Thermaltake TMG SL1 Blue LED PCI Dual Slot Fan
Comment:
This is 1 of the much better slot fans around - it's a decent size and runs at a high sufficient RPM to move some air. Sound isn't one particular of it's sturdy suits - a little whiny and annoying, but this variety of fan (centrifugal) is harder to make quiet than propeller form. It also doesn't do effectively against resistance - if your case doesn't have a good intake region this fan won't do considerably. Noise - the noise is largely in 1 frequency band; it's not anywhere as annoying as a whining two year old but it's generally there. I slowed mine (the fan, not the two year old) down with a Zalman speed controller and got it into the tolerable range but, of course, it doesn't move as significantly air. Air is truly difficult to move - you can move water more very easily, but water has other difficulties. Air likes to go in straight lines or in wide arcs - tight bends are a no-no as are obstructions with sudden alterations in shape (i.e., sharp edges). All these things generate turbulence and noise and lower the amount of air you can move. You require at least as substantially intake as outlet region and a lot more is superior. So it's not necessarily the fan that's at fault if your system doesn't cool down.

Cool blue LEDs. Requires air out of the tower case. Noisy. Takes air out of the bottom portion of the case. This was OK, cuz I place it next to my fanless GT9600. 16dB? I don't consider so. I have a Corsair 450w PS w/ a 120mm fan and a 120mm case fan for exhaust 麘rpm), and two 92mm fans for intake 񡿸rpm), and a 120mm 400rpm cpu fan, and this Thermaltake TMG SL1 A2414 80mm Blue LED Dual PCI Slot Fan is by far the noisiest factor in my Computer. So loud that I had to take it out.It moved some air, but my intake/exhaust program is fairly balanced, so adding a different exhuast fan genuinely didn't enable a lot, possibly 2 degrees C.

Exceptional tiny exhaust blower. It drops my GPU temperature ƒ x 8800GTX XXX in SLi) so that it runs 45 degrees idle and 60 degrees completely loaded. Heat is a enormous situation with the 8800s and this guy helped to eliminate trapped hot air in the PCI slots location. Pretty quiet and quite effective. Draws air from both sides and pushes it out unlike other blowers who draw air from only 1 side. If you plan to use the slots between the SLi setup, this will not work because all slots will be filled with this setup(using P5N32-E 680i). I have no other needs so this is not a challenge for me. I have the Antec p182 and it has 2x120mm front fans blowing in at total 𞲜CFM. Exhausting with 1x120mm blow-hole, 1x120mm rear, 2x8800GTX stock blowers at one hundred%, and this Thermaltake blower for a total of 𞲜.5CFM.

*see my earlier overview Ʉ: anyway 1 note on it being DEAD silent. That's mainly mainly because it was set up on a line coming out of my Energy Provide that especially said 'fans only'. This line undercut the fan's energy by quite a bit. Still, the light was just a quite :o and I still liked it, but just to point out to the individuals that don't know, this fan CAN be dead silent, or it CAN be Extremely loud but Really strong. If you want silent, then you may well want to check your power lines. Or acquire a new Power Supply, I was using an Antec TruPower Trio.

Yeah, this fan seriously makes no noise. The blue hue it makes looks incredile through the grates on my case ;p (Ultra Wizard) However no noise cuz it spins somewhat slow and therefor isn't the burliest of blowers. I pulled the fan component off of the slot connectors (it's only loosely snapped on there btw so if you move your box around alot it may fall off) a single time, on accident, leaving a wind tunnel region exactly where I could feel how much wind was blown... not substantially, it was like a slight summer time breeze. On hot cpu runs I can really feel heat 'eminating' (it doesn't blow, it moreso eminates) out of the back of my case.it takes up two slots. Not negative if you have a typical tower and a micro mobo like me, I wasn't employing these slots anyway! why do they make every little thing facing DOWN?? like videocards, this fan. Luckily the snap off cover could be fit each techniques (it's symmetrical) so when I snapped it back on I put it facing up! not all of the air it moves is caught by the windtunnel, wouldn't want any air wasted.

Blows air and I cant hear it! The fan on my 4870 is substantially louder. This is in place to move all the hot air that that makes out of my situation. Not Cost-free. I had to turn the mounting around to face it up, that took a total of 10 seconds. It does take up also slots. I utilized to consider I had a huge case but following the video card and this and my Tv tuner it's a tight fit, but it's not hot thats for positive.

Assists with mobo and GPU airflow. My 8600GT OC runs 51C idle and 70 on load. This cooled it off by about two-4C. Quiet Two PCI slots is a lot of space, doesn't move as a lot air as I hoped. Contemplating a graphics card that requires up 2 slots, a wless adapter 1 slot, a PhysX card 1 slot, and then this factor 2 slots. If I had been to add a second GPU there would be no room, so make sure you have the space or its gonna be sitting in the closet. Go purchase a cheaper PCI cooler that only takes up 1 slot

Built relatively nicely - not too inexpensive feeling/looking. Puts out a decent amount of air. I also have single-bay Rose**** fans and they seem to put out about the very same amount of air. It's challenging to tell, due to the fact the location is doubled. The single slot fans say they push 33CFM, but I'm not so sure there is substantially of a difference, except this fan is Significantly quieter. Fits nicely if you have a two empty slots among video cards. Could push a small much more air, but not negative as it is. Require two complete slots to use it. Present: Enermax Uber Chakra situation, Rosewill 850W PS, Q6600ʃ.3Ghz, EVGA nForce 680i LT, 4GB Mushkin DDR2 800, SLI EVGA 8800 GTS Superclocked, 500GB(x1) + 250GB(x2), DVDRW(x2), 24" Samsung LCD, Vista 64

The Pros are pushes great quantity of air out the back. Adequate to make a noticeable distinction. My case temp droped about ten. The main fan assembly Must come mounted correct-side-up not down towards situation bottom. Functions for me and lights up blue.

Wow, this fan is remarkable. I have a Raidmax Samurai situation with poor airflow so I decided to get this baby. Boy, my motherboard temperature(Asus P5W DH Deluxe) went from 44C to 29C. I am really please. Not only does it cool the motherboard, it provides cooling for my hot ATI 550 Tv Tuner which was blistering hot. With this card, my whole case had superior airflow and I was able to overclock my e6400 to three.2 ghz with considerably far more to spare. Requires up 2 PCI slots but if you require cooling, it doesn't really matter. BTW, don't look at the specs, this point shoots out additional air than my 120mm fan. Great obtain, would use it for all my PCI slots if I had that substantially to waste.

Fairly Blue LED Okay I got this to draw air away from my video card. Here was the outcome. I have the Antec P182SE case with all fans installed. I instaled this fan and went UP five degrees. Shut down and moved the fan a little additional away. Back down five degrees for a total enable of ZERO ... Okay and the point was? I assume I will strip the LED out of this for my front fan.

I accidentally reviewed a diverse product rather of this one so right here goes...: Silent, moves sufficient air (don't expect miracles)high top quality develop, great LED. Requires two slots, but that's portion of the item style and not seriously a flaw. I guess it doesn't actually have anything other than possibly only one particular feasible LED color. The law of diminishing returns really applies to my situation: this, alongside three other fans, helped bring my general temps about 10 degrees lower on each and every device (RAM, HDD, CPU, And so on). I would consider that if I had poor airflow or realy high temperatuers, this would have a better impact since it blows out really a bit of air. It's a bit high-priced, but it's really worth the investment.

Further cooling when you don't have spots for additional case fans.Pulls air from both sides (unlike other slot coolers). Noisy for the amount of air it pushes.Fits correct against the pci slot, could be additional away from the mother board, IMHO I got this mainly because I had to take out the front cooling fan in my case (Antec Sonata) because my video card is actually long, but I required the further airflow. For as considerably as they're charging for it, they could've made it thermally controlled so it was only noisy when it needed to be.

Operates nicely. Moves lots of air. Really quiet. Pulls air from both sides of the fan. None I have applied other PCI slot fans prior to. The ones that only take up one slot do not perform incredibly nicely in my opinion. If you can use this one it is a very nice selection. Make positive you do not place it up against one more fan that may possibly be on your video card.

This fan is developed to move as much air as attainable without having the noise. The fan assembly itself is twice as wide as your normal single slot PCI fan which means that it can move much more air with lest noise. When you verify the air flow you really should be impressed considering how quite it is. Developed with only a two wire connection for the PSU. Would favor the alternative of connecting to the MOBO case fan working with a 3 wire connection. For those guys that are complaining about the air flow? You can't have it each strategies, you either get noise with enhanced CFM or you get lower CFM with silent fans. You have to decide on.

Incredibly straightforward unit, very quiet, great cost. It's bigger than I expected, but it ought to only be a difficulty if you have a actually smaller, cramped case. The air flow isn't great, but it is far better than nothing. I'm utilizing this slot fan in a PowerMAC G4 MDD to try and help cool the power provide, which is conveniently located correct subsequent to the expansion slots on the mobo.

-quiet-decent airflow-effortless to open up and clean-looks cool -metal component is as well thick and makes for tricky mounting-massive ugly sticker-somewhat demanding on your power supply I purchased this thing over 3 years ago to alleviate an overheated situation, and it continues to do it's job pretty nicely. I've opened it up and cleaned it out several occasions, which is an straightforward job. The LEDs have lost their original luster, but the motor nonetheless operates just fine. This is intended to circulate air out of your situation, and operates greatest mounted at the bottom of a situation with a prime-mounted energy supply. Also, it looks a lot much better without having the sticker, and you can remove it most easily with hot water and dish soap.

It moves a lot of air compared to some less expensive pci fans, and it takes up two slots so there is low preassure on the fan meaning it operates very effectively. It also has visible blue LED lights. And it comes with a 6 year warrenty which is remarkable. Also, it comes with directions and two case badges. It is a tiny bit high-priced, but it is worth it! It is a wonderful item, if I ever need to have a pci slot fan i will definate come back to this a single.

They work nicely. extremely quiet, nice searching, and have air flow on back and front. Not as substantially air pushing as I expected, but superior than a lot of the single-slot coolers I've had in the past. Operates nicely for exhausting a hot-spot that's right about my video cards and chipsets. Note: Be confident to have suitable INTAKE at the FRONT of your case to take full advantage of these!

Silent, LED's light up my case nicely and it appears to cool my case effectively. I have it subsequent to a fanless videocard, so it cools it nicely and pushes hot air proper out the side of my case. None so far, it's not a difficulty for me but it takes up 2 pci slots. Very good fan, quiet, great value. Thermaltake is the ideal!

Looks kinda cool. Blue light is fairly. Weak, weak, weak. No umph. Moves much less air than my lungs do when I exhale. Compared to other fans you could get, its expensive. I got it to cool my GeForce8800gts in my Dell XPS410. I see no substantial drop in celsius. Rivatune download had far more of an influence on receiving it to run cooler.

Mounted flawlessly in LianLi Computer-105B case. This case flips the mobo so the PCI slots are at the Best.SUPER quiet. Exhausts a lot of hot air from the leading of my case (heat rises!). My other system fans are spinning slower - entire process is quieter. Wish it had mother board connector with adjustable speed, BUT I really did some analysis and knew what I was acquiring prior to I bought it. so quite a few complainers in the reviews. Do you folks NOT read the specs? When you obtain food do you close your eyes and choose stuff off the menu and then complain when it's not what you believed it need to have been? How do you give a Bad assessment for factors YOU Need to HAVE Identified?!?!Duh - it's not going to pull hot air from the bottom slots of your tower. Heat rises and this fan is only moving 10CFM. Use some typical sense.

Really quiet and moves a lot of air The hottest air is close to the best of a case... not close to the bottom where this fan will most likely go. If you have the slots avaiable, location this consider just below your vid card exactly where it will do the most good. In my most current develop, it had to go in the incredibly bottom two slots. Nevertheless, it's helping to move air in an old ATX case. Not an easy issue to do!
