Decent product
Comment:
Install HD plug in and use. Windows 7 automatically installed drivers. It is a little high in price but I am satisfied. Nice and quiet, only other drawback is there is very little room to install HD

Works as expected
Comment:
They made it very hard to have the hard drive fixed with the screws inside the enclosure. I bought a bundle (enclosure + harddrive) and the eSATA cable from the enclosure is not mounted very good. It is in the way when you want to fix the hard drive, so I left it loose inside the enclosure. Thats reason enough for me to rating it avarage overall.

Works as expected; noise as expected.
Comment:
As expected, the small(and therefore high RPM) exhaust fan generates more noise than most users could tolerate. Mine was used for additional storage for my DVR, which resides in my garage--where noise is not an issue. From box arrival to complete assembly took about 10 minutes. I especially appreciate that both USB and eSATA cables are included.

Looks Good, Runs Good
Comment:
I like the ability to stack them. No complaints there. The complaints I have are when you install the HD into the unit, it's such a tight fit that it feels like it's going to break if you push it any more. It's also a bear to get the screws in and aligned properly. Other than that, the enclosure works great.

Runs Hot
Comment:
Bought this enclosure for my recently purchased 2TB WD drive...does not work with that drive...it does work with seagate 1.5TB drives...Even with the fan the drive runs very hot..would not recommend this enclosure if you want your drives to have a long life...Had no problem installing drives however..The drives that worked (that is)

Works great
Comment:
As far as speed and stackability its great. No complaints. There are a couple of little things about it that bug me. (But no big deal). When you install the sata drive, the cable connector is a pretty tight fit. I feel like I am bending the connector too much to get the drive in there. You can tell that the connection is a little stressed. that makes me nervous. I got 2 of these and with one of them I had a difficult time getting the holes to line up when screwing the enclosure together. I think one of the screws is screwed in at the wrong angle and against the thread because that was the best I could do. I feel like this is what happens when the case is made of rubber rather than a harder material. I don't think these issues are a big deal though. The speed and etc are great.

Good enclosure, had to fix fan
Comment:
AFter a day or two, the fan started making more noise. But it turns out, the fan is tack glued in. Mine had broken loose. Put some more glue between the fan and enclosure, and its ok now.

My 3rd ULTRA
Comment:
These are intelligently designed enclosures. I upgraded to a SATA enclosure and it's quite speedy. The internal fan is a real plus. No problems whatsoever.

A Good Product
Comment:
Nothing bad about this product. Putting the drive into the enclosure was to say tight at best. A very tight fit. Very well lit, you know when it is on. I like the switch and the fan. A good product for the price.

Ultra 3.5" Stackable USB 2.0/E-SATA External Hard Drive Enclosure
Comment:
I couldn't get this enclosure to work. I tried it with 2 SATA Hard Drives, a Seagate 250 GB drive and a Seagate 1.5 TB drive. Neither of them worked due to the data and power connectors interfering with mounting the hard drive and placing the cover. This product was obviously not tested at all.

I own 3 of these units along with the Card Reader and Power Supply. Perfect for that extra storage and backups. The units are quiet and very reliable. I plan on adding more in the near future.

Ultra 3.5" Stackable USB 2.0/E-SATA External Hard Drive Enclosure
Comment:
The HD does not fit in the unit as the wires will not flex to where they are out of the way of the drive. I have the HD just pushed into place, held there by the case, no screws. If they had not used a right angle plug on the HD it would have been fine. Works great, attached it to my WHS setup and away it goes (I bought the external power supply as I expect to keep adding drives).

I've had this for about a month (bought around with Christmas when the 1.5TB drive first went on sale) and it seems like every single day it just gets louder. I have it standing up, but no matter how I put it, it just gets louder. I have an iMac, so I'm use to a quiet computing experience, but I can't even watch TV in the same room with it because it sounds like a dying cat. It looks nice, and I actually dig the rubberized feel of it, but man, something needs to be done about the loudness!

Ultra 3.5" Stackable USB 2.0/E-SATA External Hard Drive Enclosure
Comment:
Bought the package deal. Enclosure arrived quickly & the hard drive a day behind. I wish I'd read reviews. The drive puts so much pressure on the SATA connection as others report -- its bends the connectors to the board 1/8'' or more just to be able screw drive to the case. The power connector is tight as well, but not as bad. Literally the SATA cable is scrunched directly on top of the board connection pushing the pins over. I went to put on the case (two small screws), but the holes for the screws were basically so narrow the screws wouldn't fit regardless of the pressure i put on them. I had to basically drill them out before I could get the screws in. Nice plastic. I have another ultra that I like and this looked like it would be easy and simple, but the bottom line is it doesn't look like they ever actually tested this. Making the case 1/4'' larger would have made the connections fit and the screw holes is just poor prodution quality or quality control. Now I just hope it

Ultra 3.5" Stackable USB 2.0/E-SATA External Hard Drive Enclosure
Comment:
I marked the value down because I think 49.95 is too much to pay for this all plastic case. The position of the power and data connections needs to be changed it is very tight and makes getting the front set of mounting screws into the HD difficult, and if you get too energetic trying to line things up you can damage the the circuit board where these plugs are mounted It does come with all of the cables, USB, as well as SATA cable, and an adapter which plugs into one of the SATA ports on the MoBo which brings a external SATA port for MoBo's that don't have any. The tiny cooling fan does a good job the case is hardly warn so over all except for the price and the connection issue this is a good case. Would I get another one, I don't think so for 50 bucks there are better choices.

The small fan combined with the plastic material lead to insufficient heat dispersion for my purposes. I subsequently bought a Thermaltake with an aluminum housing and larger fan, also from TigerDirect. That works MUCH better for sustained use.

This is my 2nd SATA drive enclosure and this one is by far the best...I would recommend this enclosure for anyone. The other SATA enclosure kept connecting and disconnecting (a real problem and very irritating). I bought a the same brand IDE enclosure and was very pleased and decided to do the same with SATA. This is the best investment in a hard drive enclosure and would recommend to all...

well i got one and really like it. as for people questioning how well it cools, im using a hitachi 750gig 7200 rpm drive and it never really gets warm. enclosure comes with feet so it can stand on its side, in my opinion it makes a huge diff in how well it cools. if your not looking to use the stacking feature it stays at a nice low temp.

Comment:
Bought to use as external HD for DVR on the advice of a tigerdirect sales person. Power and data cables are too short causing stress on cables and connectors. Initially didn't work. Reset data cable and it worked but failed after 5 days. Easy return and refund from tigerdirect. A Rosewill enclosure for $29.99 worked much better and easier for me.
