the front connector cables come out to the left of the case, but your MB connectors will be to the right, had to reroute. Incredibly good-looking, quite solidly built. Just as so numerous reviewers have pointed out, this case has severe design flaws. You can fairly considerably forget about the middle basket if you are using any modern video card, and fitting just two hard drives and a media reader in the proper one took playing some practical tetris. Come to feel of it, where would you put ANY three.5" drives if you want 3-way SLI??!! It appears that not everyone here has had this a lot disappointment, which is odd, contemplating my prior case was a small form element (Ultra MicroFly), and it had A LOT a lot more useable space and expansion possibilities. I guess I can only attribute it to my motherboard choice, so beware that it is actually not a good selection with ASUS P6T, you will have the worst time with cable management. I guess I really should understand to listen to negative evaluations superior prior to I buy.
